You can export all the private keys from the offline computer, and import them in another wallet. Then you have access to your bitcoins again.

Maybe you should update your software, I think that's your fix. You are using an old beta software, of course it will be slow. Many optimization and improvement changes have been made to armory and bitcoin core. The latest versions are 0.93.3 for armory and 0.11.2 for bitcoin core.
The master private key cannot be imported into another wallet since it uses a different format. You can export the other private keys that have your bitcoin and import those to another wallet though.

Have printout of root key
Didn't use armory for a year or so and now it is impossible to get started.
This has been the most unstable software and incredibly slow. If bitcoin core is bad then this is just awful. Anyway have bitcoin core up and running fine now but after many many attempts at getting armory running, no go. Usually syncs the data for up to 3 or 4 days during which time my computer is almost unusable it is so slow, then at the end of the sync the program crashes and time to start all over. I think that upgrading to a newer watching wallet will no longer be compatible with my signing wallet as I understand the new version of the signing wallet supports multi signature and will not work.
SO WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW IS..... can I just completely abandon Armory and use the root key to ?sweep? ?import? the funds into my bitcoin core wallet? Or some other wallet type to use the Armory root key to recover my bitcoin without needing to get Armory to run? This would be a temporary step as I have now purchased a hardware Ledger wallet which seems like it is going to be so much easier to work with while giving similar security that Armory has. It is not possible to import root keys into the Ledger hardware wallet.
Thanks for any assistance, love bitcoin, and once the security AND ease of use gets figured out it is going to be an explosion!
