I think you are tlaking about some goto moon in one day and massive dump next day altcoins. We can't compare them with bitcoin, there is lots of chance of loss in alts which is not in the case of bitcoin trading. So the profit is also not big.

Nope Up to $600 to $700 before or after the halving, or it might go down to $300 to $200, depending on future investors, well no one really knows what will happen in the future.

Exactly, price would be around $600 I guess after the halving but very interesting to see what would be the price after halving as no one is so sure where it would land after the halving.

$600 is not the expected "big" rise from halving, $600 is a normal rise in my opinion so it is not going to down from that price.
it is $1000 and more that is considered the big rally and the price goes down after that.

You are right, the 600 dollar is nothing compared what can happen with the price when the halving has been done.
If you think about the fact the price can already rise to a amount of 500 dollar next month so 600 dollar is nothing for the halving, the halving will let price go to amount near the 1000 dollar.

i want to be realistic but the unpredictable nature of bitocin make me unrealistic, you never know what it will happen

after the 1200 peak i'm prepared for anything as a high pump speaking, i'm more inclined to think that sub 100 is more unrealistic than anything above 1k

I am sure that we can reach +$1000 prices again at some point in the future. The price needs to build up slowly so it won't get dumped down so easily. If we see the price increase with $200 per year, which is a fantastic increase, then it will take us around 3 years to see $1000 again. I think we can achieve this.

$1300 was in 2013, due to China, MtGox, Willy all contributed to the anomalous price, we will never see it again. At least, Not Any TIme Soon.

What concerns me at the moment is the sideways movement that started yesterday after a drop from 451 to 409, that's an almost 10% decline. All I know is that we're going to see another drop to 380-400 over the coming weekend. God save us all.

We have seen the price fall deeper in just 24 hours. Don't think many people are surprised by these 10% ups and downs anymore nowadays. Overall, everything is still moving in the right direction for Bitcoin. Eventually we will definitely see a new ATH but it may take some years.

What signs are there right now for bitcoin going to 1k? We haven't gotten even halfway there despite recent attempts at a rally, and this isn't like the first time around where all the brand new media attention gets newbies investing in it. I'd like to see it as much as the next person, but we're nowhere even close to being ready to go up unless there's just some sort of spontaneous bubble from China, in which case there wouldn't really be any signs...

I have been hearing about Bitcoin reaching to 1000$ since I first entered this forum about 9 months ago. I believed it for a while, but know I rather expect it to be over 470$ or so to sell. I agree that 1000$ is possible in the long run, but not likely in months.

450$ is lot of money and this is pretty good rise if you look at bitcoinwisdom for a whole year.

I think the $1000 is just the year end target. The price could reach $800 during the halving time (June).
