yes I mine home miners to the cex.io pool..

I purchased a small .1 share of ghs for like .008 btc so I have an account. I then used bfgminer software (thank you luke Jr.) and send the few am sticks and redfuries to the cex.io pool

for usa the address is

then my worker is

password is blank or what ever.

  for 125 usd you may lose or make money. My guess is lose.

  If I sold this for 99 you would stand a better chance. I could sell this for 150 on ebay if I had more of them. The 125 I sold them for was about 30 less then anyone else on ebay.

I would say the kit above is worth about 80-90 with current btc price.

If you are new and find a kit like the above kit. for 80 bucks you should get it. If you are new this would be a low cost way to get started.    Down the road you could add sticks.

asicminers are made for bitcoin , they could only mine bitcoin not scrypt coins like litecoin.

Well, 3x333MHs is 1GHS, and anything under 10GHs is not worth a while, I think... but fully equiped 49 port and mine with that.

Or get blades, which are 11GHs.

And no, you cant use ASIC miners for LTC

I know I'm late to the party, but if someone were to start mining bitcoin with
ASICMiner Block Erupters @ 330MH/s, how many would be needed to make it worthwhile?

Also, can these be used for mining litecoin?

As I see it the only way to get your money back and make a little extra is to buy hardware around or Above $2000. As ASIC mining technology advances shortly after so does the difficulty. When that happens the only way to be profitable is to run the newest machines for Several weeks or a few months following their mass production debut. That's why I'm looking at co-op or possibly overclocking the previous generation machines (I'm even contemplating my own ASIC design, but it will be a couple years before I start my Masters degree and get to play with that sort of hardware).

On the other hand I find it interesting that the bitcoin has increased in value so much that the USB erupters that I purchased my actually pay for themselves before the difficulty increases one or two more times.

If I'm wrong About this, someone Please correct me. I'm always up for good lesson.

$9 a week, you're talking about one of the 2 GH/s Fury units...

Optimistically (Very) you're looking at a ROI of 7-8 months, assuming the going rate on Ebay of $250 or so.

That also assumes that you have access to power that you don't pay for. And it assumes that the cost of BTC doesn't tank. And it assumes that your equipment lasts that long without breaking. And it assumes that the difficulty doesn't go up at a greater than predicted rate.

Too many And's in that assumption.
