Always make new addresses for each time you want bitcoins sent to your wallet to help stay even more anonymous.

As long as you don't associate any personal info with your address than you are pretty much anonymous. However, the minute you want to convert BTC to fiat currency, depending on the service you're using, you're very likely to be asked to give out your identity. This links your ID to your address and unmasks you.

It is anonymous since nobody will think that a newbie can accumulate a huge amount of bitcoins.

It's anonymous in the sense that nobody has any way to associate the addresses it generates with you personally. As you accumulate transactions at those addresses, an opportunity for somebody to make that link may eventually develop, bit it would have to be based on other known connections to you. As long as you don't, for example, sign up on Mt. Gox, buy a bunch of Bitcoins, and send them all at once to one of your local addresses, it'd be pretty tough for anyone to connect it with you.

So, I just downloaded/installed Bitcoin-QT Wallet from Bitcoin.org.  I have set up my passphrase, encrypted my wallet, and backed up the wallet on an external hard drive.  I assume that I backed up the wallet so that is saves my encrypted passphrase information...

Is the Bitcoin-QT Wallet now completely anonymous, since it is on my computer and not hosted on an online server?

Thank you for your answers in advance...
