37 here hehe, I wish I learned about bitcoin earlier. I wish I got a thousand of it while it was a few cents before.

I think this is the same regret of every bitcoiner here Tongue

Yeah, right!?

Hindsight is tough to reconcile. But as I remember it, back when BTC was trading at $10 or $100 it seemed so much more difficult to acquire (outside of mining). Back then you had to wire money to a random site to be able to get it over to Mt Gox or the Blockchain. Of course now the effort seems totally worth it but back then it seemed pointless.
Am 36 and from Africa. I hear about bitcoin for the past three years and since then, try to fashion out how to get it, for in my heart I believe since the day I had about it that is going to be a precious something in future, but my limitations then, was were to buy it without bank transfer, knowledge on were to store it and who will buy them from me if I want to sells it. I was able to make millions of satochi today rendering services online and I am very ok by it. From the part of the world I come from, you cannot get payment from services you rendered online through PayPal and that render my efforts uselessness, but  i can appreciate my efforts now getting payment for my services through bitcoin.
I am 17 and from philippines. My classmates helps me how to use bitcoins and how to earn bitcoins easily. I think bitcoins will help me to buy the things that I want and I will use it for business. For me bitcoins is very precious because you use it as money in online market.

Congratulation for your post is very interesting, hope to see the result of it Smiley. im 24 years old and im kind of a newbie in this matter just here to learn how to earn bitcoins and for paying my education in college Smiley

Many bitcoin users are over 30 years of age and above, but you have a higher potential than them, because in business, success is not only owned by people who have experience, but also people who continue to innovate and creative nature more owned by young age .

Wow this is very interesting study you are performing. I hope you will be successful in achieving your desired goal with this study. I am 25 by the way. You should also add ways of earning bitcoins in your polls. This will I guess clarify you that which is the best way and mega gateway for bitcoins. It will be helpful to others to get more bitcoins I assume.  Smiley

I agree with you, adding ways to earn bitcoin will be a great help to some members especially for newbies to give them an idea in which method is the most desirable and the most trusted way to earn bitcoins.

I already thought that the age of 30-40 is dominant in this community, while I included in 22-29, for the community aged 22-29 is the age that is still looking for capital, while for the age of 30-40 are the CEO's and owners of large capital .

According to poll, 84% of Bitcoin population is from age group 16-39 so far now. I have no doubt if this reflection is any far from real picture. Most of the Bitcoin users are those who either indulge in some start-ups or projects with mean age 25-39 whereas others are those who are trying to earn some btc with mean age 16-24, so this poll will broadly relfect adaption by these two groups.
However, I would be interested to see some polls regarding women users of Bitcoin. I always fascinate how much interest women take in Bitcoin!

I'm in the category of 30-39 years old.
This is the largest number of users. But I'm not surprised. At this age, people are mainly engaged in investment. Up to 30, usually everyone is engaged in training and marriage)

I also belong here and I beleive this is also the most productive group of Bitcoin users. By that age you usualy have some life experience, some funds to invest and some serious plans to achieve. It's good to see very many young people, almost kids, to join Bitcoin community but it's better if they have someone to guide them to prevent them from some fulish moves and decision. And I also beleive you are never too old to join the Bitcoin users world.

In addition the ages 30-39 years old are the level of age wherein people have already have a work and also they are technologically inclined. This is the age level wherein they are not very old to be not aware of the technological advancements that is occurring in the society. Then they are not also very young to have no source of income. Given those factors they have the most potentials to be using bitcoin.

I have so much spare time back then that I regret spending it playing computer games. I am a very hard working student back then and I know that I can do the same to earn bitcoin.

I'd say I'm old enough, but it doesn't surprise me at all that there's a large amount of people under 40 that use Bitcoin and then the use drops off pretty sharply after that. I have a feeling some of the -really- old people on there might just be putting their age high up, but hey, if they're really that old then good for them. It's always good to see a large spread of user ages.

Good to hear that mate. At least your friend has open door for you to have another earning as a sidelined. On a contrary, I think once should not just rely on signature campaigns because we don't know when will it end. What I do is the earnings I got from campaign, I usually put it to trading as well so that I still have bitcoin in my wallet whenever the campaign ends.

I guess that the most people using bitcoin are under the age of 29, because it is pretty much a new technology and obviously, many of the youth people are into some tech news.
On the other hand im sure we have got many older guys ( or girls Wink) here, I have already talked to 52 years old bitcoin user, one of the early adopters too which has truly amazed me.

Bitcoin isn't for specified group of people, it was made for everyone's use worldwide.
We shouldnt  build a barriers between our community, but cooparate together no matter what is the age difference.

It is all about technology and new ideas, why would we want to be limited by some divides that we make on our own?

This might be a target age to get interested in Bitcoin, the techy elements and all. But this isn't the age group that's driving Bitcoin price and acceptance growth, and the reasons why are: Older people have more money, thus can buy more bitcoin! Older people own businesses, thus can offer it up as payment for the goods and services their business offers.

I THINK AGE 16-21 YEARS OLD. Im 17 years old and Im turning 18 this september. I think that age is the one of  most bitcoin user bitcoin that age teenager want money so they hant job and they can see bitcoin. But I dont know what age  is the more user of bitcoin. Bitcoin User Poll Project

I'm developing a series of polls to identify some demographics about the bitcoin community, using the forum participants as a sample group for the larger bitcoin community. Please help me by completing the polls as they are posted. Feel free to share comments or debate the results as well.

The polls will cover the following topics - age, location, monthly income, bitcoin balance, etc.

These polls taken together can provide us a good picture of what the community looks like. I'll be happy to post all aggregated results here so everyone can benefit from the data.

Please spread the word to other users so we can great a response as possible!

Thanks!

I am 21 years old. I know that I am still young but I still wish that I have learned about bitcoin much earlier. I wish that I have learned about it when I was in high school because the time that I was in high school would be more convenient and also because that I have more free time back then. Young age can be a hindrance to think maturely but if I could go back to that time I know that I can handle it. I am so inspired with my friends who earns bitcoin at a good price that I wish I have known  about it much earlier.

I don't think that we need to differentiate between bitcoin and altcoin users all that much. We don't have serious and legit source to measure bitcoin demographic.
Doing research on altcoins - which are even more fragmented and divided form of crypto will be near impossible - you will have to research every coin separately.

I don't think so, actually you can use the altcoin discussion board, just keep it on top and a lot of people will participate, or, you can ask for a moderator to make sticky in some boards, so everyone can check it, this is why i proposed to use the google poll.

Then i will do my best to spread the word, by the way, i see that a lot of people are interested in this poll, have you done other polls ?
And, how about my idea about transfering them to a google poll form ? i know about other websites offering this kind of service for free, you can create polls and share the link, people can also see the results, after this, you can make a self update image showing the results in the thread, it may be easier to share.

Hi there, I am 37 and from Southeast Asia. Am actually very surprised to see that I'm in the mean age group. Perhaps it is only because people of our age are taking the trouble to participate in the poll, haha.

Quoting the above only because I faced similar problems with doing work online and getting paid for it. Back in the mid 90s for me, I still received cheques from US to Malaysia and had no problems cashing them. And then after Sep 11, things got tougher. Paypal was still too restrictive and expensive - there was e-gold.

E-gold was taken down by US, people like me lost all our deposits. So when bitcoin came on the scene, a lot of us stayed away, fearing another takedown. If only I'd understood it better then and not let my phobia of digital currency get in the way of things.

Here I saw the poll result , during submitting my poll , I found here the people of age 30 and above are more than of age which belongs to me . I think in the future of incoming 4-5 years the people will more increase in the bitcoin world at the age of 20-25 because of its efficiency of return of investment .

Agreed.

The biggest challenge we have with getting a lot of responses is that there isn't one central location for all forum members to see the polls. I need to rely on you all to help spread the word.

To Nemgun, If you frequent the alt boards, can you make post announcing that these polls exist which includes links so people can find them? I can provide a sample message if you want. I've done this in the general Bitcoin Forum board, and could probably do so in a few others that I frequent. However I don't want to be posting the same announcement across 15 boards at the same time, it'll surely be seen as spam...even if the intent to announce is genuine.

You can ask for the moderator's help, it is easy for them to make a sticky poll on each board, or, as it is a phpbb forum, they should have the possibility to create a global thread who will automatically be displayed in every board on the forum, like the forum rules for example.

However I don't want to be posting the same announcement across 15 boards at the same time, it'll surely be seen as spam...even if the intent to announce is genuine.

it is really strenge that 45% of the voters are 30-39, i expected it to be 22-39. Maybe the poll is generally related to the forum sections, have you tried to create a poll in the altcoin section ? maybe the ages are lower there, and it shall be higher in market section, or services.
can't you create a google poll ? and they you would just post it on the forum in every section, maybe you will have better datas.
I don't think that we need to differentiate between bitcoin and altcoin users all that much. We don't have serious and legit source to measure bitcoin demographic.
Doing research on altcoins - which are even more fragmented and divided form of crypto will be near impossible - you will have to research every coin separately.

Take comfort in knowing that you share that thought of "what if I knew earlier" with a lot of people...many, many people.

Investment Folks say there are a few times in ones life when opportunities become available to take advantage of huge future market growth. The challenge is being aware of the opportunity and seeing it as a genuine opportunity. Bitcoin was one of those few in a lifetime. Fortunately for you at 30 years old, there's bound to be another one or two with similar scale (upside potential). Just keep reading and listening and looking for that next opportunity!

30 here. I wish I learn bitcoin when I was 20 younger then. When bitcoin price is too cheap and hold some bitcoin until now. Maybe I was rich and earn well here in bitcoin world. Too sad I was late knowing bitcoin.

I'm developing a series of polls to identify some demographics about the bitcoin community, using the forum participants as a sample group for the larger bitcoin community.
Are you developing any new project which is based on bitcoin ecosystem. Because business people usually do come here and conduct polls to study about the spread of bitcoin among different countries and different age people.

I appreciate your efforts to identify the different characteristics of bitcoin users. I'm requesting you to publish them once you are having sufficient data. Because that may be helping many other businesses to plan accordingly.

Yeah, that would be more efficient, wouldn't it? Unfortunately we can only make one poll per thread in this forum.

I'd prefer to have everything in one thread, I'd be guaranteed better response across all polls. But the limitations of the forum are what I'm working with! If you don't appreciate the poll, thanks for the feedback.

I am in between 20 to 21 not over 21 yet.
Why don't you include all polls in single thread? I mean isn't this possible, it will be better not to flood board with polls.

But let's both acknowledge that the clutter is from signature campaign participants posting bullshit, repetitive comments to a thread that's been open for 6 months. There's zero need for there to be 20+ pages of posts, 100+ posts for most of these topics. Shit, there's an active thread called "Savings actually works", what the f***!?

I challenge you and others to post something new. Something the rest of us can actually discuss. That's what I'm trying to do with these polls.

About 20 or so respondents thus far, and most appear to be in their 30s. Good response but we can do better! And I KNOW there are younger and older folks cruising this forum.

Please fill this out along with the other 3 polls we have going - for location, income, and wealth.

Once you've done that, help us find more responses by:
  • Finding two forum friends to complete this poll
  • Posting about this poll in other forum boards (i.e., bitcoin forum, politics & society, projects, technical, beginners, local, etc)

We need your help!

29 here. First started collecting Bitcoins almost 3 years back... but took it seriously only since 2015. Too bad that I wasn't aware of Bitcoins in 2011 or 2012. I could have purchased them for $10 per coin.  Grin

Great responses and comments thus far. I've noticed that 16 people have answered this poll - are you all aware of the other polls we have running (each of which has fewer than 16 responses).

You can find them here:

The polls can be found in the Economics section, links below:

Please spread the word to other users so we can great a response as possible!

Thanks!

Im 32 years old and I am running 33 this year. What I like about your title is how young are we and not how old, that makes us feel more younger. I have started bitcoin seriously when I was 31 years old and at that time I am focused on collecting bitcoins in the faucets. I was not contented and so I have done many research until finally when I reach 32 years old I am earning hundreds of dollars from online jobs in the form of bitcoin,

Thanks!
