Well done.
Just upgraded to latest version and the BTC is now there. Thanks for your help guys
I don't know what you did to upgrade your Electrum wallet, but I simply want to leave you a warning that next time when you upgrade your Electrum wallet, please remember to download new version from correct site.
There are so many phising sites that try to steal money from Electrum wallet.
There is one topic on this issue:
⚠⚠️⚠~Beware on active phishing Electrum websites~⚠⚠️⚠ (Collection list updated)
Please always careful with phising sites.

What version of Electrum are you using?

Versions older than 3.3 don’t synchronize anymore, so you’ll have to upgrade if that’s the case.

1. What is BTC markets? An exchange?
2. Are you using the latest version of Electrum?
3. Official Electrum?
4. Are you sure the address you have sent BTC is the correct address? There's a copy/paste malware which replace your copied address with his address.
5. Please add the address where you sent BTC.

eXch.cx - Automatic crypto Swap Exchange.
You have to provide us with some more information to be able to help. Sometimes due to malwares, your copied address can be changed to another as of pasting it. Also downloading the wrong wallet can also be a cause if any of these is the case then there's nothing you can do.

Although to be sure please answer the following questions;
  • What is the address to the electrum wallet you're expecting you bitcoin to be sent to?
  • what's the transaction ID of the said withdrawal transaction to the address

From the provided information we can verify if the fund is in the wallet or have been transferred out. If none of this is positive then you'll have to contact support of exchange.

I transacted a small amount to make sure I am doing the right thing before I put too much money in and lose the lot. And it looks like I have done the wrong thing.
I used BTC Markets to deposit my dollars into. Deposit received.
I converted the dollars to bitcoin. Transaction approved.
I sent the bitcoin to my Electrum wallet. Blockchain and BTC Markets confirmed bitcoin sent. However, nothing arrived to my wallet.
I had used VirWox in December, to do the same, and it worked.
I copy and pasted the receive address correctly.
Is there any way to find out where the bitcoin actually went? and if I can get it back.
BTC Markets said I have to try through Electrum.
