Hello,

with the upcoming Bitcoin Private fork, i really wan't to get some free Bitcoins Private coins equal to my BTC.
From what i gathered my BTC have to be on a wallet, where i am in controll of my private key, right?
- But what if my BTC are on my trezor hardware wallet? There i only know my 24 seed words.
- Am i right in the assumption that i will get no Bitcoin Private coins for the BTC on Binance?

Don't move coins if you really neeed to. If fork will be sucessfull then you can move them but there is no sence use that privit coin before.
Till it won't be worth risking your BTC don't move it.
Even if you wil muve orginal BTC noone will give you protection from hackers fake wallets ext.

A supporting exchange is a good idea, but also as with many other forks some techniques are in place to retro claim the forked coins, so don't be in too much of a hurry and rush to decisions..

If you are interested in getting more of bitcoin private then you might want to look at zClasic because you will get 1:1 ratio no matter which coin you hold : btc or zClasic. Although I can't vouch that zClasic won't dump after fork is made and can't vouch for price of bitcoin private either. Bitcoin private will have to prove themselves that they are not simply taking btc name and gain fast recognition or else it could dump as well.

Thank you for the informative answers!! A little follow-up question: If i move my BTC to a wallet like BTC Core or Exodus and then move it back to my trezor after the snapshoot (after the 28.02), can i then use the private key of the wallet (BTC Core or Exodus) to claim my BTCP?

Of course assuming BTC Core and/or Exodus are supporting the fork.

Wherever your funds happen to reside at the time of the fork, that's the private key / seed words you'll need to spend your funds on the other chain.  The developers of those wallets don't necessarily have to "support" the fork in question for it to work.

The only other thing to be wary of is what's known as "replay".  Depending on how the forked chain have implemented their hardfork, it's possible to inadvertently spend funds from your Bitcoin wallet if you move funds from the forked chain.  If I remember, I'll do some checking later on whether that's a possible issue with this fork or not and update this post (assuming someone doesn't beat me to it).

//EDIT:  That looks fine, their whitepaper explicitly states they're implementing two-way replay protection.

Yes.  If you leave your coins on an exchange or webwallet, it's entirely their decision whether or not they'll choose to give you the forked coins.  I've had no dealings with Binance, so I can't say if they would or not.

That's fine.  As long as the blockchain shows you own those coins at the time of the fork, the forked chain will automatically show the same.  Just be careful with those seed words.  If your device has any keyloggers or malware when you type them in, or if you've inadvertently installed a malicious wallet client instead of a genuine one, you could potentially lose your funds.  Scammers do take advantage of forks to defraud people.  Be incredibly security conscious if you're dealing with any large amounts you can't afford to lose.

Binance is usually pretty good at giving away forked coins, but they're only really going to do it for forks that have a good amount of a movement and publicity. I doubt that this is one of them.

I'd keep my coins in a place like electrum, or any wallet which allows YOU to have your private keys and then handle it as you have to after the fork.

Goodluck and be safe with your keys!

If you want to get what you expect better store bitcoin in a supportive market, and that's one way to get it, hopefully you succeed.
