Why do you guys always search for an answer? by the time you find a "plausible one" price already finished its move, and you lost your time on something that's not even sure. Everything is on the chart, just learn how to read the tape

I noticed that Bitcoin has lost much of its value this week.
You think it's because peoples have sold their Bitcoin when they saw the price increase?

i think it is true, since the price rise up to the $770+ and stopped for a while there, a lot of people panicked and started selling their coins that is why the price started to go down a little but this is just slowing down the process of price rise after the halving and will postpone it to later.

I think that after the halving is over the price is going to decrease, the price has now been rising all this time so it would only make sense for the price to drop a bit after all this rising.

Blame Bitfinex.

Why western traders keep entrusting this exchange is beyond me, they aren't even capable to migrate from their datacenter.

Hm ,big price down now but as i expected it will fluctuates and my experience there when bitcoin slightly stops to rise those who have no patient to wait sells and think that if they sell it late or this stop maybe a signal for them to sell.

Besides Bitfinex's problems other reason for this decrease is that $19 million in bitcoin were sold in australia.
Anyway you don't have to worry, ups and downs are normal and as someone mentioned before this is a good chance to take advantage and buy some btc.

People shouldn't worry about the bitcoins being sold by the Australia government. The price will never be known and just like previous US auctions, they are not likely to affect the market price.

To those who worries about the sudden decrease or drop of Bitcoin just take advantage of the current exchange rate as we are just a few days or weeks away from halving and don't forget the weekend pump that happens every weekend if you guys are observant. Holding the remaining coins that you have there would be a good idea than start selling them.

Yes, thew price went down but I don't think this will last for a long time. It could go up again in the upcoming days. Halving is close.

If by "this week" you mean the last 24 hours then yes , It lost some value.
I made a thread about it : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-it-went-from-780-to-708-in-hours-1521280 , most of people say it's because Bitfinex was down.
