Op Bitcoin is a decentralized currency which when it was first introduced to the world, it was not been acceptable by the government, even upto date it never be accepted generally by the government, but what i want to put in nutshell is that since people across the world have noticed the important of Bitcoin the adoption took another dimension. It's acknowledgeable to extend the news and transaction of Bitcoin into localities so that will not be unaware of cryptocurrency and especially bitcoin.

And in that regard OP is doing a good job by advertising and accepting bitcoin in his business. If everyone here running a business can do that it will help spread the word on bitcoin further. I admire the courage of those who have a way of telling others about bitcoin and they should be encouraged. Am putting merit on Op for that.

This is really impressive 👍
With such move I believe your locality would get to know more about bitcoin and lot of people around will love using it as a means of payment rather than fiat.
Thanks for your efforts.

It gives me pleasure doing so. I have been in this movement for sometime now and doing it deligently. So far the results have been impressive and I am happy with the outcome. So far so good it is what I have passion for so doing it is not an issue but you know there are always little challenges in one way or the other which one needs to carefully handle and handling it takes wisdom and self control to do so. Although I encounter some challenges sometimes when on the course of doing the campaign but you know one way or another it would get settled so it is not too much for me to handle. I will urge every one to follow up in their various locality. If atleast you can talk to one or two vendors I believe one amongst them would buy the ideas, just take the possibility and probability so and gradually, you will see the massive adoption growing up with speed.

Here in our country, bitcoin is not banned nor legalized; we are in the natural on it, and we still got announced that we are the second "ownership of cryptocurrency.", which is a massive adoption in our country, despite the fact that we don't have laws about it. All countries can easily adopt it as long as it is not prohibited in their respective countries.
Completely prohibited and completely prohibited. So the rules are in the middle between allowing or not. in my country Bitcoin can only be used for the commodity market and not more than that. If it is used as a means of payment for goods and services then it is against the rules.

Of lately there is a suden surge or increase in Bitcoin holders. Smart investors and traders are rushing in to hold more Bitcoin while new ones are onboarding the system to purchase more of Bitcoin. -snip-
The more bitcoin holders, the more trusted bitcoin will be. The company that holds the most bitcoins is still dominated by Microstrategy Inc. with a total of 129,699 BTC and followed by Marathon Digital Holding in second place with 10,054 BTC.

Big organizations owns the largest volume of Bitcoin  in their various choice third party exchanges. They do so because they have funds in their disposal to acquiring Bitcoin in such volume compared to single individuals. Theirs no comparison between both variables as they are far much not near to each other. Individuals buy in bit and fractions they are the daily traders that use Bitcoin in their daily transactions compared to this whales that stacked up such volume in a particular wallet for a long time. It is not the volume but the activities that counts. Hence small holders of Bitcoin are likely the market markers as they do daily transactions than the whales who stacked up Bitcoin in one wallet without daily activities.

Throughout this year we could see a big number of our Bitcointalk members involved into spreading the word about bitcoin. Much needed thing for the increasing real-time usage. Word of mouth is more effective than something that is being advertised or promoted through some other means.

There is increase of bitcoin users over time. This will surely make more customers use bitcoin payment for the services received in the coming days. For the users who have added cryptocurrency acceptance it is time to have patience, because immediately we won't be receiving much of users paying with bitcoin.
correctly. Of course, we hope that these efforts will bear fruit in the future. and actually bitcoin holders continue to increase. when the price of bitcoin has fallen but in fact many new investors have entered. This can be seen from the increasing number of bitcoin holders. And this is a positive thing for the future growth of bitcoin users.

You are very much correct. Of lately there is a suden surge or increase in Bitcoin holders. Smart investors and traders are rushing in to hold more Bitcoin while new ones are onboarding the system to purchase more of Bitcoin. Now is the right time to bag more as the price is low. No one  can tell how the next bullrun would come and the next all time high as expected. Every wise investor in the system knows so and hence the increase in purchase of Bitcoin. While the weak hands are selling, the diamond hands are busy  accumulating more Bitcoin waiting for the next bullrun. This will help make Bitcoin be in circulation and every decimals of Bitcoin will definitely count when the time comes.

No matter with big or small business kinds I think Bitcoin keep worth when accepting as payment currencies, make easy when transaction actually adopted Bitcoin as payment way because costumer seems easy when have Bitcoin as alternative way for payment currencies.
Adoption is limited to regulation, meaning that the speed of adoption is very slow when your country's government does not legalize bitcoin as legal tender. Everyone also knows that bitcoin provides a lot of convenience in transactions, but you can't go against government regulations.

I don't know if the country and government where OP lives legalizes bitcoin as a means of payment, but if it is legal then the speed of adoption there will be even good.
I wonder if his country legalize bitcoin and other crypto, but then here in us there's a place where being popular in the internet now because they are accepting crypto payments but given that our country doesn't legalized it still his business is still running with no problem for now, I don't see that it can really affect the government if the establishment is not yet big I mean they still paying for taxes of course because their business is Registered. A country can easily adopt bitcoin if it is legalize to the government to prevent any big problems in the future.

If bitcoin is banned in their country, I am sure he will not accept it since he will be targeted by the police or government for what he has done, so I'm sure it is legal. he won't promote btc payment if the situation with btc is not legal in their country. a lot of countries don't have the finality when it comes to crypto market, like there are no laws in terms of crypto taxation. but they have no laws also stating that dealing with btc is illegal. so more then likely, it is fine for them to deal with btc so long they know the risks involved.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
Recommendation: Google some photos of "Bitcoin accepted here" and "we accept Bitcoin". You know, those with the Bitcoin logo. It's simply just more appealing.

Something like this:

What is what doing is what doing well. Some color photos of Bitcoin accepted will be more appealing as advised by mk4. An upgrade will be very nice.
This type of scenario is where lighting network is highly recommended. It is need to ensure profits will not go into transaction fees.
In general I commmed your efforts to spread the goodnews of bitcoin in your locality.

That's the same question I have in mind , maybe the barber has a way in which he operates with bitcoin sent to him as payment , this can even be a method of accumulating bitcoin. It is a good promotion and adoption,  bitcoin acceptance for business is not only for big businesses but also good for small businesses, he is doing the right thing for accepting bitcoin as payment. Op has done a great work by introducing bitcoin to a barber.

Day by day will increase with many kinds of business have accepted with Bitcoin for payment currencies but have regulation from some countries not allowed when using Bitcoin as payment way have little trouble. I faced in my countries with difficult thing when accepting Bitcoin as payment currency because have announced from government Bitcoin is available for investment way only and can't adopted for payment currency.

In as much as we glamor for Bitcoin adoption, and the general adoption of Bitcoin as a decentralized alternative e-currency. we should also have in mind that bitcoin is not a crowdfunding Scheme so at that there is no need to be compulsive in finding new Bitcoin believers, I highly recommend personally discovery of Bitcoin by individuals that way their motivation will be self determine on like when a third party introduced Bitcoin to them. It will require a lot of knowledge building this has to take time because you will need to educate them on so many things e.g, wallets, exchanges, and other payment gateways. And since is a business setting, the targeted customers will also require basic knowledge of Bitcoin to be able to use it for payment at the barbershop. I tried something similar to this some time back but it didn't work out as planned because I was teaching a couple of forks in my neighborhood, but they lost their motivation about Bitcoin adoption when the market crashed but then it was not Bitcoin that made them lose but altcoins did, because most of them were looking for quick bulks from the market and they did not mind the high volatility since there we're not patient enough to gain adequate knowledge but were after profits.

I would like to ask the OP, considering the price instability and since I didn't read anything about a cold wallet, will he convert the bitcoin received to a stable coin or will he leave it in bitcoin? I would love you to do a follow up on this and let us know how the business person is faring with it- how receptive are his customers to the new payment option.

My guess is that if he only receives a small payment in bitcoin, he will keep it as a bitcoin and will not convert it because his goal is to save all the bitcoin he receives from his customer's payment, and it is also a kind of savings on his part; I know it is a small amount, but it will add up over time. Small businesses are really adopting bitcoin payments; I don't know about the big businesses since bitcoin is very volatile. I think that is the reason that only a few establishments don't accept it, but this can be resolved if it is converted into stable coins or their own currency.
On the other hand, if he receives large amounts of money in btc as payment he must adopt an instant exchange method to fiat, because he is going to need this income intact for daily expenses, improvement and maintenance of his business. He can't risk holding too much money in bitcoin because we are in a bearish market where the bottom is still unknown. More crashes are still a possibility and small businessmen have to protect themselves against this threat.

It's hard to assure many customers are going to execute payments in bitcoin, though, as it's a relatively new technology for most areas in our countries. More adopters are needed first.

Looking for gigs
This reminds me of what I have been doing lately.

Since we’re already moving on from this COVID-19 pandemic, IRL blockchain conferences are finally back around the world. It means to say that I can finally resume what I wanna do after all of these years of just doing virtual stuff only.

Hosting community meetups

I’ve started this campaign last August with only 13 people attending our meetup. Thanks to my 2 years of building and gaining more connections in the space during the pandemic, I have managed to have at least some little sponsors ranging from $50 to $100, which was good enough to cover the venue which is consumable for food and drinks.

Then I continued on every month until today and I never stopped. Then, I started getting noticed by some Bitcoin, crypto, NFT, Web3 and metaverse space in the nation’s capital in which they’ve shared and featured my small events unexpectedly.

I started with one place. But I have recently decided to expand it to other areas due to the demand from the community members. Since no one in their respective cities and provinces have held Bitcoin events, I’ve decided to step up and spearhead this campaign.

I didn’t care how much I’ve spent (e.g., travel expenses, accommodation, venue, etc.) because I’m blessed in many ways. I even am not doing this for my own benefit, gain or popularity. I just wanted to see more Bitcoin crypto meetups in various cities and provinces who are not yet aware of this one rather than in the most common cities and get noticed.

Eventually it slowly worked. Now some projects have reached out to me for collaborations and community partnerships to hold an event in the area that I am usually having local meetups.

The best time to build connections is when things are going quiet in the Bitcoin and crypto space.

I still believe we have a whole lot of work to do because the grassroots are still uninformed about the Bitcoin story because at the grassroots, there the masses strength lies. The big companies that accept Bitcoin are just at the surface doing their own deals and making huge profits from it all but the middle and lower class are yet to tap into the Bitcoin emergent over the years upon inception. We have to take it to the locals in our various places.

It gives me joy to see small businesses accepting bitcoin as a payment option, especially in this current market. In fact, I think it takes a lot of courage to do so. I understand that it is a good way to promote bitcoin, but I would like to ask the OP, considering the price instability and since I didn't read anything about a cold wallet, will he convert the bitcoin received to a stable coin or will he leave it in bitcoin? I would love you to do a follow up on this and let us know how the business person is faring with it- how receptive are his customers to the new payment option.

In fact, it is not very convenient to accept payments in Bitcoins due to the problem of large commissions and this is still the main reason. But in general, there is some kind of system made for paying with bitcoins, but for some reason very few people use this system. This system has very low commissions when transferring bitcoins, almost zero commissions. In this system, the problem of large commissions has been solved, it would seem that everything is there to be used to pay for bitcoin, but for some reason no one uses it. This is a paradox!!! I forgot what this system is called, but the paradox itself is that no one uses it. It seems to me much more rational to use the Matic token as payment. It's great for microtransactions and commissions are small! Yes, now many brands are switching to MATIC, even Mercedes is integrating this token.

good initiative and exemplary. Small movements can sometimes bring about big changes.

do not underestimate a job that looks simple because sometimes simple things can be more useful and easier to accept. no need to teach directly on a large scale. however on a small scale like the OP did it is great.

I also started from myself and then to family and friends.

but unfortunately in my country bitcoin cannot be used as a means of payment because it is still illegal and I think it is the same in many countries besides El Salvador. (although I have used it in several transactions with several shops and friends.)

maybe if one day in my country (Indonesia) bitcoin and crypto have been legalized as alternative legal means of payment. then there will be an explosion of shopkeepers and businesses in my country who will accept bitcoin and crypto as a means of payment.

why do i say it like that? because I have realized that in Indonesia most people who actively use the internet are familiar with bitcoin.
while internet users in Indonesia are very large, millions of people have used it. Even remote areas are not left behind in today's internet use.

even in the past or rather in the past few years before bitcoin became famous. I read that in Indonesia at that time many accepted bitcoin as a means of payment.
like in 2014-2018 to be precise in the area of Bali, Indonesia. there are already many restaurants and hotels that accept payment by bitcoin. (Restoran dan Hotel di Bali Sekarang Menerima Bitcoin).

even the number of shops that accept bitcoin payments in the area is quite a lot, around 44 more shops. but in 2018 the government banned these shops from accepting bitcoin as a means of payment. because the state has not ratified it. (mulai cafe hingga agen perjalanan di bali terima bitcoin &
bi bereskan 44 toko di bali yang pakai bitcoin
. so the surprising fact is that many Indonesians have been ready with bitcoin even since 2014. but for now we obey the laws of countries that have not legalized it.

The thing is...

You can introduce someone to Bitcoin and you can even inspire them to accept it as a payment option in their shop or business, but if there are not people using it as a currency.... those businesses will stop accepting it as a payment option.

Bitcoin's volatility encourage people to rather use Bitcoin as a Commodity or an investment ...so people are hesitant to use it as a "Currency" ...because they anticipate huge profits on the horizon.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Therefore, it is advisable to introduce such payment in areas where people potentially know about cryptocurrency. Of course, we are not talking about tomato traders in the market, but this will work well in the IT field.

But it is also a question if there is someone who pays Bitcoin for him. Because the truth is that even if we spread information that we are accepting Bitcoin but if the people around you don't know about Bitcoin that seems useless. Several stores are already accepting Bitcoin now and it was a trend already, especially in the place where Bitcoin is legal and many users but to our place, I'm not sure how many people are using Bitcoin as currency as it is likely just solely an investment.

In line with the global adoption and promotion of bitcoin for which  I am a member of this community, fulfilling one of the course for which this community have long being on the move. I decided to take the bitcoin adoption and promotion movement to my locality. My major targets are vendors, traders, skilled and unskilled labors in my locality and my neighborhood. To start with, I met this barber in my locality, he is good at his work and gives nice haircut. I took my time to talk with him about bitcoin and how it works.  At the first stance, he was reluctant and said he does not really have digital knowledge and it would be a kind of difficult for him to go through it but I assured him he would like it when I start putting him through the whole process and he gave in. I started by giving him hint on technological innovation towards digital currency with Bitcoin as topic and subject of discussion. He picked interest in the discussion and started asking me questions about bitcoin and how it works for which I responded to him accurately. It was an interesting and interactive session as I made him understand the whole system and how it works.

In other for the communication, learning and teaching process to scale through, I had to come up with a learning scheme for an easier understanding and they are as follows;

1. What is Bitcoin?
2. When and why Bitcoin was founded.
3. Founder of Bitcoin.
4. Importance and benefits of holding bitcoin.
5. How to trade bitcoin. ( listed some  notable exchange where he can trade bitcoin)
6. What is blockchain and how it works.

-snip-
It's a good thing you are spreading the word about bitcoin around and encouraging businesses and merchants to accept bitcoin. Good to see you helped someone to setup his wallet and allow his shop to accept cryptocurrencies, but I hope that you let him know about the risks involved in holding/accepting cryptocurrencies in a business. I also hope you didn't give him any false hope by saying that bitcoin will make him rich real quick and stuffs. His barbershop seems to be a simple shop, so he shouldn't be holding everything he receives in bitcoin. Better for him to hold half in crypto currencies and rest be converted to fiat currency.

Besides those "learning scheme" that you listed, teach them about safety and how to backup their wallets.

By making people aware of Bitcoin's existence and emphasizing its significance to the barber, you've done a tremendous job, Op. It's wonderful to see people use Bitcoin and accept it as a form of payment at so many different establishments. Op With this fantastic effort, I believe you will not stop there with only barbaring salloon man. The community will benefit if other members get the same chance as this barber man.

It will be more attractive if the barbering salloon man can enlarge the notification banner of acceptance of Bitcoin as other form of payment in the shop.

I like this one OP accepting Bitcoin is one of the ways to encourage people to an actually see Crypto-currency as usable and not just an investment property. You can also motivate others to start this process too.

But it's not just going to end by you accepting Bitcoin alone, I believe you know some of your patronizers you can start by telling them about Bitcoin. You can mostly based on what challenges they face right now in Crypto-currency.

You are right. I actually did after reaching out to him and teaching him, I also encouraged him to also reach out to other fellow colleagues of his too and also as many customers that asks him about it in his shop, he should teach them as I have done to him so they could understand. You know, their shops are mostly filled with youths most times which will definitely attract their attention to the new development in his shop leading them to asking him questions about it.
I was really amazed at the hard work you've made in promoting Bitcoin in your community. Apparently, it needs someone or a group of people to help spread and educate them about Bitcoin. Because I've noticed that many people heard about Bitcoin as a currency but never have an idea how to do it due to a lack of education. Even for me, if I'm running a business I shouldn't care about accepting Bitcoin because I don't know about it.
What I see is that people needs proper Bitcoin education first and adoption will then to follow faster.
Actually many people are aware of what Bitcoin is but were left with misinformation such as easy money, risky investment, fraud and such without even checking what it really is. For us in this industry, it is oroginally an alternative currency to be used on daily transactions but since its market price is volatile, people took advantage of it and saw its potential of becoming a profitable asset. Problem here is that, "non-crypto " people only sees it being profitable but not with the high risk involved from doing so. They are often having high expectations and when instability occurs, they are throwing scam acusations and such. Sharing its true nature might help to those aspiring crypto users in the future.

Hey there,

What you are doing is great, especially in such a localized environment. It really speaks to the power of how global the network is, while reaching even the tiniest corner's of our own societal eco-spheres. I highly recommend that with any sort of mass adoption effort, you preach the importance of privacy, self-custody, and password/private key hygiene.

And since you are doing it in a local environment, exposing it to people with little or no moderate technical background, try and keep everyone's experience as simple as possible. For example, if you want to show bitcoin to 40 different people in your town that come through your store, teach them all the same structured thing. This increases the chance they see each other outside of your scope of effect, and will still be able to communicate, troubleshoot, and p2p transact with comfort. ie. make them all use one wallet, simple not complicated...Electrum for example.

Good luck! Cheesy

I try my possible best to making sure they all understand what bitcoin is all about. If you check, my tutorial scheme was just easy and with just the basic and fundamental knowledge about bitcoin and how it operates which i think was necessary. I made sure I taught them all the necessary steps involved so they could have the idea on how to function alone in system without any issues emanating when I am not with them. The wallet in question was a simple on in which they could understand at their level because introducing them into anything bigger than their knowledge might likely get them confused so as a beginner, i got them used to the one their capacity can carry but as time goes on after they must have done much research as I have told them, they would get to know more about the hardware wallets and get used to them but for the now, its a beginner thing so I think starting with a flexible wallet at their level would be.

Never the less, I taught him how to set up a bitcoin wallet, the easiest to be precise so he could easily understand and do it himself, copy and send his wallet address to his customers for payment.
I hope the wallet you introduced to him is a simple but secured one. Electrum will be a safe one here as it's an open source and not complicated to use. The reason I said that is because you've to make sure his funds are intact for him, otherwise if he loses his funds his type will never believe anything Bitcoin ever again. In fact, he will spread FUD about Bitcoin to anyone who wants in.

As an aside, I want to see big shops and businesses start using Bitcoin in Nigeria so I don't have to convert to fiat when I want to buy electronics or do any other heavy spending.
This is one of the wrong things that had been introduced on which suggesting wallets which are custodial or simply you dont possess its keys which it do really removes out the true essence of decentralization.

Anything that is related to promotion or spreading up awareness and knowledge neither on a single person or a group of person or establishments then it is always been considered as a good thing.
We are all hoping that recognition and adoption of Bitcoin or overall cryptocurrency into our place is something that we do wish for but for some they arent really that caring or mindful
because they wont really be tending to use up their coins directly but rather accumulating it as much as they could because they do know its potential.

Something like this:

This is a nice idea and recommendation. I have taken cognizance of it and would implement it in the next phase of my campaign for Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality. I think it would be very catch and attractive as you have said because as more people or customers sees it, they would definitely want to know what it is all about and then their interest arouse making them be eager to hear and learn how the system works. There and then they would be taught how Bitcoin functions as a digital  currency. This recommendation of yours looks very ok.

Great course OP, I must recommend your efforts very well. You’ve truly done your own quota in contributing to bitcoin adoption globally. Starting from your community was the finest thing you could have done; grassroots development is always sturdy and difficult to break in the long run. Just make sure he understands the most critical stuff for now, such as the private and public keys you taught him first.

Telling the barber guy how to share the knowledge with others so that they can benefit from it was also a good idea. Knowledge is meant to be shared rather than kept to oneself. Since he stated that he is not current in the digital world, take the teaching carefully and steadily and avoid bombarding him with most things that may confuse him further. The little you’ve thought him now will go a long way for him, and make sure he finds time and learn more by himself.

The OP looks knowledgeable so don't worry because I am sure that he knows what's best for him and for the people that he was teaching. There are many wallets which are also open source and are easy to use other than electrum but electrum is still the most recommended one by the experts. Lately there was a reminder in our forum made by theymos and electrum is also the wallet that he recommend and the other one is bluewallet.

Never heard or use that one but I will try to when I have time. If ever someone loses their fund, they shouldn't blame bitcoin first and spread fud without knowing if it was their own fault or not but btc itself isn't a scam.

For accepting bitcoin as a means of payment, I promised to patronizing him and also introduce him to more customers ready and willing to pay with bitcoin for services rendered  within my locality. He was very happy for my kind gesture of me introducing him to new customers ready and willing to pay in bitcoin which means a plus to his business. Thank you for spreading the the news of the possibilities and opportunities that bitcoin offers. If you keep up this orientation and publicity exercise, in few months many businesses might adopt bitcoin as a form of payment. It would also be good to build a community of bitcoin users in your locality so that P2P transactions might become effective and efficient. This would help these users to limit the use of these unreliable centralized exchange companies. I want to encourage you to continue this good work because this selfless service is a worthy one because you are introducing people to better alternative payment channel, freedom and privacy.

It's a good idea to accept Bitcoin at your barba shop, people will start having Interest and start holding , I love the way people are carrying it as a responsibility upon themselves to make awesomeness about Bitcoin is a way forward, and the most interesting part is accepting Bitcoin in your Barber shop is a good idea for people that have no knowledge about Bitcoin, people have heard but don't know how Bitcoin works, this  will be an eye opener for people that have no knowledge about Bitcoin people have heard but don't know, definitely people will start asking questions.

This is true, since people will maybe not pay in bitcoin but they will see that more and more possibilities exist, so they will become more interested. For me it was the same thing, I fist read about bitcoin at a local shop and then informed myself.

The thing is...

You can introduce someone to Bitcoin and you can even inspire them to accept it as a payment option in their shop or business, but if there are not people using it as a currency.... those businesses will stop accepting it as a payment option.

Not really since they can just leave it as that and no one knows when a customer that is willing to pay in Bitcoin come knocking.  I believe they will not stop accepting but rather keep it there as an option since local stores doesn't need to pay to maintain their stance of accepting Bitcoin.  It is different in an online payment gateway though.

Bitcoin's volatility encourage people to rather use Bitcoin as a Commodity or an investment ...so people are hesitant to use it as a "Currency" ...because they anticipate huge profits on the horizon.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I am not hesitant to use it as currency.  After all Bitcoin is the only payment system for me to be able to transact online.  Grin.  If there is no additional option to use beside Bitcoin, then people will use it no matter how valuable they think it is.

What the OP did, every person should do for bitcoin to be adopted by people and help spread it, but in countries where cryptocurrencies are banned, this will expose you to legal accountability if someone reports you to the police, You have to be content with teaching people online without showing your identity and without anyone recognizing you in your area, so it will be safer for you, but in countries where bitcoins are allowed, this would be a great initiative if everyone took the initiative to do it and offer it to his friends or sellers in stores to deal with bitcoin and not in Fiat money.

We the btc community owe it to ourselves to promote btc adoption and acceptance. we shouldn't hesitate to spread the word of btc within our community and outside our community, this is our little contribution to the great technology satoshi created.
Despite how popular btc has become in recent times, millions of people worldwide are still very ignorant to this great tech, it is very necessary to take the time to educate anyone who is willing to learn and understand it. you did a great job reaching out to your barber with btc knowledge, I can tell he is thrilled with the piece of information.

A good move mate because I truly believe this is a great steps to your locality just as I have been on ride and I do discussed with the drivers about bitcoin and at last we both exchange whatsapp numbers and I do teaches them how it works. I have been successfully introduce to about 4 to 5 drivers who are using Bolt app to drive around my locality, with this movement I believe we all could foster the max adoption of bitcoin within our localities.
Keep the good going!

It's a very good Move! Kuddos to you for doing your part of spreading bitcoin knowledge. I agree to Mk4 suggestion to add something more attractive about bitcoin acceptance. It will catch more eyeballs which will make some people intrigued about what is bitcoin. People may miss simple black text. So adding something attractive may help!

Also, in a couple of month, it will be great if you can open a thread to let us know how many people actually paid via bitcoin. I am interested in knowing this number. because while many merchant establishments are interested in accepting bitcoin, there's no substantial data available to understand how many people actually transacts through it. So I will appreciate if you can let us know about it when the time is right.

Nice one, OP! As hugeblack wrote, though, motivation is what really ensures that the people you're targeting (in this case, his potential or existing customers) are converted to try using BTC at least once.

How do you convince them? When they understand why you do it -- some reasons or motivations given (opportunity to send money to places inaccessible by traditional payments, inflation hedge etc.).

But even more powerful for me is to demonstrate the positive change (before and after).

Example (from perspective of the shop owner): before, I couldn't accept Mister A as customer because he could not leave his farm. Now, I send him a payment request for BTC and I now have a new customer.

Incredible, mate! To be honest, you're doing an admirable job. It is not an easy task to reach out to people and explain Bitcoin to them. Because it's difficult to explain Bitcoin or cryptocurrency to someone who is completely unfamiliar with them. However, I assume cryptocurrency is legal in your country and that helping to promote Bitcoin will not cause you any problems. If there is an opportunity, that is how we can all adapt Bitcoin. Unfortunately, Bitcoin is not legal in my country, so I cannot do the same. I just tried to explain Bitcoin to my very close friend.

Good innovation OP, you have done well to spread Bitcoin awareness and letting the barber know the importance of Bitcoin in business. Nigeria are doing great in bitcoin usage even though their government hasn't adopted it yet. Please also teach him not your keys not your wallet in other for him to be safe from scammers and centralized system

I have always think of how people can choose bitcoin first instead of fiat currency but they find it difficult to understand because they are in a fiat world,so I thought that to remove this acarde thought from their minds is for more bitcoiners to campaign for Bitcoin which OP is doing.

I am sure there are many of us here that are very passionate about BTC, and have convinced merchants in their locality to accept BTC payment, but wouldn't post it here either because they see no need to, privacy or something else. BTC loyalists do this often so it may no longer be a thing, but anyway bravo for posting this.

How popular is BTC in your locality, and will the barber get >2 customers that will want to pay him with BTC in a month, the living condition in your locality is another thing, do the people living in your locality have a moderately good life to care about paying their local barber with BTC, good luck with this, but it is still very hard for merchants to accept BTC in many localities and for many reasons.

Is that in Nigeria? I say this because of the large Nigerian community on the forum. In any case, it looks like an African country and we have seen several such initiatives in other posts to spread awareness and use of Bitcoin. I too doubt, like hugeblack, that this will turn into a significant volume of transactions in the barber shop, but you never know, as I have read that there is quite a bit of cryptocurrency usage in Nigeria.

Nigerians Turn to Crypto Assets as Currency Weakens

Cryptocurrency usage soars in Nigeria despite bank ban

It would be curious if they end up using Bitcoin more there than in El Salvador.

Good move in your end, just wondering though,

1. What kind of bitcoin wallet the barber are going to used? might be better as well to introduce him to LN (Lightning Network)
2. And probably it's important to let him understand the difference between custodial and non-custodial wallet. I'm sure you are aware of what is going on right now.

Best of luck to the barber and hopefully he can get clients to try and used bitcoin when paying for his services.

Thank you for contributing to the spread of Bitcoin, but without a real motive and questions from users, you rarely find someone who continues to accept and buy Bitcoin, I do this because:

It gave me an opportunity to send money to hard-to-reach areas using traditional methods.
It has value in itself and increases in the future.
A way to hedge against inflation.

and other motives.

In other for the communication, learning and teaching process to scale through, I had to come up with a learning scheme for an easier understanding and they are as follows;

As a first timer, I explained and showed him what a public and private key looks like, showing him a transaction harsh too was another thing I did for him to get a clearer picture of how it works.

Never the less, I taught him how to set up a bitcoin wallet, the easiest to be precise so he could easily understand and do it himself, copy and send his wallet address to his customers for payment. As earlier mentioned above, I also told and showed him the difference between private keys, public keys  and transaction harsh so he could get acquainted to them all.

For accepting bitcoin as a means of payment, I promised to patronizing him and also introduce him to more customers ready and willing to pay with bitcoin for services rendered  within my locality.
