Things are going to get worse before they get better...February will be more dismal pricing....I would guess all the way down to 5K$ BTC.... Be ready for March with things turning around, BTC will bounce back to 10K$ fast and then hit 40K by July. Possibly to 100,000 by years end.

What are your price speculations guys?

short term, long term, quarterly, monthly ?

please share statistics if you got any.

thanks.

In monthly term, you can expect increasing Bitcoin price in the range of 12k-15k USD. You can read from news that Perth Mint (Australian Gold Refinery) announces that they plan to develop cryptocurrency, those are great news so you can expect that Bitcoin price will increase. I also read that Venezuela is planning to launch a national cryptocurrency ''Petro''.

The petro is an interesting idea which im following closely, but I really doubt it's execution is going to be worthwile. The point of cryptocurrencies is to decentralize and de-nationalize money. The petro just nationalizes and centralizes an asset which is (allegedly) backed by an underlying, in this case oil reserves.

I doubt this isn't going to end up in anything but more poverty, as Maduro isn't going to allow free-flow of capital.

Yep most people now seem to miss that crypto also is about moving away from politics overwhelming capitalism and free trade.    The IMF also proposed the use of blockchains but it would only be at values they determine by committee and awarded to entities they see fit, which is not capitalism its party politics.    I believe XRP Ripple operates this way, they self mined every coin themselves long ago and then partner with powerful companies to ensure its use continues, this fails to serve the smallest of growth in an economy.  BTC needs to return to its roots

We are currently in a straight down trend since one month. The last similar downtrend was June-July 2017. The price recovered right afterward. The difference is, back in those days, bitcoin wasn't as mainstream as it is now. Plus, there was no gov ban or regulation, no btc futures, no newcomers that got squeezed...
I'd say that there is 60-70% chances that we should go through a bear market before the next recovery. In that case, I think that the recovery would painfully lead us to ~15K usd at the end of 2018 or later.

Clearly investing on bitcoin is a long-term one, in order for you to achieved the desired level of returned of income you want to achieved, you need to be patient towards it, because it is something not given on a short period of time.

Just today market again started creating a panic situation as its dropping and below 7.5k. Its a huge drop from the high in Dec. But again we need to hold and should be patience. Its a testing time for all the investors and make some more investment now to average out the price.

Speculation, All of it is just speculation on what is ahead for bitcoin but yes all of us are clinging to them for people that can analyze the movement of bitcoin and other Cryptocurrency even though all of it are just prediction of what's next for bitcoin we are seeing it as a clinging hope on what's possibly next for bitcoin, And in my opinion lets all buckle up and wait if bitcoin is still in a resistance or the month of February will be hopeful for us.

I can't decide to short term, so I'm sticking to alts trading and swaping.

In long term, I believe BTC will hit 20K to the end of 2018.
Hard to give a speculation about the price of bitcoin for short term only. But we have to define on how long short term is, if that is only this whole month of February it will stay at $10,000 - $11,000. And for long term, saying about the end of 2018, I don't think that it will only be good at $20,000. It can possibly go higher than that price, $25,000 - $40,000 and there are some speculations that are even saying it can be at $100,000.

If you take a look of the bitcoin price chart from the beginning, you can see that there we always some small drops in price. proportional to the price then. January 2016, the price went down for about 76% (from $979 to $229) so now if you look at the todays drop (from $17549 to $11204 as of right now) us only ~36% of price drop, meaning that this is two times smaller drop than it was two years ago. My prediction is that the price will be stable for a month or two ~$12k, then will start going up slowly.

This isn't anything new, people are just making a fuss about it because it wen't "for that much" but it's still a smaller drop that it was back then.

The linear chart can be very misleading. Logarithmic models are the most accurate so far. Just look at this one before the $20,000 peak:

When it was predicted and posted around, most people said it was crazy to think we would hit $10,000 in 2017, and we hit double of that, which means this chart is actually conservative, as it predicts $10,000 to be the floor in 2020. Im starting to fathom as realistic $1,000,000 by 2024 at this rate, and I don't think we'll see massive selloffs that will hit the bottom of that model (as in from $100,000 to $10,000 and $1,000,000 to $100,000)

and finally the breakout can happen by the end of February and we can expect a new ATH pretty soon afterwards.
If there aren't any actual developments when it comes to new future markets, or an ETF, or even more successful lightning network tests, there is no real ground for such prediction.

From there it makes more sense to see the market remain stagnant over a period of at least a few months. At most a breakout to $14-$15,000 is the best possible scenario for now, but the current range seems fairly steady.

I think if the support at least keeps the price over the $10,000 mark, we are doing pretty well, especially without any new developments to function as trigger for a new rush.

You may want to check this website:

Again, no one can predict where the price would go, but I just used it as my guide. I'm not endorsing it as well, so used with precaution. Personally, we have been struggling to break the 12,000 barrier. So short term I would say around $15,000 would be a safe bet. And at the end of the year, I'm seeing $30,000. Its' discouraging though that governments around the world are colluding to regulate bitcoin, this is a very critical and will impact its price negatively, however, I'm optimistic that we can overcome this hurdle and bitcoin can still go up around $30,000++ in 2018.

short term we will probably continue seeing the same price for at least 1 more week. meaning staying around $11000.
in medium term price will go to the previous bottom of $14000 and probably we will have a big bear trap over there with a little drop to kick bear's butts.
and finally the breakout can happen by the end of February and we can expect a new ATH pretty soon afterwards.

On short term I don't have many hopes to see BTC rising. The situation is stable near $11.000 and I'm not convinced it's going to change soon without any solid reason. In my opinion we depend an upgrade in Bitcoin to see it skyrocketing again, Lightning Network would be nice, but then I don't know if it will happen on medium or long term. Some small events like governments regulating, banning Bitcoin can affect the price too, but they are unpredictable.

If talking about bitcoin then I will make long-term investments, I know that bitcoin prices can change very quickly. Because I will maximize investment on bitcoin Because bitcoin is very profitable. My speculation that bitcoin prices will again reach new records this year. And conversely, for altcoin I would opt for short term investments because investing in altcoin is quite risky. Look at altcoin movements that are highly volatile when altcoin gains even a little bit of sentiment.

I believe that in the near term BTC will hang out in it's current range. Once all the gubmints get their taxes and regulations in place I believe it will rise mainly based on supply limitation and notoriety. Big rise or small is hard to say but with all the competition out there with more useful and lower fee transactions I lean towards smaller rise. But what do I know? : P
