What happened four years ago doesn't seem to happen at present or in the future. What we had in terms of user network is not that big as present. Bitcoin at present didn't experienced anything big by the black Friday, because now the majority of the market is acquired by Asian countries.
Bitcoin is currency and currencies don’t have discount on black Friday and yeah in the past whenever there is fall in price Asian countries cash it more but now Asian giant has gone china is not doing in bitcoin so the atmosphere will be bit balanced if any of fall occur these days, and there is no sign of fall so far prices are rising and moving toward the next milestone to give people what they are waiting for long time.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago
Different times, different circumstances - four years is like a lifetime in the field of cryptocurrency adoption.
I strongly believe that in next four years we can have bitcoin which will reach $50k or more.
Even the most accurate numbers are meaningless without context - 4 years ago we have pump and dump scheme caused by Mt.Gox, their bot and crazy Chinese leverage traders.
Exactly different times different scenerio. i think this time it is totally opposite and we seen the price of the bitcoin has risen to exceed and we have seen that this time it has all time new price and risen to 11000$. i think like bilgades says in an interview that no one can stop bitcoin so, i think for those who has missed the train i think it is not too late yet.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago

Funny that Bitcoin has moved in a diametrically opposite direction this Thanksgiving. Tell us that we should not base our expectations of behaviour in the future from what has happened in the past. People felt that Bitcoin always rose in a calendar year, until 2013-14 happened.
I just hope that we are able to sustain prices for a few months. That would result in a support level being established at current prices.

Price drop with good reason? What do you think that reason is? I can't look for that good reason when the price is dropping. It's a normal practice that everyone will be selling their bitcoin for fiat because there's a need to purchase for goods or other things in exchange for bitcoin. And due to the strict rules of United States I guess that cause a lot of bitcoin users to move from other place just to continue their bitcoin career.

yes of course, price drop is always a good reason to buy or purchase bitcoin in a bulk for a less and cheaper price. though i think that black friday or whatever they call it holiday and special day , it is still wont affect the market of bitcoin because the demand and supply are trully the valid reason on why bitcoin can decrease or increase. yet this kind of event has somehow helped bitcoin to pumped  more at its peak.

I doubt it that an individual that is beyond the middle class can buy bulks of bitcoin. What we had to do is when you buy just take time of buying together with those whales. And like what happened yesterday there's a quick dump that happened and if ever you did rode that dumped then for sure you are happy with the current price now.

bitcoin play a very big role on black Friday in my country and in my country bitcoin is very popular and it work in any part of my country as I’m using bitcoin in different restaurants and hotels and on Friday I use bitcoin in a very big shopping mall and I buy such a good electronic things on bitcoin so I really enjoy to use bitcoin on black Friday and I hop some other people have already used bitcoin in their countries so I will tanks to bitcoin.
It sounds too good to be true. I don't know of a country so widely used bitcoin. As you pay for the goods in the shopping centre if confirmation of the transaction may last a few hours. Sometimes even longer. It seems to me that you embellished reality. This can not be and it has objective reasons.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago

I asked about this previously as well on a thread somewhere on here. It seems like there are some connections between black friday and bitcoin, I know that there has been some slight correlations as we've seen with this past one. I would venture to say that a majority of BTC users are in the United States. Not sure how true it is, but I believe that it holds some weight. As bitcoin is seen more as a currency, the more people will use it as so.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago
That is four years ago, the price now reaches another all time high. It was on $8,400 and looks like unstoppable. And four years ago, bitcoin isn't still recognized by different countries and users so that made a very tiny amount on that black friday. But now, it's on the mainstream and even broadcasting together with the other currencies so this makes bitcoin totally and farther from before.
It seems to me that from the point of view of logic of the price drop of bitcoin Black Friday with good reason. On this day, many people making many expensive purchases and those who do not have enough Fiat may sell their bitcoins in order to take out a Bank loan. Perhaps, there are very few bitcoin users from the United States. In the future this may well happen.

He just says about the black friday effect we may find again however that day has been already crossed so no more fear about to see the black friday effect on happening this year. We already find the bump on the same day.
Here I do not understand why you speaking about the people move to exchange and converting bitcoin and use it as for bitcoin transaction and etc...
Still people from US using bitcoins you can check the people who is supporting trump if you check in political and society you may know the people from USA.
There's nothing to be feared anymore as the price of bitcoin did resulted to get up to $10,000 few hours ago. And with the thing that you didn't understand it's just all about transactions and trades. Sending bitcoin to an exchange for buying altcoins and sending it to another person for the same purpose like buying some goods or service. In USA, if you noticed that there are some exchanges that cut their USA users there is something going on.

Black friday in bitcoin it will not happen to crash because at this time for sure price of bitcoin will increase. That was four years ago that bitcoin crash I think people before dont believe in bitcoin. But now, bitcoin has proven to be strong and popular already.

What does it means sir? If the black friday happen again the price of the bitcoin will decrease or crash? I think it's not the black friday because it's not on the holiday or anything. The price of the bitcoin it depends on the demand if they have many buyer for sure the price increase and if they have many seller the price for sure decrease.

The Black Friday is a shopping day which can't be spread on crypto currencies and the last year fall was just an exception. As I suppose there wasn't nothing with bitcoins price this Friday, oppositely the price rised to a new record.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago
After four years on the same black Friday bitcoin has make significant progress and most importantly become strong. What happened in four years ago may not happen again as many big investors are started to have interest in bitcoin and others cryptocurrency. The clashed in four years ago give opportunities for others to buy bitcoin at cheap price. We hope the price keeps going up as most of the resistance level has been broken.

The price is probably going to be over $9000 by Monday, take my word, i have placed a buy order at $8550 each bitcoin and i will keep waiting for some time until the price reaches more than 10000.

I am still thinking about create a Long position with some leverage on bitfinex, i can make a lot of money if i have a nice trade. But it is difficult because bitfinex is having a lot of troubles at the moment, so it is very risky to put money in there.

But no, it is not going to fall because there are no ways to see bitcoin falling again, we are only going to see it going up for the next days.

Maybe fall happened some time before but this friday wasn't black for Bitcoin, just the opposite. The price is way over 8000$ and it could happen easily that it will reach 9000$.
But maybe some users enjoyed the black friday spending their Bitcoins in shoping.

It doesnt apply to the actual price, because probably that price had only a few billions on their total marketcap, and all the bitcoins were distributed only in a few part of the world.

Now a lot of people have bitcoins, and there are better big whales than before, and this is the reason of why it can not make more than 70% of retracement, in fact, this is impossible and would not happen again.

And why the black friday? it does not affect bitcoin because you can not purchase anything with bitcoin on eBay, amazon, because they are the only eshops that have a lot of offers during the blackfriday.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago
It surely didnt crashed because of black Friday. Probably it crashed because that was the time when banks of China noticed that people started to use bitcoin and they were claiming bitcoin was "not a currency in the real meaning of the word". Thats why it crashed at the end  of 2013. Back then the things were different.

Bitcoin is not used often to buy things online so black friday is not going to offer any boost to its price. Maybe in future when bitcoin will be ready for low fees and fast transaction people will start using it to buy different things online and the price will increase more.

I was surprised by the trend bitcoin showed up yesterday. Its been a long time we haven't seen a major correction in the price of bitcoin. Infact its reaching its new all time high everyday. Just after the black Friday its value has upsurged to $8500. Seems like a lot of people couldn't buy the things they wanted to.  Tongue

That was four years ago mate when less than 1% people were using bitcoin and few were aware of it, don't compare it with today when bitcoin community is massive and growing more day by day. Check the price chart of last three days and compare it with the past, you will realize the difference and increased reliability of bitcoin today.

I've voted that the price will rise but that's because there was no option for the price to remain at this range.

Different times, larger market and wider acceptance. Bitcoin price will hardly ever again, if ever again at all, drop for so much in such a short time. Yes, it may drop for $1-$2k but still that leaves us with the $6k+ price. Also from my view, the price will be on the rise at almost all the times or remaining stable.
As the price of bitcoin will increase, the vibration amplitude will increase. You say that for you, no matter the price difference of $ 2000. It's more money. This is only the beginning. When the price of bitcoin will be $ 20K we can deal with the fact that bitcoin will lose and purchased at the price of 1000 dollars each day. It will be a serious test for our psyche.

four years ago the price dumped from $1000 to $300 just like you said,
but what is going on afterward ? 2 years ago the price pumped to around $400 right ?
after that what is going on with it a year ago ? the price moved to around $700.
which mean everyday and everytime the demand increasing and with the price keep increasing too.
the reason why Bitcoin dumped so hard a few years ago due to overhype and exit scam caused by Mt.Gox.
back then Bitcoin reach $1000 while the demand itself did not show any significant level, that mean also it's totally manipulated in order to get a tons of profit.
unlike now,Bitcoin already show it's usability and have a better technology and improvement compared to it a while ago.
plus the demand significantly increasing this past years,
so i believe there will be an upward movement that will lead us to another bullrun.

Four years ago, Bitcoin is unheard of for many shoppers out there and I believe there's only a handful of merchants accepting Bitcoins as pay option unlike today, there are debit cards powered by Cryptos and merchants accepting Bitcoins. But, I doubt there will be an effect in todays Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Bitcoins price.

That crash has not been caused by black Friday but by other factor like what posters above said. I think a crash similar to it is possible because of operation dragonslayer but not now, bitcoin itself is not too shopper in friendly but it is investor wise. It does not choose the time of it's pump and dump, it occurs in random. Still, bitcoin needs to have cheap fees again for it to go back being shopper friendly even if it dumps now as a late sale for black Friday.

Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago

Yes,the bitcoin price crashed, but it wasn`t because of Black Fiday,it was due to the Mt.Gox hack.
Such price crash won`t happen again.
I was wondering about major merchants allowing  bitcoin purchases with big discounts around this black Friday, but i couldn`t find i single one.Unfortunately bitcoin is not a shopper-friendly digital currency. It is more like an "investor-friendly" asset. Grin

I think that is the real tragedy. Bitcoin needs to be first and foremost a currency and then an asset for investment. It seems to me that if the situation does not change that bitcoin will turn into a bubble. It will be very sad. We got our hands the chance to be truly free. But human greed can destroy the chance.
