So now it induces nerds to stock op on GPU hardware? I get it! BitCoin is not currency at all, is just a new game genre: MMOM (pronounced like "mom"), Massively Multiplayer Online Money. The hottest MMOM in town. Spread the word.

That's funny!
Yep, it's basically a massively multiplayer online trading game Smiley Like EVE online but without the spaceships and with even more spreadsheets.

To be honest i don't get these type of sites such as slashdot and reddit, I understand they're good for getting the word out but they manage to have no UI friendly appeal for me personally whatsoever, every time on rare occasion I stumble on one of these site I catch myself thinking how can anyone use and like these sites. I realize it's a matter of personal preferences but still it amazes me every time.

You will understand, that if you want news first and fastest, it is on Twitter.

Before that, it was every single other social bookmarking site. I really believe delicious and stumbleupon were some of the bigger ones, but digg obviously made it a staple to have a big button on every page, and a while ago reddit took their place, but rather than flip like digg did (which was change that UI to something 'friendly'), they held their guns, and that is why they are still awesome.

And remember folks, never fear, if all this shit goes down, there is still Fark, keeping it real Smiley

These are information only sites (sans Twitter), I mean, if you want to comment, have at it, but the majority of the users on most of these formats just are here to get the scoop and go.

I love slashdot. I love how they'll fight over a misplaced semi-colon, how they rage at the tiniest perceived flaw. I also enjoy how they absolutely suck at predicting the future -- of anything. One of their last massive goofs was when the first iPod was going to be released, every single one of them thought it would be a failure, oh my god it has a physical hard drive - no way! There are solid state devices that can play music, blah blah blah...

They were, utterly, horribly, ludicrously wrong.

Guess what they're wrong about now?

There is always the possibility that on slow market days like this, it is only because the higher power controllers wanted a day off.    Great, now this thought is going to fuck with my mind like my Mom telling me that when it rains it is because God is crying.  Yup, just like it.

It's funny and it's so damn true.   While Bitcoin is a real thing that some people are able to live off of, I have no doubts the originals who were mining all that Bitcoin that is worth so much to them now in so short of time, well how is this all not a game to them?

I think this is part of the problem. Those who hold serious coin probably enjoy the power wielded by their holdings in manipulating the market. Its not often someone has to power to do something with such direct and visible effects. If I had 10,000+ coins, the first thing I'd do before cashing out is to drop coins to watch the market bend to my actions like I was in the Matrix or something.

Bitcoin site have outgrown slashdot. It can never be slashdotted again.
I would like to publicly apologize to any slashdotters reading this, kiba knows not your power.

I really think rather than focus on what great places Bitcoin has appeared, we should all look to where it can go.  Let's break out with the map (click to enlarge)

I think Bitcoin has been brewing in the Sea of Opinions enough, I think some people should gather to do a push on deviant art in some way, but honestly, it's time to just move to new lands.
