Yesterday I received a transaction and sent another, did not have high fees, however these transactions were confirmed very quickly, in two minutes. It´ s interesting how a transaction can take a day and another, with the same fees, can take two minutes. Given that this occurred in the same week the question is, what changed from one day to another? Was it a matter of luck that one day the network were saturated and two days later it were fast?
I think it is safe to assume for now that it is just a matter of luck because I am saw a couple of stuck transaction just like here in the past few days and of course until now .

Never had a transaction which got confirmed wthin 2 minutes, I fastest I got  within that time frame is at least one confirmation with a normal payrate on mycelium .  Maybe we got a good miner out there  Grin

I wonder what is happening in bitcoin network. 8 hour's to transfer coin from blockchain   into localbitcoin wallet.

Currently, this is happening who knows what is going to happen within the next 3-5 year's. Shocked Shocked

Thanks

Someone who I was talking to about this very subject has been having this same question asked to himself for the past 2 years.
But it has never been answered.
And I believe it never will be.
Until a new way is developed to speed up the transfers on all transactions being sent.
Or to eliminate the root cause of all these spam attacks on the blockchain without having to incur higher fees to all who use it.
That in it's self will never resolve this common issue to do with a very good system to begin with.

If 8 hours is too slow.

There are wire transfers which can take 24-48 hours.

Paypal enjoys banning accounts that have more than $200 in them & robbing people.

 Wink

8 hours is not really a lot I remember sending a transaction that took almost 36 hours to confirm, I will not lie I was worried but I knew it will eventually get through and get confirmed, fortunately for me it was not a transaction that needed fast confirmation.

Time ago, more than a year if I remember correctly, when the bitcoin network didn´t suffer these delays and there weren´t so many problems like now, I sent a transaction from Coinbase that was like two or three days without confirming until finally it was rejected and the funds returned to the Coinbase account back. Luckily I had already contacted Coinbase support on time and they were tracking the transaction so they credited my account with no problems.

Thanks but, i'm used to blockchain.info

ViaBTC is just a miner, having some real hashpower mining blocks. this miner offers a free feature to users who have their transactions stuck. if your transaction has a low fee, you just go here: https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ and copy paste the tranasctions hash (yours was 76e8ba....) and fill the captcha and click submit. then this miner (viabtc) will include your transaction in the next block they mine.

so in other words it doesn't matter what wallet you used.

It should be noted that to send the transaction to Viabtc, the transaction must include a minimum of 0.0001BTC / KB fee to be accepted, then there needs to be space so that it can be included in the next block mined by them. And in case of being accepted, wait.

I've experienced similar before, it's frustrating AF. You just need to be patient though & it should confirm.
Also don't send a low fee again, that's usually the main reason for severely delayed confirmations.

0.0018 BTC fee. That is what I use nowadays and since I am doing so my transactions were always proceeded under minutes. For me, this fee is not an issue, but compared to the old fee, it is really "higher than usual". So, you could try to optimize your number of transactions and use this or larger fee!

8 hours!?
Not bad, if you ask me.
Before I never had problem with bitcoin transactions.
Each time i received funds in a few hours.
Recently, I had to wait more than 24 hours in order to receive my funds.
So, I learned my lesson and next time increased fee, and received funds again very fast, in a few hours.
So, if you are in hurry, just offer more money for fees and problem solved Smiley

120 sat/byte will also allow you to use viabtc's txaccelerator (link to the tool can be found by following the link i posted at the top of this post)
4. use viabtc acceleration tool Wink

if you listened then your transaction would have been confirmed within 20 minutes upto 1 hour in worst case scenario!

I too have experienced the same. To be true you might have used the low transaction fee which is the reason for the delayed confirmation. Or else your transaction might have got under the spam attack network which takes time to function as other networks.

At the present time, the number of large transactions, small transactions with small fees will be long confirmed. Need to change the code of the BTC or I do not know.

I understand and share your sentiments but you have to be patient and keep faith with Bitcoin, I'll say it's part of the struggle for independence and so there will be light at the end of the tunnel for sure. It's difficult at the moment but there's hope and improvements will ensue eventually.

I assume you are using a blockchain.info wallet?

Blockchain.info has a reputation for doing a very poor job of calculating the appropriate fee for fast confirmation.  I suggest you stop using blockchain.info and find a better wallet.  Consider using one of the Mobile, Desktop, Hardware, or Web wallets at the following link:

This is at the cor of the problem which the Bitcoin community is debating right as to the right and acceptable solution to satisfy the majority of stakeholders. Of course, this is leading to increase in fees as we have to shoulder the cost of the transfer...the bigger your fees the more you are prioritize by the miners...as it looks like an auction style. Anyway, am hoping and confident that soon the problem can be given its correct solutions. Good thing that the value of Bitcoin is now ignoring this problem.

Would you care sharing the information on what wallet service you used, so that we can collectively try to address this? Some of these wallet services do not have the option to "configure" your own fee, so you have to contact the wallet provider to inform them of this situation.

people (wrongfully) call blockchain.info wallet as blockchain, or blockchain wallet. and OP said "transfer coin from Blockchain..."
and they DO have an option to manually configure fees. it is the same place right after you make the transaction and are about to send it in a button saying "more" option or something like that.

did you used the correct fee? the fee is now very high maybe you used a low one and hopefully in the next years they will fix this will segwit or another solution for handle better capacity

as expected you used half of the fee, it's the reason of the delay, people always open topic and complaing about the speed of transaction, but we always discovered that they used incorrect fee

These delays in transactions are a clear message that says that it´s necessary to solve the problem of scalability as soon as possible. One of the great advantages of Bitcoin has always been the speed of transactions, it´s important to maintain this and avoid the frustration of users.

Here's a full analysis, as well as possible sollutions:

Bottom line: the wallet you used added a fee of ~120 satosi's/byte, while at the time of writing, my wallet would recommand a fee of at least 180 satoshi's/byte if you want a 95% chance of getting a confirmation within 30 minutes. https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ even recommends 220 sat/byte. So, in hindsight, your wallet *should* have added twice the fee it used, but since it your wallet didn't use opt-in RBF to create the transaction, it's to late to change it now.

The good news is that 120 sat/byte is not so low that it's a hopeless situation... https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ estimates the average waiting time for this fee to be <~1440 minutes at the time of writing.
120 sat/byte will also allow you to use viabtc's txaccelerator (link to the tool can be found by following the link i posted at the top of this post)

It is to do with the age of your input - it was less than a day old.

Bitcoin prioritises according to age. 1btc should be able to be sent 1 day later, at the lowest fee. 0.1btc should be able to be sent 10 days later with the lowest fee. and so on.

If you are sending very young inputs, you need to raise your fee in order to get priority.

Tl:dr always spend your oldest coins and let the newer inputs age.

This was true in the past, but nowadays, only very few miners still reserve space in their blocks for high priority transactions.

This is more like "not educating yourself => punishment".
1. your fee is low. check out https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ or use a proper wallet that does proper fee suggestions. i suggest bitcoin core or electrum. i have checked them both and they give very good fee suggestions.

2. from 2017-04-28 09:48:25 (when you broadcast your tx) to 2017-04-28 12:30  (now)  is not 8 hours or 82 hours as in your second comment. although this is debatable. Smiley

3. learn about RBF and how to use it. again electrum offers pretty easy usage of it in case of this when your fee is not high enough.

4. use viabtc acceleration tool Wink

5. also a good idea to take a look at this topic when you had more time: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/all-about-stuck-transactions-and-what-you-can-do-to-fix-them-1802212

The Blockchain wallet sets fees of 120 satoshi/byte by default.  Their "fee estimation" is just finding out what the transaction size will be and setting the fees to 120 satoshi per byte.

With the network having been very congested you're unlikely to get a transaction confirmed for a long time using Blockchain's terrible fee and timing estimation.  They have no idea how long your transaction will take to confirm, either.

Your best bet is to check the fees on bitcoinfees.21.co and try and set your fees relative to the 120 satoshi per byte set by the Blockchain wallet.
