There's someone who lost 16 Bitcoin from the same YouTube video. It really is sad that people just want to take other peoples hard earned money. This person had been saving since 2011. I hope we all take extra precaution. Being in Bitcoin has made me soooooo paranoid, I don't even click on on emails I don't know.

It's sad how heavily this split was abused. I've read multiple threads about this exact thing happening.

It may be worth buying a trezor as they have an integrated coin splitting service and wallet that supports BCH.

This is the price you pay for financial freedom. Bitcoin has no customer protection or refund policies that are being governed by centralized services. You have complete control over your financial decisions and what will happen with your money. The banks cannot save you, when things goes wrong.

If you cannot handle complete financial freedom, you are in the wrong game. Greedy people make bad decisions and they pay for those bad decisions, when they use Bitcoin. ^grrrrrrr^

There are the enormous number of scams coming up daily with the new concept, promise & whole new appearance so it is mandatory to do a deep research before investing even a Satoshi on any website. I have saved my thousands of bucks so far just because I searched for the history and experience of other investors and most of the time, I found that those sites are scam sites when they claim any insane returns and they try to prove it with artificial proofs and random transactions.

bitcoin is a responsibility of its owner.

passphrases is your key, your username/account name is like your treasure chest.

if both are got from you, that's the only ways your precious bitcoin will take away from you.

Rule of Thumb, if possible, use different username and passphrase for every valuable account.

You may use account and password manager apps to take care everything. Only one strong password you need to remember.

I was just wondering how he get scam by a youtube video if they have a conversation with that youtuber and he give hes password or a private key that was really a scam but obviously only idiots will do that if he get scam if he do the tutorial that the youtuber do it is in his own risk not the youtubers fault.

Internet is a very risk place you don't know who's behind it. There are many peoples out there waiting for someone like that newbie to come to them and scam them. I hope this one will be a lesson not to him/her but to everyone "TRUST NO ONE" specially over the internet like what i have said you don't know who's behind in the internet and you don't know what's his/her purpose.

We must all be careful regarding scams, they might seem to be good to be true and that's how they will get you, before you enter into a site and invest, first read the reviews outside of the site and asl people whether they already entered  the site or know about it. Also don't be too greedy, we all whave a lot of cash or bitcoins, but we still need to earn them and be disciplined all the time when doing so, always keep in mind that hard work, working smart amd patience always pays off.

I would say a big part of cryptocurrency business is a high-volume scam.

The huge scam also is a chain of new crypto coins ICOs via different exchanges.

Now thieves want to abuse the fork.

Sadly, you are right.  Seems like every bitcoin related website I visit is full of ads that set off my Scam alert senses.  Some more obvious that others.  There is an ad I keep seeing "Bit Great", IIRC, that promises 60,000% return in 3 days ... just send them a bitcoin and they'll send you back 600 on Thursday ... they promise.

I buy and move to cold storage as fast as possible.

With the values of bitcoin rising higher, I believe we will see more cases of such scams happening more often than before, as scammers and hackers see this as a way to get fast cash from users that have no knowledge about Crypto-currency and will accidentally pass their private key or pass phrase of their wallets to the scammers without realizing that would cause them to lose their bitcoin in the wallet.

I read about this guy losing his Bitcoins yesterday.

It is sad there are scammers in this world who want to steal our hard-earned money (or try, at least).

I already got scammed on this forum, but thankfully only once for just $20.

The reason we need to look where we put our money. Bitcoin nowadays are having a high value and invading the market. It is obvious that it will be also full of scam and fraud to make them earn bitcoin that is bought or saved by other people.
And yeah, nice website though.

If you're willing to divulge your pass phrase to anyone that asks you, you don't deserve to have a cold storage wallet where such responsibility is required. Bitcoin is truly a survival of the fittest experience. Anyone's balance can get hunted and sniped.

Why are you creating a duplicate thread of this story? The original thread from the person who got scammed can be found here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/scammers-have-stolen-my-money-2068372

EDIT: Ahh, a shameless plug for your website. You can do better than that, come on!
