This is a great time to buy more BTC and that's exactly what I am going to do
im also buing some bitcoins from time to time because i have a feeling that we will be making money out of it when the price growths after this small frop
I don't feel this as a small drop. I was disappointed by seeing the price this morning, there should be some reason behind it.  I can't guess it correctly.

Get ready! It ain't over yet. By the time you get up in the morning it will be $590 again.
Then the buying spree will happen in a massive cluster of organism proportions! Cheesy
Bitcoin price has made little progress during the past week and the market is falling away from $630 now. I hope there should be an increase for this drop within few weeks.

with every rise there is a drop and with every drop there is a rise.

if you want to figure out what is going on you should take a look at the bigger picture, it means you should zoon out of the chart and look at it on a higher interval to figure out the over all changes.

1. I is not that price of BTC is dropping, it is pretty much stable ATM, at least for a highly volatile asset bitcoin is. No need to worry.
2. We have almost exactly situation as we observed after the first bitcoin halving. Markets needs a time to advance, expect price rise in in a couple months.
3. We had pretty much drastic price increase right before the halving, more than 30%.
So what you're saying is that is was partially a bubble, and not we have to wait out this bear run and wait for the bulls to get involved? Having a 30% increase in the value of Bitcoin definitely seems like some bubble territory to me, and I think a correction right now is a good thing. I just hope it doesn't take "a few months" to go back up, because it isn't always a great thing to have to wait a long period of time. Maybe the market will catch up a bit sooner than that?

As for the value going down, I guess it really is buy time. I might pick up some more once the market stops going down, but I'll wait. I'm in no rush to lose more than time and energy.

Maybe just end of month effect(you know, people need to pay bills, electricity, rent, etc.., and they can't pay them with BTC).

Maybe people got bored and are just selling.

Maybe we are about to see some bad news and people with inside info are selling now.

Who knows

-5% doesn't much seem like "end of the month effect" to me!!!
the price's been going sideway & small volumes for weeks & there wasn't much pump, as expected by many, after the halving,
people getting bored & pulling out sound more like it!

and if there's bad news i'm all for it; buy time!

hello everyone. I just want to know what maybe the reasons, why the btc prize is dropping?and after the halving. it did not even increase as more bitcoin users is expecting. So please educate me about this. thank you.
Halving only decreases the amount of coin being mined, but it will not do anything about the price of bitcoin.
Some users says that bitcoin will increase but this was only a speculation.

Looks like the price is gradually decrease from yesterday price i saw that the price is 653 something and now the price is 630 something..
I think the price of bitcoin will not go down and i think the price of bitcoin increase again..
Just lets hope the price will not fall again..

Actually, I think there is a fair chance for the price to go down even more. Especially when you consider the sentiment that is going down more and more after the block halving. People simply expected too much from the halving, which right now is resulting in a slightly bearish market. My guess is that the $600 level will get tested again within 2 weeks.
Not only from the after math of that fact but from the China miner's closed door meet that ended hours ago just when the price fell so much in a short amount of time.
Coincidence? I think not  Roll Eyes

It's not that the price went down a lot, just a small bump on the road. So yes, I surely think it is pure coincidence as the price was due for a drop anyway. And if it isn't coincidence, then one of the pools in question, or a wealthy holder that was attending the meeting, just dumped a good number of coins. But I believe more in the first option of this being coincidence.

Dropped significantly, but I think there will be a price correction after the weekend.
This is probably because of everyone selling to pay for rent, taxes, or whatever the hell else their other monthly expenses are. You see something like this basically every end of the month, and I'm fairly confident that if you go back and check on whether or not there are drops at the end of every month you'll see that there are more often than not drops which are corrected over the following week.

before the drop about 1.7Million$ in longs covered.
~6hours later... CRASH! shorts went from ~18K to ~21.7K BTC during those 30min, now shorts continue to rise.
and then ~1million in new longs were taken after the drop.

not sure wtf shorters are expecting to accomplish...

It is just like the same when a week ago the price of bitcoin reached to $685, and then it started to come lower and now it reached to $635 , I think a passive fluctuation has been started in the price of bitcoin just like two months ago when there was a passive fluctuation in the price of bitcoin and then suddenly the price started to increase and within a few weeks the price of bitcoin reached to $750 from $450.

After a long stable price around $650, the gradual rise took the price close to $660 from which the price has started to decrease and now staying at $637. Lets hope for a good increase in price soon.

bitcoin price decreases. Current prices range between 635USD - 640USD. a substantial decline compared to previous day. there seems to be negative news makes less bitcoin enthusiasts. but I hope bitcoin can increase.

As far as I'm concerned there aren't any news to cause a drop. This is just the usual market patterns. We can't expect the price to just always rise can we.

That is true. A 5% drop should be no real cause for concern.
Considering the run that we have had this year, a minor pullback is inevitable.

Good chance that people are selling part of there Bitcoins because the expected price increase after the halving still didn't happen. Think that some people invested some big money in the hope that the price would go the moon. Maybe it was to optimistic to even think that the price would go that fast.
In all honesty, why would someone expect the price to increase further after the block halving while we have had the increase before the block halving?

That doesn't really make sense to me. Those who are hoping for more increases than we already have had, simply don't know anything about the market.

I know what happened not so long ago. But now something all the sudden is happening to the price.
But in the opposite direction as most if not all people thought was going to happen because of that.

It's probably the logical thing ... less demand.
There is nothing to be afraid of since miners didn't stop mining and HashRate increased since the halving block reward 1,549,464,390 GH/s ATM.

it is a process that every other market goes through it, maybe longer in bitcoin. the price goes down because of some dumps and news to test the bottom and check to see how ready the but support is, in order to let the price shoot to the moon afterwards.
so prepare for a jump back and some more possible down trends like this and then a big rise.

hello everyone. I just want to know what maybe the reasons, why the btc prize is dropping?
again it is a common question asked everyday by someone in this community and is not answerable because bitcoin is unpredicatable. btw, the drop is not so big that we should panic.

and after the halving. it did not even increase as more bitcoin users is expecting. So please educate me about this. thank you.
halving is not something which can sky rocket the btc price in just a few weeks. it takes time. if you ever come back in the end of this year then you will notice some drastic changes in the price of btc and i am sure that would be due to the halving effect. btw, the big pump just a few days before the halving didn't satisfied you ?

On Jun 18, 2016, we hit a high of $789. Ever since then, we've been dropping. Yesterday's drop to 635 is just a part of bitcoin being bitcoin, that is it behaves just the opposite of what most people expect it to do. Some of the bulltards above boasted of $20K bitcoin price after the halving. If we were in 2013, they might have been right; however, we're not in 2013, we are now in 2016. Times are different, the market dynamics are different. Bitcoin fundamentals have proven to be weak, the core developers are weak minded and incompetent. Satoshi's little experiment may be coming to be an epic failure.

First you should correct the title replace prize with price Wink maybe after you would be able to know there is nothing to be worry about it, it's just normal into crypto world and I'm pretty sure it can be get recovered just in few hours, because nobody can know what is going to happen.

There have been some extremely boring weeks for bitcoin, so a price move was in the making for some time now. It has only dropped about 25 usd so far, it might go a bit further though, maybe another 25 or so. Atleast, I don't think this was the only movement we are going to see.

If price drops 100 or more in an hour, than it might be time to start looking for a reason, although you are probably too late by then.

You mean the BTC price; prize si something you can win in a giveaway while price is the value of something (food, clothes, currency, etc).

The price going down and up is something normal with BTC. You can check the live price chart and see how the price fastly changed in the last years. That's exactly why BTC is a great trading currency. However, even with the price dropping tens of bucks a day, you'll see soon a HUGE increase. I'm expecting a $1k price in the following year.

It is not just bitcoin...most of the currencies' price are dropping. But I think it is pretty normal for bitcoin. probably most of the traders are selling their bitcoin just to book profits and due to the high sell volume, the price is dropping.

But I am sure there's nothing to panic about. It will come back to normal soon.

nobody really knows and every explanation given is just a more or less wild guess. this things happen a lot with bitcoin, but also with other assets. although with bitcoin this seem to happen more often than with fiat currencies, which is the reason many people think bitcoin is not stable enough to become a widely used currency. but that is also just an opinion.
