Never, ever sell your bitcoins for less than what you paid! Only noobs panic sell. Wait until April. Wallstreet bigmoney is poised to enter the bitcoin market.

What's happening in april?

Look at the history of bitcoin and when it is most active....
April/May and at the end of the year are the historic boost periods.
Although looking at the chart February might be good aswell Smiley

There are better charts but I picked this one. Look at April 2011 and April 2013. April 2012 was low gain.
The chart is logarithmic btw.

Stupiest thing I ever heard was someone selling their btc for loss just to buy mining rigs for altcoins. I hope that's not you???

Just don't go overboard either way.  Sell half if you need the money but if you don't need it might as well hold and see what happens.  If you're around you can always sell if it goes south like crazy.

Greetings.
I have some savings in btc, and I'm waiting for a good moment for selling. I've seen that fabulous rise during past autumn, and I've seen that drop of December. Do you think the price will continue to grow in January? It is vital for me to sell as early as it can be done while minimizing the the losses (in fact, I bought most of my btc when it was about 900$), because now I plan to buy decent equipment to mine scrypt coins. With difficulty increasing each day, I think my reason is clear. So, what's your opinion on this?

hold your coin and buy scrypt coins....buying has always been more profitable than mining

Not always, especially in the beginning or very early stages.

A bit cynical in some ways but definately a +1 from me

Wait until April before selling. We are in slow months and according to last year, April must be a good profitable month.
Don't sell for a loss, the price is not going up or down at the moment and long term it has a good chance of going TO DA MOON!.

Nobody can give you an answer to this. I'd hold and wait till the price rises; seems silly selling now for a loss.
