It's a self fulfilling prophecy. Predictions like this makes everyone sell or not buy until the predicted levels.

Snip

I intended the quote " " on expert would convey my reservations and skepticism about the entire episode. Maybe it was a little to understated.
I did not accept it as a prediction, nor do I subscribe to the idea of "expert prediction"
I just wanted to highlight the part in italics and get public opinion

but I was drawn to the statement made by Former institutional trader, Tone Vays;

"BTC constantly drops 80 or 90% to make sure people know what they’re doing, that they understand why they’re in BTC. And I think there are so many big buyers of Bitcoin and they weren’t buying it for the right reasons. They were buying it to make a quick buck and to be famous and to make money for their investors"

I commonly here the term 'shake out's being used, and it is becoming to seem to me like positives people take whenever there is a market drop. But we never truly have one, as during the next dump, there's another shakeout.
I'd have to lock up the thread now as the discussion is not on the supposed topic.

the problem with OP is that he thinks what he read is a "prediction". but it really isn't. it is more like a guess and worst it is something to fill the space on that news site so that people like him click it and read it so they can give that website some traffic so that they can earn money from that traffic. as a result they don't care about what they publish. most of the time they "create" both the "prediction" and the "expert" at the same time and quote them!

I believe no one can predict exactly what will be the price of bitcoin in the future and even the so called experts in cryptocurrencies. There are already failed predictions in the past and still there are lot of them trying to predict the future of the coins. Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile but their prices can be manipulated so I think the only people that will know the future prices of the coins are the manipulators themselves.

for the problem of bitcoin prices today it is indeed at a low price position, but if the price reaches $ 3000 it is a prediction that does not necessarily have the truth, it is a statement that does not have basic evidence.

I'm confused by many predictions, well I saluted who of them hit the bitcon price. Most likely to invest because of their predictions. Tom lee prediction is $15k in the end of this year, let see if he is correct! Guys i'm happy even the bitcoin will hit $8k-$10k i'm happy to see the price rise even at such a price.

There so many reason the price go down but I believe we truly need it to go down but many factors delay it since some months now and here it is today but I will say panic selling also cause it at times and many are you for quick money and not the use if the Bitcoin as the main reason for it creation , so far we have been having issue on legal and illegal to adopt but yet many still use it on daily basis so I will advice you just stick to what you know as those you call expert just trying to say what they think and you can also do same it you think otherwise.

I don't believe expert bitcoin are moves their price up and down because of volatility
All prediction came from the expert is failed
In my own opinion i still believe nobody can control of bitcoin price as volatile currency
Even do the whales manipulation are not true i think depends on the volume demands

Today's market conditions are very bad, and it doesn't support getting short-term profits, investment or trading.

but sometimes trading has a choice, because there are several altcoins that have good development, and are good for trading.

we will buy BTC if BTC really goes to $ 3000.

I am also a bit sceptical about the price of btc but to my mind it is not true that it will be that high. However, it would be really great because i have some coins and i would be happy if i earn so much on the price difference because i bought them cheap

I came upon this article, and the so called experts weigh in on the current price dip and why they believe Bitcoin would reach $3000.

I am usually very skeptical about trading advice from popular cryptocurrency influencers as it could be made with personal motive, but I was drawn to the statement made by Former institutional trader, Tone Vays;

The current drop is bad for those seeking short term profit, and ICOs sponging on the growth of bitcoin. But I don't think it does much to the actual goal and target of this technology,
Of course we all invest for profit.
But true believers in bitcoin would be mildly shaken by price dumps, especially as it is expected in this space.

What do you think?
What's the support you envision?
Could there be a silver lining in all these?

It is just a panic! I think that this is not the end of Bitcoin, it is just a start. The winner is not who does not fall, but is who get up the first.

Just some bullshits by some random person who claims that they are expert. To be honest, most of the so called "experts" just randomly blurts out whatever they can say to please other people. Just read most of the articles before where those "experts" predicted that the price will go above $200,000 USD within the end of the year, but exactly the opposite is happening. My suggestion is to ignore those experts and do your own learnings and become an expert yourself.

Last year most if not all the expert predicted that bitcoins would go much higer, Macfee was talking about a 1 million dollar Bitcoin in just 3 years from now. All those prediction are possible but we need to use our own judgment when we here people talk about an 40.000 dollar Bitcoin just months away. Yes it's possible in next bull run. Just like a 1.000 or 2.500 dollar bitcoin are highly possible in the next coming weeks.

What I find interesting is that some of you want to make the situation look positive. You are telling others that it's fine, it will drop by 90% and then it will be over, but most of you had sold in this recent dip or even before it. The RSI and market cap of Bitcoin are showing that most traders felt the panic and got rid of their coins. Put your money where your mouth is.

Despite the harshness of what is happening, it is a viable solution to reorder the market
Restructuring the composition of investors in the market
To be believers They are the owners of the influential

And the role of whales in the market will be reduced
This is the solution as I see it.

So what are the future predictions about bitcoin from these experts? I can't find the prediction on the OP. That is a statement but why is the title written prediction? Btw, no one can predict the price of bitcoin correctly, but if you have your own analysis then at least you will have two possibilities. If your analysis is good for the future, then you will be optimistic to keep buying or just keep hold. But if your analysis is bad then it looks like you will be pessimistic about the future of crypto and will panic at this crash.
I believe everyone who invests in bitcoin should understand the essence of this cryptocurrency. When there is a sufficient knowledge base that I am sure that the panic in the market will be less.Bitcoin is a long-term investment.Do not pay attention to today's price.Everything will be restored-and the price and demand and even greater scalability of bitcoin.I'm not panicking over today's price. This price is temporary. And there is no need to be an expert,it is enough to know the minimum material part and the essence of bitcoin.

Anyone living on Bitcoin and/or being paid in it does pay attention to today's price. Yes, panic should be on a lower level, but we have to acknowledge the fact that blockchain is a new technology that is hardly understood even by teenagers. Teenagers got the technology right in their hands (smartphones, smart TVs, VR headsets etc) but still find it hard to understand a cryptocurrency. With time, it will become used by more and more people and with usage, they will also start understanding at least small parts of the technology. The worst part is losing money over cryptocurrencies through mistakes such as choosing a low security password or by losing/recycling your paper wallets. I think most of us, 'early' adopters, have lost money this way unfortunately.

I take "expert predictions" as directions they give us in their advantage. Someone who bought BTC will obviously never publicly state that Bitcoin will fall if they know their action will, indeed, plummet the price. They always speak in their advantage, so think twice about their statements before following their words. They can also use this "BTC to $1,500" statement as a reason to make us sell so they can buy cheaper. No stranger will help you make money for free!

I am tired with the "Experts predictions". It gives nothing, we need facts, not speculations from people. Facts show that 12 months back the BTC price was at the $20k level and today in the $4k-5k level, yet we don't know how low it could go

At this time, I am sure about that people re-think about why they bought BTC and most of them regret for wahat they did. People who regretful are doomed to lose and brave ones are going to be rewarded as usual. According to past experiences we have, BTC will find a way to come back.

Certainly such drops as the one that is now, and those that were previously do not add to the attractiveness of Bitcoin. A currency that falls 80% of its value cannot be considered a reliable asset. If the dollar fell by 80% in relation to other currencies, people would simply stop trusting him. For millions of people to believe in Bitcoin, its course must be stable. Greater volatility of the course may please speculators and traders, but not ordinary investors.

People who wants to introduce their new technology really wants bitcoin to go down. They really wanted to replace bitcoin as the number one crypto. I know bitcoin has some flaws but as what I've noticed with new ICOs and projects that are evolving into crypto space almost everyday are purely real joke. There are so many shitcoins want to profit from people who has less knowledge about the technology.

There are so many haters of bitcoin. They are really doing their best to let it down and spread FUD online just to make it worthless. Real supporters of bitcoin won't be tilted. This will surely pass and bitcoin's value will bounce back again.

if you check al the predictions from the experts during the past 2-3 years
you would see that 99.9% of them were as far from the reality as possible
always use "qui bono" principle- when you read an article saying bitcoin will cost xxxxx $ in 2019 or 2018 or whenever
people who have nothing better to do is another big category Smiley they either get paid for  churning articles like that
or just blabber at some conferences to kill time and sell themselves as experts
but there are also people who are trying to influence the market with their statements, these are the ones with the most outlandish predictons:
100.000$ by the end of 2018 or bitcoin will fall to 1.500$ is their doing Smiley

Well, everyone agrees with the fact that the market is undervalued at this point but things will eventually improve over the period of time and we will see the bull run in the market. However, newbies are getting themselves under the fear of missing out and making decisions with the panic mindset. While big whales and institutional investors are acquiring higher units at a lower possible rate as it will reduce their average acquisition cost.

A lot of experts predicted a reversal prior to the drop, saying that towards the end of the year the price was going to recover...what happened? A big drop came out of nowhere, that's what happened. So, how are people supposed to believe in these pseudo experts when they always get things wrong? People shouldn't follow whatever bullcrap prediction these guys say, we're in the accumulation phase, if you want to buy now, then do it, follow your gut or do your own research, don't depend on external factors.

expert? Who is an expert? Anyone can become an expert, just free to post some so-called predictions.
It is precisely these so-called experts are constantly creating various FUDs that seriously disrupt the market. They sometimes blindly advocate the great interests of Bitcoin, and sometimes advocate bitcoin death theory to create panic. I have had enough of the so-called experts.
I want to say to any expert: Roll away, we don’t need you!
I also did not understand what was meant by the experts, so many claimed to be experts, so many felt panicked.
I also often hear them say that this is the end of Bitcoin travel, by hearing those words, many feel confused and panicked, but I don't see what the basis of their research source is, I think it's just a joke.

Firstly they has already been a whole lot of expert views and analyses concerning bitcoin and it's future some has been negative while some has been positive. But I have come to the realization that this a just speculation and might turn out to be wrong

A lot of speculation from experts are now available on the social, broadcast media. We heard  a lot of negative news as posted, But, one should remember the Market is Volatile, it is  unpredictable, no one knows on what will happen in the crypto market, all investor's knew the risk involved in the market, what had happen recently had already happened before, please review the  the market history. i am still believe that market correction will follow after such market drops.

Could there be a silver lining in all these?

I never get information from one source, I combine the opinions of others, with available facts and analysis to reach a suitable conclusion.
While we should never follow suggestions of others, it should not be simply disregarded as well.

I think the price would hold out above the $4000 mark, at least till the year runs out.

The price drop could cause a shake out,  which would further rid us of weak hands and those who are succumb easily to market movements, and panic. That's cold comfort though in this current situatiom

I was on his side (I might still am) before the recent price drop. I just don't know how to be optimistic any more
The thing with this is though, I have always been vocal about the biggest thing that bitcoin needs i.e. Acceptance. The ones who were here for profit were at least here, accepting it, promoting it organically.

Firstly they has already been a whole lot of expert views and analyses concerning bitcoin and it's future some has been negative while some has been positive. But I have come to the realization that this a just speculation and might turn out to be wrong
