Returns up?!

It never even went down to begin with. lol

If you are looking at the long term then yes, bitcoin is going up. What i was pointing at was the many dips bitcoin had before. Recently it went from 2200 to 1600 because of the fork that happened. Bitcoin has had many fall backs wich people used to make profit.

It tends to dip 500 dollar in only a few hours time... for example if you sell at 3500 and bitcoin has some bad news that day it would probably dip a few 100, buy at that point. When bitcoin reaches 3500 again you made profit. Simple as that.

In my opinion, the best thing to do since the value of bitcoin reaches new all time highs, is to sell 50% of the investments and hold on to another 50%. It might happen that the value reaches +$10000 by the end of this year. For the past few weeks, the value was continuously making its way up. The question is: how long it lasts for? It might also happen that the value crashes. So rather be on the safe side, enjoy benefits of your investment by exchanging 50% of your investment.
Sell 50% of the investments if you really need to buy some necessary stuff. Otherwise, it will be just wastage of a precious asset. Bitcoins prices rise up more than it depreciates. Its present worth is 4k dollars and a few days ago it was $3200. So, you can clearly see the rate at which it is expanding. Better save and earn more for future. Wait for a little while.

But I will be very rueful if after selling my 50% stock of Bitcoin the prices triplicate in a short while afterwards so in as much as you'd like to sell for profits we need to identify our respective points in time when we will feel safe to sell
My strategy is set more option target and when the price of Bitcoin reach them, my Bitcoin will automatic sell all in that time helps me.
However, depends the situation on market after take profit, I will buy back if the momentum growth of Bitcoin still strong.

The bitcoin growing price has no sign of stopping in 4k,it will reach 5k and going to 10k at the end of the year
If there is no correction time, there is no way we can make a quick profit,You can sell it now and gain profit, but you will miss the bigger profit at the end of the year

So in short, the prices have spiked by 2,000% during the last 18 months. If Bitcoin was a stock listed in major stock exchanges such as NASDAQ or the NYSE, then the media would have gone ballistic over this. How many times you have heard about the market cap of a stock rising by $60 billion in a duration of one and a half years?

The price is really high for the moment. I thought that after 01/08 it would have dropped, but instead it is now 4200+$...
I am hoping that the price will fall and then buy some more, but only future will tell  Smiley

We should do what we have to do

Let's share for those of us who have not been able to predict bitcoin prices can take the best step
In my opinion here in this field not everything depends upon the predictions but also depends upon the stretagy to handle the money and perfect use of the money at perfect timing .
Here i myself making investment of the money in those coins which are at high price and also having a better future And also investment in those coins which are at low price with better technology like xvg coin and rdd coin .
So don't think about the much the increasing and decreasing of the price of the bitcoin .
Personally if i bought the bitcoin at high price then after that price getting down then i bought small again and if again get down then bought in small amount again , in this way I managed my loss and changed into profit by perfect investment also .

Immediate target is $5000, then the price would correct a bit as expected, before resuming up trend.

Nah man, every person have their own business. Actually the price of bitcoin is really high and i think it's a bit over, i'm afraid the bitcoin price will go down soon and i don't want take that risk, i prefer sell all my bitcoins right now before the price going down soon. Well, we don't know what will happen soon but i just playing safe.

You bring up a good point!  I should have mentioned risk tolerance in my earlier post.

Everyone's risk tolerance is different and is a mix of what they can afford to lose and the make-up of their personality.

There is no doubt that bitcoin will rise and then fall down unpredictably and as what I am seeing this is a bit common, we already knew that when bitcoin rises, it will fall back but not as low as before and then it will rise again, same system over and over. There is no questioning about that, but still it depends on the person holding if what is he or she going to do with his/her bitcoins, whether sell it or hold it for any longer goals, its up to them.

Exactly!   Cool

I think If we get BTC at high price Should be put on hold first  but if we get BTC in low price we should selling .I predict the price of bitcoin will continue to rise

I think you are right.

There are predictions of up to $10K over the next 12 months and even more going forward.

Buy/Sell decisions depend on your goals and outlook.  If your outlook is long, holding might be your option.  If your goal is income, buying in the dips and selling as the price rises is a good option as well.

There are so many variables in this market that is it not possible to say when is an absolute best time to buy or sell.

Someone mentioned earlier that there is no right answer.  I agree; it all depends on your outlook and goals...

None knows which price is the peak point to sell, so that it's good to keep hold of the price with certain price by which it needs to be sold. The price volatility has been increasing, same time even after price drop it has been gaining resistance to move forward.

bitcoin is not just about how much fiat profit you can gain from its rise, it is a lot more than just fiat. and people who think otherwise and are only interested in the profit they should sell as fast as possible and get out.
that would open up room for those who want to use bitcoin not get fiat profit. and as we get more of these type of people price will also go a lot higher.

Watching some BTC/USD markets over this weekend, it looks like some investors decided to take profits after BTC hit $4200.  The price dipped to around $3400, but over the last few hours it appears to have stabilized at just above $4000.

Can't wait to see what happens going forward this week!  This ride is far from over!!

For me I decided to sell my bitcoin because the price for me is reasonable enough, I think it already gives good income for those who keep their bitcoin months ago. Imagine from $2800 now it $4000. I am contented with that income but of course we have our own personal decision and beliefs if other would like to keep their bitcoins it's up to them besides the value of bitcoin is still growing maybe they are expecting higher than $4000.

We should invest our bitcoins and buy other currencies such as eth coins, ltc, nxt, xlp, xem, and etc. So when we multiply our coin investment, it will be more and more also the results we get.

this is a good chance for most investors, now that they have capital appreciation, they can cash out their gains, however the target price is still at 5k USD and the price right now is not yet or over 5K USD, i think they need to reconsider, knowing that bitcoin is volatile in nature. I believe that a crash might happen but not to the point it will plummet down, it might just go down around hundreds of dollars and in a few weeks or even days, it will gain back its power, but as of now, this bullish run, will be for a longer period of time, considering that there are a lot of Chinese investors who respects ghost month, and after ghost month, surely prices will sky rocket.

There are traders that go on a quick profit. So if they see that the price swings is good enough for them to make a profit, then of course they are going to sell. But there are investors who are in for the long term. So even if the price drops a bit, then don't panic and sell bitcoin but rather just hold on it because we all know that the price of it can increase as what we are really seeing right now. So the answer to your question really depends on the individual goal, take a quick profit everyday or every week or stay on it for a long haul.

There's no correct or wrong choice about selling or holding. You can't really judge someone for selling BTC instead of holding it. No one can actually predict if the price goes up or down, sure thing is that it cannot keep increasing forever. Deciding to hold your bitcoins won't save the price from falling, thousands others are selling, there's no wrong choice in any of the two.

agree, It's depend on your own stratey. If you're a day trader, you'll often do sell and buy so there's no correct or wrong choice .If you're a long term trader, You'll often do  a buy, than a sell, because a longterm trader hold their investmen they hit a take profit target. And when the dump is come, Long term trader will buy more and wait.

We can bring up facts and other predictions here but still it will be the users choice and most of them is to just HOLD. That is why the price is bursting like that.
The selling point? That is unknown and I dont think there is one.
They say some of them are wise to have sold at the right time but I say they just got lucky.
Even if you read the most old account here that could post the most likely to happen, it doesn't say it will really be what will happen.
Bitcoin price is so unpredictable and now it just go up like crazy again.

what you want to do is up to you sir, but for me, I won't sell my bitcoin now because I am waiting next up price and I think I have enough patience to waiting the price. bitcoin price will be increase more and maybe will reach $5xxx in the early September so we can sell at that price. meanwhile, if you decide to sell your bitcoin, maybe you can split your bitcoin to buy altcoin too because the chance for altcoin to go up is bigger than before beside that altcoin will be reach new level price soon.

You might have good intensions but this isnt something you can deside for another person. Not everyone agree's that bitcoin will go much down again as an example. Ofcourse you can sell now and probably buy again when or if bitcoin makes a dip. But a trader might make more profit using those btc on the marcket instead of waiting months to see bitcoin at the top prive again. Let's just see what happens and make your own decisions based on your own knowledge.
