Thanks for the replies. Is it possible to use two copies of bitcoin-qt at the same time on the same computer?  Considering the bitcoin folder used in the appdata folder in windows?  I do have two computers so that's not an issue just trying to contain things in one place.

Also is it possible to send the coins from wallet A to wallet b and at some point (not sure when that would be) turn off wallet A switch to wallet B and fire back up bitcoin-qt?  Not sure if that transaction could be caught properly especially if the chain is synced already and shared among wallets.

Thanks.

Stop using branwallets
To send coins from wallet A to wallet B just send them from wallet A to an address in wallet B.  You may find it easier to use different clients for the wallets.

You can use different wallet.dat files or just use different addresses.
Transfer from one wallet to another is possible. The receiving wallet does not need to be online when you transfer the coins.

I am sharing pool mining with a friend with equal cards. We are splitting what we mine in half. I also have a couple extra cards of my own. I want to have one wallet for our shared stuff and one coming from my private mining stuff. In bitcoin-qt how do I setup a wallet for the group one and a wallet for just me on the same computer? Do I just copy in and move out wallet.dat files when I want to use one or the other?

Also what if I want to move money from one wallet to the other how would I do that? Both wallets are on the same computer?

Thanks.
