Do you think that bitcoin will reach 50K by 2021? I find it similar to 2016 where we had ICO's, now we just had DeFi *scam*
A friend of mine told me that bitcoin will get low these upcoming months, what do you think? given the recent Bart pattern i see a lot of manipulation and it isn't a good sign really...
There’s a lot of good prediction that can tell where bitcoin is heading, but most of them can’t guarantee good returns for us because its just a prediction. If the price goes beyond $15k this year then there’s a good chance for a more higher trends next year especially when most of the economy are recovering as well from the pandemic crisis.
Well, prediction will remains always as a prediction. Nothings who gave prediction has an accurate result.
Buit even if you don't have prediction, --I can sense that bitcoin will become beyond $59k. So while on the early stage, I suggest to people just accumulated what you can afford. Dont believed your friend, it perhaps spreading FUD news. Be optimistic of your own, and believed that there is a new ATH of bitcoin almost happen next.

I am not sure if ATH is something we could achieve once again this quickly, it was a onetime thing and I believe it is going to be not like that ever again for a while. Not saying we are not going to be $20k again, we are probably going to be $20k again, but it will not be like that, it will probably slower.

We will probably stay around $15k levels for a month, we will probably reach to $18k and stay there for a while, things will not be that great for a long time and eventually we will go to $20k, in between these times it will go down here and there, it will look bad, but we will go back up and continue as well. So long story short, we are not going to relive 2017, it is not going to be "one day I woke up and it was over $20k" ever again, that was a rare thing.

Do you think bitcoin is near $50k? In my opinion it is still far way from $50K. For bitcoin, At least 5 years are needed to reach $50k. It can reach upto $18K at the end of 2021.

I always look to the bitcoin price in November and December to estimate how good bitcoin can do it the first months of the next year. For now, I think $15k is reasonable but if that price was reached by the end of the year then $20k shouldn't be hard to achieve in 2021 imo.
Well, I do believe that there is a huge difference between believing bitcoin can be $20k (which it wasn't for that long time actually) and believing it could be $100k. First of all the amount of money required is a lot different, we are talking about 5 times more money required and even $20k was too much that it went down right away, so how could we expect 5 times more than the money we barely got together in the first place?

Secondly we are talking about stock market levels of market cap, how could we say that price could reach to a point where crypto market equals nasdaq? That would be too much and I am afraid would be unrealistic. I am not saying any of this is impossible, it is totally possible but I also feel like just because it is possible doesn't mean it is probable.

So much predictions for the year 2021 as others predicted price of bitcoin could reach or surpass the all time high happen before. Can we really give an accurate prediction? No one actually knows what price could attain by the year 2021. In my view, there's a possibility we may see bitcoin in a bull run stage but let's expect it may decline.

People all talk about how 2021 suppose to be better because of halving but we are not talking about how great we are right now anyway.

I think that is because people remember what happened in the last halving before this year. The price after halving can increase and touch the new ATH after they wait for a long time. It makes them think that this year, the price will rise higher after the halving moment, creating a new ATH.

It is normal if they think and hopes like that because we all waiting for almost more than 2 years to see the price increase. However, we need to wait for more and have more patience. And if the time comes, we will see how high the bitcoin price will increase.

Some of my friends think like that.

Eversince it dipped and did not make a new ATH every december, all they waited was the halving thinking that it will create a great price pump so they invested at every dumps. All I can say to them right now is that the price of Bitcoin is not that low compared in the past and with new resistances showing, all they can do is take advantage of the movements they can take advantage and make use of other cryptocurrencies around. As you said, all we can do now is wait since we all know it will just go back there after some time.

You are right. You can say that the pump for bitcoin price will come, no matter if that will happen every December or not, because bitcoin itself can not be predicted. All they can do now is hold their bitcoin, buy more bitcoin when the price is down, or buy and sell when the price is up and down. It is better to wait and try to make a profit because the price will increase so high, and we will back to make a big profit in the future.

Bitcoin for the year 2021 is predicted to reach above the previous ath value. In simple the price of bitcoin keeps growing depending upon the demand. Ongoing year hasn't provided big growth with bitcoin and other stock market assets as expected. When the world market was dropping low due to the pandemic lockdown. The bitcoin market pumped high, and 2020 was marked a big year for cryptocurrency.

Based upon the prevailing market situation and from majority of the experts prediction bitcoin is believed to reach atleast $35000 by 2021.

Next year there will be a lot of people buying bitcoin because they believe miners will not have any coins to sell. Almost all predictions by huge people keep saying that BTC will surge in 2021. In my opinion, this is likely true based on historical data, timeline on BTC progress, and many fundamental related cases. However, Some miners already started to save up Bitcoin and they have been doing that for years. It is possible we will experience another bearish season in 2021.

Do you think that bitcoin will reach 50K by 2021?

I definitely don't think we will see bitcoin reaching $50,000 next year, and I don't understand where so much opitmism comes from to the point of thinking about $50,000 next year when we're not even $20,000. Look, it's September (there are 3 months to the end of 2020) and the price is at $10,000 and let's imagine (which is what I think will happen) that the price will end at $ 10,000 this year. To reach $ 50,000 next year, the price would have to increase by $3000 every month.

I find it similar to 2016 where we had ICO's, now we just had DeFi *scam*

someone always invents something, before the ICO was IEO, now DEFI, I wonder: which one is next?

A friend of mine told me that bitcoin will get low these upcoming months, what do you think? given the recent Bart pattern i see a lot of manipulation and it isn't a good sign really...

It is possible to have a small fall, but I doubt it will be serious

in fact, no one knows about this. even now, I quite expect bitcoin price to hit $ 30k in mid-2021 due to the halving effect. however, it is difficult to speculate without seeing prices at the end of this year. however, if the end-of-year price reaches $ 15k, then it is possible that in 2021 it will be around $ 20k or $ 25k. it happens when there is only the same movement as the previous halving. well, I speculated like that because I saw the pattern in the previous halving, and have this opinion. however, we don't know if bitcoin price can go up to $ 50k or not. but to be honest, I find it quite difficult.

That actually will make bitcoin crash, ICO's event has given a bad thing for crypto currency sphere. There will be many people who leave just because they got scammed for an ICO. And now, DeFi system I don't thing it is a good or bad project since I don't know the impact from it, just a bad problem for ethereum blockchain.

Bitcoin price will increase if there are a lot of adoption, it will be different with bull run 2017 ago since at that time bitcoin hadn't been known by many people. But the situation is different right now, there are a lot of people who know bitcoin but they are reluctant to using it or deemed it as a stuff which has a value, there still many government as well who didn't like bitcoin and it will give a bad affect for the adoption.

I mean sure we are not at the places we want to be, we want to be over $20k at first, that is the first goal, but after that from 30 to 50 to 100 we have a lot of dreams about bitcoin price and they do make sense, I do understand why we want that, everyone wants to get rich and also bitcoin going up means that altcoins going up as well most of the time.

However one thing we are forgetting is the fact that we are above $10k. I understand for new people that is not a big deal but for people like me who have been here for 7-8 years, it is a marvel, I have seen bitcoin under 100 dollars, do you realize how much of a big increase that is? We are quite fine even at this stage if we stay like this forever.

We can't know where the price will go, that is the beauty of Bitcoin.
$50k is far exaggerated and not only impossible this or next year but for a longer period of time. In fact so expect more corrections like we are having now and without big positive price movements as well as fresh big investors. So, to my opinion range between $10k and $13k will not be exceeded.

Yeah, I am also on that price range.
Forget about the $50k for now.
Just focus on getting more bitcoin if it goes cheap again.
IMO, this is not yet the maturity of it. It is still young to shock the market and just become a victim of false or fake gossips afterward.  Grin

Will the trend make bitcoin move again?
I have actually a worse idea.
Bitcoin stroke high 2017 when ICO was at its peak.

Well, I hope so. Whoever that friend of yours might be wrong or might be correct. But at the end of the day, that was all just speculation, the good part just there is that I think we are in the bull run phase and this menstruation period of bitcoin was just on the accumulation phase, just to shake those noobs and weak hands and ready to have bags before price get high again. My hunch is that $20k was a target price this year. #HODL

I just wish we know where the price will go.
But then, there will be no use in predicting the market.  Grin

50k is just way too far in my opinion.
13k is even getting difficult to reach even now and then DeFi happened.
Investors focusing their money on this new type of project creations just like ICO.
Again, the money that should be going into bitcoin is divided. Fewer buyers, less demand, less movement.

People only speculate about market movements but if the prediction is far away then it doesn't really matter either.

Bitcoin still holds 10k which indicates that there is still a strong suspicion of investors who still believe in the DeFi trend market movement, there is little influence currently it can't reach 15k when it is at the peak of the DeFi project but people will always want to know in the future about how this is. will happen again with the trend.

We can say any price prediction for the bitcoin price in 2021, but we don't know what will happen next year. Besides that, we are still recovering from Covid-19, which we don't know when it will over. And with the situations now, I think bitcoin needs to find a good time to start the rally, and who knows, we will see the rally will begin in this month.

But I saw a lot of discussion about future bitcoin price predictions and it was said at the time bitcoin was pumping whether it was really going to rally in knowing this in fact no one knew in it all including now this big dump made a lot of big panic trigger .
Well, the Covid-19 recovery is still happening, but I think this has nothing to do with Covid-19, if bitcoin is able to move, then don't pay attention to Covid-19.

There will be many more predictions about the bitcoin prices for the future. But I believe bitcoin price itself will have a pump to the high price, which will happen many times before the price can touch the new ATH. We already saw that the bitcoin price could touch $12k, but unfortunately, the price was back to the lower price, and I think that is not something that we should worry about because the price will be increased again. Perhaps, Covid-19 with bitcoin doesn't have relation anything, but who knows.

But we will see a different thing from what we saw in 2017-2018, which bitcoin price can rose so high at almost $20k. With halving that happens this year, it could trigger the price to increase more than $20k. Yes, the numbers will always surprise investors, and we have more chances to buy more bitcoin now. So we need to be ready for the next rally.
Like the halving now it will not be repeated like in 2017 where bitcoin was able to reach its highest value of 20k, but now 12k is hard to be at the top for longer because there are still many scamer projects that continue to happen, this can trigger and investors are afraid again.

I am not worried about that because I am sure bitcoin can reach the highest price in the next bull run, and I think the bitcoin price can get more than $20k. If bitcoin price still at $12k, it doesn't mean that bitcoin will stay at that price because we know that bitcoin is strong, and bitcoin can lift the price anytime. But now, bitcoin seems to need more time to raise the price, and we have more time to buy more bitcoin before the price start rally.

we can only hold on to each other's beliefs. I have confidence that next year Bitcoin will pass $ 20k and will most likely be priced $ 50k.

and regarding DeFi, it looks like it's already experiencing a saturated market, not only are some DeFi's experiencing market corrections, Bitcoin has also experienced market corrections for the last 3 days.

despite experiencing the current market correction but for sure the Bitcoin price will return to rise in the next few months.

I believe not many saw this correction coming, I mean seeing bitcoin again trading in four digits below $10,000 not many expected that to happen especially not with all this DeFi hype flying around saying it's the trigger for the next bill run. On the long run, bitcoin is still bullish so any price prediction can be achieved but using what just happened with the market few days back as a case study I think we won't be seeing much new highs anytime soon. 2021 is still far ahead.

If bitcoin is still struggling to get back to $20,000 then we should understand by now that it won't be an easy task to complete for it to be trading as high as you just highlighted above. Maybe a $30,000 trading price would be the casel as that won't be much of a big deal to achieve if we can break the previous high of $20k.

I would say that if people could stop investing their money into stuff that may make them rich in a month or so and instead put their money into stuff that will make them 10% a month profit instead, we would definitely have bitcoin over 50k.

People see these stuff as quick get away from all the boring life and into the wealthy life style and they invest into very high risk stuff and end up with basically all types of problems, yet they are afraid of actually losing their money as well for some reason. They end up losing a lot of money and either quit trading all together and go back to fiat or they are looking at everything like it is a scam, even bitcoin. So instead of that, we should make people take a look at bitcoin a lot harder, if you invest and all others invest, we are talking about a lot more money.

they burn money on projects in the name of Defi and some of them are scam, so be careful that investing in crypto doesn't have to look at the trend where the crowd buys it and you get into it, that's clearly very wrong, in my analysis to next year we will go for prices above $ 50k, if only newcomers to the crypto world really want to delve deeper into every project they invest
We all have to learn from ICOs and it all started well and over time, there have been many projects that have turned into scams.
like the current Defi trend and it doesn't hurt to be vigilant, and for 2021 I expect bitcoin to reach around 15k-18k and only predictions are not necessarily correct and but the increase in bitcoin price reaches the highest price we all expect.

We can't even break through $12K this month.

I think we will not be able to reach that price next year, probably we might get back to $11K at the end of the year and might break the wall of $12K in the earlier months but I don' think it will be even at $30K, might not even be at $20K.

Current challenge is that price should remain above 10k levels else it may fall deeper if it goes below 10k. Then slowly it will have to recover and move again above 11k and then reaching and breaking that 12k level which last month it was unsuccessful as it could not stayed for long above 12k. Let’s see if it can stay above 12k itself for 2020 end or not.

Bitcoin BTC in 2021 will be a big step forward. Economy will recover from Covid19.  However, the numbers are always surprises for investors! Unless there is another crisis await.

-Pho

yes, I hope that Covid-19 will pass soon, of course we are also concerned about Covid-19.
but the increase in bitcoin is due to the halving that has happened several times.
The first and second halving, began to appear in the following year which resulted in the price of bitcoin increasing in November and December.
The third halving is in 2020 and it is likely that the same as the previous halving will certainly occur in 2021 but we cannot predict what month the increase will be.
we are waiting for the end of this year bitcoin is at what range.

What your friend said was just a prediction and it is not 100% accurate although I'm leaning towards that prediction too.
I expect for a lower price this month before we make a big major upwards movement.

Bitcoin price by 2021?? Hmmmm my prediction is $15,000-$16,000 will be hit and I'm pretty sure we will reach a new ATH at that time although I'm not expecting it to happen. I mean that the chances of this to happen is at around 50-60% only and we may see Bitcoin just around the price we are right now next year.

2020 - 2021 will be an interesting year for cryptocurrencies, because the Pandemic is still not over and a vaccine is still not produced,
making cryptocurrencies one of the best assets so far, maybe 2021 will be a big surprise.
Let's skip the 2020. I'll be more curious on 2021-2023. And about the pandemic, it's still normal, why when pandemic started to spread all over the world, we saw a huge drop on all the markets, not only on cryptocurrencies but in stocks too.

We are still lucky to see bitcoin survive eventhough there's a global crisis occuring and instead it drops the pumps happen so we can expect the greatness of it. but I don't literally do a advance prediction nor try to believe on it since no one could predict on what will happen nor give a close insights regarding on it.

Stay and focus on "realistic price" and just continue your usual accumulation of BTC.

Be it happened or not, at least you will take the advantage and benefits.

No one knows what will happen even for let's say, we just have to share our thoughts if $50,000 is possible by 2021. All I can say is, everything is possible but I tend not to expect much. Chart patterns, speculations, predictions with good analysis are just for reference for making our next strategy. It's not to tell you the accurate thing that will happen.

From now, Bitcoin is still far away from $50k. It is really tough for bitcoin to reach $50k within one year. In my personal opinion, Bitcoin can reach upto $20k at the end of 2021.

you got it all backwards!

it all starts from bitcoin, always. bitcoin price goes up, it fills the media, a lot of newcomers come, then the price goes higher. then the scammers come and start creating all these schemes to rob those newcomers hence the ICOs.
now is the same too, bitcoin price is on the rise but with the difference that DEFI is not new like ICO, it is the same thing under a different name and is the continued attempt to keep the scam alive. they have alraedy changed the name at least 4 times but it keeps failing because people have caught up.

Its never easy to predict the future price of bitcoin without influencing factor. DeFi is currently touted as a factor that could affect the price of bitcoin in the following year, but I am not sure about that. Many investor have been very tired of ICO, IEO, and most project failed in the past and made them lose money.

2017 is the culmination of a decade in bitcoin and it is very difficult to repeat itself. Back then people flocked to crypto and invested in it without much consideration. But after what they have experienced then I believe everything will be difficult to achieve again. I am sure the price of bitcoin will go up, but it is all a process and we still have plenty of time to prepare.

Do you think that bitcoin will reach 50K by 2021?

By start of 2021 or by end of 2021?
If your question is by start of 2021, there is tiny chance for that. Yes there will be covid vaccine before end of this year, but they will still finalise testings so no one will get vaccinated out of Russia and China. That is simply not enough optimism to push Bitcoin price over old ATH.
If your question is by end of 2021, then there is much bigger chance for $50k Bitcoin. There could still be some huge economic crash that would prevent it.

I am not sure if it can reach 50k, that is a big number to reach but I am certain that in 2021 it will go up a lot. For example the number in my mind was breaking the ATH and be around 20k and max at 25k, those are very healthy and realistic numbers and I feel like that could happen. Obviously it is not something I can guarantee, maybe it won't happen, maybe it will spend the whole of 2021 under 10k, who knows?

But, my gut feeling tells me that everything that is needed for bitcoin to be over 20k and closer to 25k and even maybe 30k is actually there. 50K however is a bit more than what I imagine it could be, not saying it will be there but all I am saying is it is way too much to make it work, we would need ton of money coming in to take it there but not only that we would need a ton of money to keep it there as well.

Why does your friend thinks that it will go low for the next months to come? you saw the Bart pattern and that's a known meme.  Grin
It's not actually that pattern but what do you really think the charts say?

And you should get the analysis of your friend why we're going to go through low for the upcoming months. Bitcoin reaching $50k by next year? yes or no or somewhere between or higher.

The year after halving in the first 2 cases resulted in a very significant price increase, and if we only took that as the main factor then x5 would not come into question at all. But as we can see in the recent past, and a few days ago - Bitcoin is reacting to a stock market that has experienced a sizeable decline in which some companies have lost tens of billions of dollars in just one day.

If we take this market as a measure, then we can take into account the assumption that the price of Bitcoin will go up only if other markets also operate positively. The only question is how the world economy will react, given that most large countries have recorded the largest decline in GDP since the end of WWII, and the second wave has not even begun.

Of course, any crypto enthusiast would like Bitcoin to become a safe haven and can be considered digital gold, but such progress is time-consuming and questionable. This is always a problem for those who, like OPs, want to invest in the short term - but I personally think there is a very good chance that prices will rise next year.

I also have spotted a drop in price in a weekly chart. Therefore, price has broken a major spot at $10,000, I expect that it will drop to $8,134 maybe during this week ending.

I always look to the bitcoin price in November and December to estimate how good bitcoin can do it the first months of the next year. For now, I think $15k is reasonable but if that price was reached by the end of the year then $20k shouldn't be hard to achieve in 2021 imo.

To predict the specific price of Bitcoin at $50000 at a specific year I don't think is realistic, the price of Bitcoin is highly volatile we just had a huge dump and we are going to experience this over and over again for the price to reach that level there should be a continuous flow of great news and adoption, because of the recent dump I have a hard time to believe that Bitcoin will reach that price at a very short period of time.

It could even exceed $50k or 2021 or $5k. Meaning no one can really forsee the future as we don't have the crystal ball.

When it did decline in the last 3 days or so, yes, there is a bart pattern, but then again, this kind of pattern are like touch and go, so it will be a continuous up and down. As far as manipulation, this is open market, we can't do anything about it, either you go with the flow, hold or buy during this dip.

Correction occured in a sudden blink of an eye. Simply proves that whenever there is an increase on its market price, there's no guarantee that it will be continuous. Many people made predictions when the price broke the $12k resistance, such that its price will be able to reach "$100k" and the likes. Same thing happened in the market value of the alts. Selling at this point is not advisable, it won't save you from the loss. The best thing is to hold but expect that an uprise movement could be not possible for this year, patience therefore is a must.

Even next year, we have no idea what could happen and if there will be something that would trigger an uprise movement. Reaching its ATH I think, can either be possible or impossible even for the next year since the market price is unpredictable, that's the bottomline.

The recent dump last week is very unpredictable we are all caught unaware of the dump, we don't know what's going to happen next month or before the end of the year but more so next year, there are many predictions but if you are a long term holders with a belief that Cryptocurrency is the future with good profit then you will not entertain these predictions, but if we based it on history Bitcoin should be better by 2021.

There are similar prediction thread, this might help you find a good read with different comments.

Some bullish predictions isn't only speculating a $50k, but a $100k in 2021. And, DeFi in indeed making so much hype today like the ICO days in 2017.
What kind of manipulations do you see btw?
Whales selling their cryptos? Or the miners?
I can also see institutional investors coming in to the crypto market.
