Stefan, after watching you on the bitcoin show with Bruce I hope I speak for everyone when I say: forget about silly videos, keep working on bitcoinjs and make it simple and foolproof... that will be worth more to the bitcoin community than all the bloody videos in the world.

Then, once it's done, feel free to work on those videos if you want to  Grin

lol, my reasoning exactly. Cheesy

well...?

Well, after the talk was when the main surge in media interest for Bitcoin happened, so I was pretty busy answering emails and attending some other events. I also lost 7000 coins at that time. And that caused me to focus on BitcoinJS. Long story short - the video (36 GBs worth of HDV) is still sitting on my computer waiting to be cut.

FWIW here are the slides: http://www.slideshare.net/weusecoins/what-is-bitcoin-may-2011

To be honest, this talk wasn't my favorite. It was my first talk about Bitcoin and I think I got better over time. Also it's pretty basic/introductory. So my suggestion would be to wait for the video of my August ISSS/Webtuesday talk to come out. I had a really good time during that one. Plus, they did a recording and promised to upload it, so I don't have to do anything.  Smiley

Is it possible to record the presentation? Or maybe write up a digest of what was said? I would be very interested to hear.

Yep, I'll try and record the talk & maybe the questions section. The discussion won't be recorded, sorry. It would just put too much pressure on everybody to have every off-hand comment preserved for eternity. Wink

Happy to announce another Bitcoin-related event in Zurich this month, organized by the fine folks over at Netzzunft.

When? May 25th, 2010 at 19:00
Where? KPMG, Badenerstrasse 172, 8004 Zürich, Switzerland

I've been invited to give an introductory talk about Bitcoin, but I'm especially excited about the open discussion that is scheduled to take place afterwards. We'll look at the political, economic and privacy implications of a decentralized cryptocurrency and I'm looking forward to many interesting questions being raised. Smiley

My talk will be in English, but the discussion afterwards will likely be in German - depending on the preferences of the other attendees.

If you're interested, you can check out the event page (in German) and register if you're planning to attend.

Thanks to Hannes Gassert and Luzius Meisser for the invitation and Urs Bucher for providing the venue!
