Is this for real? If so great news, seems like Elwar will have yet something less to worry about since now he can get gas paying directly with Bitcoin lol.

bitcoin is great, more and more merchants are accepting it nowadays, so we can hold it strongly, let's wait for next big pump and we get rich. They will join Microsoft, dell, newegg, and let's change the world, change the remittance future and international transfer.

Someone should make a little animation and send it to these Oil & Gas companies.

You have a QR Scanner built into the Gas pump, and you enter the amount, scan the QR code and once the transaction is confirmed { 1 confirmation } you can fill up with gas.

They can start with only 1 pump and as demand increase, they can add more pumps OR they can have Bitcoin enabled chargers for electric cars.  Wink

Replacing pumps would be an expensive option that companies would probably not go for. Having to go inside to pay at the cash register is a good compromise though.

No, they should use a 0-confirmation (network propagation) approach. Who wants to wait around for one confirmation when that might take 2 minutes, or 10, or 40?

How ironic? Lukoil is one of the largest Russian oil companies, and yet they are unable to accept Bitcoin payments within Russia. Anyway, it is good that they are able to do so in the Baltics. I just hope that the other oil distributors will be following their lead in these nations. And it will be good if the ban on Bitcoins can be pulled down in Russia.

I do not get it, is SpectroCoin a Alt coin? I am more exited about this xxx "vouchers, which can be used for non-digital off chain transactions among people."
Estonia’s central tax authority apply a 23% VAT (value-added tax) to the sale of bitcoins, so their government is getting their tax on the coins and on the pumps.

so you think that they are expanding bitcoin to more services on purpose, just to earn more on taxes? it could pretty be the case

or they just need to regulate more bitcoin...

This is great news for bitcoin.  Many wars have been fought to get the $ accepted as the only currency for gas for a reason.

Ah, the PetroDollar...
Well, as far as I know, many countries are moving away from it now.
Russia, China, Brasil (I think), and some others.

God is with us

Gas Stations in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia operated by Lukoil will now accept Bitcoin through a service called
SpectroCoin, which allows them to pay with Bitcoin at the pump.
