Regarding the question on where the money comes from, just imagine for example if an exchanger were set up a business to deal with cryptocurrency exchange, the earning or profit will be used to pay the employees. If not for bitcoin, the business will not exist. Similarly if to say without bitcoin, the job wouldn't be there as well.

It's pretty obvious a new industry like bitcoin is going to create a lot of jobs and will only continue to create more for the foreseeable future.

According to CoinTelegraph, Bitcoin created more jobs than the U.S. government in 2014. http://cointelegraph.com/news/113486/bitcoin-created-more-jobs-than-the-us-govt-in-2014

I am sure most of the jobs are on this forum itself.

I doubt it. They go to companies like Coinbase and all the new start ups.

The gouvernment doesnt care about the little guy, but lets be honest, niether does bitcoin, since all the jobs provided are oportunistic and will last til there is a chance to make a profit.
The good thing bitcoin did, and will continue hopefully in a much larger scale, is taking some of the money from richer individuals since theyre joining later to the train.
cheers

When the rich guys do decide to join the train, they are going to swamp it. Smiley

They estimate the 250k jobs from the amount of VC money that poured into Bitcoin businesses in 2014:
"Given that $314 million were invested in various bitcoin related businesses in 2014, it is roughly estimated that these bitcoin investments have created more than 250,000 jobs during 2014 within various sectors related to cryptocurrencies."

I'm sorry, but this article is complete BS!

It states that BTC created 250,000 jobs in 2014. They don't explain where they've got that number, but this is obviously very far from the truth. If someone wants to prove me wrong, please explain who's paying the salaries of those quarter of a million people. Where does the money comes from?

I estimate that if there are 2,500 people working full time on BTC projects in the world, that's already huge.

Maybe they are counting all people that get extra income with bitcoin? Like traders and signature posters?

Even if it is true 250k is too much, I think

There are much more than that..... directly and indirectly like for example with booming crypto industry there are other businesses that stand to benefit for example domaining, accountancy service to support crypto businesses, hardware and chip makers and they tend to benefit although indirectly
