I have a similar issue except I have the icon showing on the far right of the task bar and if I try click it and maximize nothing happens. Using 0.9.3 is crashed many times the last time it was at 6 weeks behind, the hd light dies show activity so I'm assuming it's verging but it takes ages well over 20 mins and sometimes it would just freeze.

Is it really because the block chain is so big? Running on a cow 2 duo 3.2ghz 3gig  notebook.win 7. I was told the 0.9.3 client is problematic also.

1. Press on the icon

2. Press on two keys at the same time: "space" + "alt"
3. Press "maximize" in the context menu

Thanks it worked!

30GB+ now lol

It's becoming insane. Imagine, since bitcoin is taking off and the number of transactions increasing, how HUGE this is going to become in the future...

If you are a normal user trying to use Bitcoin to send payments, just use SPV clients, they are light. If you really want to support the network, find a old computer that is online for 24 hours a day and run a full node there.

Almost touching 32GB today but that's not a lot really when the average hdd is 500 or 1tb thesedays and more storage is cheap to acquire...

Try fsb4000's suggestion, if it does not help try using a different version. 0.9.3. seems to cause problems on Windows Systems. 0.9.2.1 should work or give 0.10.0.rc[1] a try.

If you want to keep the version you currently have for some reason see if the log files[2] contain any info that might help narrow down on the error.

this looks like spam...PND has moved no where.

Also given the number of coins you seem to have, you probably have a keylogger and malicious software on your computer anyway.

Cant open the client in full screen!

Does it ever come good? How long have you waited? Is your hard drive light showing activity? This happens to me every time I boot my system and I am confident its normal procedure of validating the blockchain. Keep in mind the blockchain is 20+gb....

Now it finally works for some reason!
Where do I find this wallet.dat that was mentioned before? Thanks for the help!
Have you reinstalled it and made a backup before that? If you want to know where it is, it is at the %appdata% of your computer. You should be able to see a folder called bitcoin and you can open it and see the wallet.dat. you can copy it elsewhere for backup.

Rather than finding your wallet.dat just click File > Backup wallet. Save it on USB's, other drives, cold PC's etc. What you can also do is an export dump of your privkeys and store those in a zip lock bag in a safe.

You don't need to reinstall.

Bitcoin QT is verifying your blockchain. Let it run, give it about 5 minutes before you try pull it up. IT IS working, check your HDD activity light.

From what I gather, he has Bitcoin QT to start when window starts. When Windows loads, and he tries to pull Bitcoin QT up, it won't come up as it is verifying the blocks. A way to confirm this is to ctrl alt delete and kill bitcoinqt and then restart it and you will see a splash screen saying verifying blocks... it will last a few minutes.

When scrolling the mouse over the icon I can see that theres no green loading bar in the small window that showes.
Still not possible to maximize. When restarting I get the smaller loading window as usual.

If you have a solid state, install your blockchain on that and it will load much faster.

Or perhaps its possible to create a new one through https://blockchain.info/sv/wallet/new ?
Just not 100% that my own code is the same as wallet.dat, or in this case on blockhain "E"...

save the wallet.dat file in at least 3 places  before you delete  anything

then re-install a fresh wallet and import the wallet.dat file into it

Will the bitcoin still be in the wallet after reinstallation or do I have to use the "code" to get them back somehow?
