nothing you can do for now, just wait until that transaction confirmed, this is often to happen to some transaction,i ever feel the same,my transaction not confirmed until three days. and this is the weakness of bitcoin transaction,i hope someday this problem will solved and never happen again.

Alright well I will try to just relax and check it less frequently. The good news is it is not a lot of coin. And yeah now I will pay more attention to the fees, I was before under the impression that the fee my wallet defaulted to was adequate since every other transact had been so fast.

I am still fairly new with bitcoin but every other transaction I have done had at least 1 confirmation within 45 minutes. It has been about 14+ hours now and nothing. I feel as if there is a glitch and I am not sure how to fix it. Can I get the bitcoin back or do I just have to wait days?

I have been googling the problem and I see people ask for transaction IDs so here it is:

If u give ridiculous fee like 0.00005 BTC to a 487 byte Tx, then this might happen often. You may resend the Tx with higher fee, say 0.0005 BTC and it'd be confirmed very fast.

Don't panic. There is nothing you can do about this situation. You just have to know that your bitcoin won't get lost, if this situation persist for a longer period your bitcoin will be returned to you.
You don't want to be stingy and it is good habit to always use standard fee when sending bitcoin. Lower fee is not worth waiting for confirmation later.

i do have unconfirmed transactions from my blockchain wallet over than 7 hours today but i don't worry about that because it would be resolved soon and we can't do anything for these issue and all we have to do is only just wait

I have been researching the recommended fees and I guess what I used is half of that. I will be sure to use the standard fee next time, it just sucks that I might have to wait days now.

Do you think at this point it is more likely to eventually confirm, or the transaction be cancelled so I can resend it?

All you can do is wait but you don't need to worry as this is a common mistake people make especially after they here bitcoin is free to send etc. I'm sure you'll remember to include a sufficient fee next time  Grin.

it is likely to get confirmed because of the high priority and a bit of fee.

Will just do the waiting game then. Am only worried because I've done a transaction with a low priority and it still went through within the hour. Am also frustrated because I made 2 transactions last night and the first was very quick (about 30min), they should have been the same transactio but I messed up and did not send enough. Now I am stuck with this smaller transfer in limbo. Anyway thank you for the reply, your optimism is helping with my slight paranoia.

You need to wait for a longer time until the input size od your transaction will be enough for those miners that accept low fee blocks.

the heck does that mean?

I think that bitcoin transactions are not reversible as if it is programmed into the system. You need to wait for a longer time until the input size od your transaction will be enough for those miners that accept low fee blocks.

today there has been a massive number of transactions (maybe an spam attack) so the number of unconfirmed transactions are growing as well.

the only thing you can do is wait for it to get confirmed.

and next time try to include standard fee that your wallet suggests. it is lower than recommended right now
