Start mining in a pool.  In no time flat you'll have your bit penny.  There isn't much you can learn by somebody just handing you a bitcent.

But if you want one to play with.. sure, post an address.. I'll pony up.
thank you so much. I hate to beg but I'll return it as soon a I can once i'm all setup with GUIminer. my address is: 1FtBbeJ2tJGN8UtSER3dcduWudho7q4tGj

Sent you a bitnick, don't worry about repayment, I won some on Bitcoin-Kamikaze Smiley

Thanks for getting me started man! I've spent .04 of my bitcoins on a bitcoin blackjack site (http://btcjack.1btchost.com/) and have stopped at .2 bitcoins. Thanks for helping me when the faucets were down Smiley.

5 centibits?

Wouldn't mBTC denote .001?

I believe you are correct. A bitnick would be 5cBits or 50 mbits

I'm so very glad that bitcoin didn't start off using "credits" or "creds". That would have been very lame.

lol I love the name, but what's a bitnick?

It's a Bitcoin that wears beat up jeans and a t-shirt and hangs out on the corner. It tends to smell a bit funny too  Grin

lol I love the name, but what's a bitnick? 1mBTC?
It equals .05 bitcoins hence bit nick[el].

oic, thanks for that. Although didn't someone say something somewhere about trying to keep names unique to bitcoin? to keep it international etc.

I know It's not really my place to be complaining but as you know the bitcoin faucet (http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/) has been down for quite a while due to them not having any coins because potentially somebody is abusing the system. Anyway I have tried to use the new bitcoin street faucet, (http://faucet.bitcoin.st/) but I have had many problems Sad. At first it was a firewall problem (port 8333 being closed) now it's this! every time i put in a valid address and cellphone number it says:
   ***ERROR***
        ERROR
All I want to do is try out this exciting new currency then donate it back to the faucet when I'm done. Could anyone help me with this or give me a reason for it giving me an error, or possibly loan me 0.01 bitcoins?
I don't mean to seem entitled at all, I'm just curious to try put this new system and if I like invest in some bitcoins. So, please let me know if they're any other bitcoin faucets out there that I could try. Any help much appreciated Smiley.
