That's what it's doing.

It goes "not responding" until the blockchain is loaded, which can take 10 minutes or longer. Just wait.

What Services does Bitcoin-qt need to run correctly what system files did I mess up my bitcoin-qt really bad all it says is not responding in my task manager no matter what I do... I am going to leave my computer on to see if something happens but it doesn't look good I can't even see the interface it won't load up... however the Debug Log is updating and it just seems to be verifying the blockchain.

About uninstalling bitcoin: note that bitcoin has only 2 folders: the one where you have bitcoin-qt.exe (with the daemon and src subfolder) and the one inside appdata/roaming where it store the blockchain and wallet.dat

So to "uninstall" it you just have to delete these 2 folders and that's all  Wink

Always backup wallet.dat

Tried it and no luck.

Made a backup of Wallet
Uninstalled Bitcoin-qt
Deleted folder in roaming path

Reinstalled Bitcoin
Copied wallet.dat in place.

Can see the Bitocoins in an unconfirmed state and it is not syncing.
Not syncing at all?  Still on block 0?  Or just not syncing very fast?  Depending on your computer, it can take a few days of continuous syncing to sync the entire blockchain.

Revo Uninstaller is shit, don't use it!

Backup wallet.dat to safe place. Uninstall Bitcoin. Delete Bitcoin directory from Users//AppData/Roaming/Bitcoin and install Bitcoin again. Copy the wallet.dat back in place.

This worked...thanks!

reinstall the program, try to uninstall it with

Bitcoiners should be very careful be allowing software to be installed from anywhere, including something like this.

The error is likely due to an improper shutdown (either app crash, or windows crash, or power interruption) in which the automatic recovery of the database wasn't successful.

Firstly, make sure you have a backup of your wallet.dat (but don't overwrite a previous backup).

The debug.log will help show which database the program is having trouble with.

Hey Guys,

I have the latest version of Bitcoin running on my laptop just fine, but on my desktop I get a "bitcoin-qt.exe has stopped working" error consistently. Both are running Windows 7 64 bit.  On the splash screen it says "Verifying database integrity" and then it stops.  I have run a full system virus scan, thinking there was something trying to inject itself to Bitcoin, but there was nothing detected.   I have done some searches about it, but haven't found any answers to resolve it.

Anyone have a clue what might be causing this?
