Hi everyone, I'm new to the platform and a new crypto-currency lover and passionate about blockchain technology. I have lots of ideas and questions about crypto currencies and my first one, could Bitcoin see its value increase as much as in 2017? Thank you  Tongue

Bitcoin has the potential to increase as much as 2017, but we don't have the right time when it will happen. No one will know how much price bitcoin can rise, but I predict that the price will increase more than $20k in the future. Although that increase is not healthy, as long as we can be ready for the coming, we will have a chance to make a lot of money. So far, bitcoin has reached $8500, and that is a good sign for bitcoin to break the higher price.
Bitcoin is finding a lot of problems to go up and it is not difficult to see why, the bears seem to have a very strong resistance level at 9000 and until we can break that resistance in a decisive way the price is not going to increase and since I am not really sure the recent increase in the price of bitcoin is very solid then it is possible we will begin to see a small correction, people need to be very patient a bull run will come but this does not seem like the correct time for the bull run to appear.

Yes. Ratio demand/supply hasn't changed from before the rally. This will only change after the halving. But a steady climb in the support levels has started, which means that every low will be higher than the one before. The reason why, is because the number of people doing HODL is increasing. Everyone wants to secure there positions as we approach May. So in a sense supply will have a steady drop during this next months (ratio demand/supply > 1, new price = Price x D/S). If there is a crazy rally it is just whales taking advantage of FOMO. Volatillity will be very present in this period.
That is definitely a possibility, however there are some traders out there that are warning that we are still not out of the bear market and if you remember there was a time during 2018 in which it seemed as if bitcoin was out of the bear market and then it returned and it made the price even lower, that may happen again and in the case it happens we need to be prepared for that scenario, I know no one likes to think about that but if it happens and you are not prepared you could lose a lot of money.

Everyone longs to go back to 2017 where it is history for BTC and Altcoins because at that time there were no worthless coins, all had a sale value and had a market, it could be said that Altcoin at that time was also called the fertile period, how could it not be BTC and the other altcoin is at the highest price. Now talk whether that period will be repeated again?
from my point of view as a user, I am always optimistic, that it will be repeated again, but most likely it will not be repeated in the short term or the short term, because it all requires a process. Can 4-5 years in the future maybe. And there is one thing that in my opinion can cause the price of BTC and altcoin to rise again, namely the absence of negative issues and everyone trusts btc and altcoin, if all of that is fulfilled I think the price will continue to improve.

I think it definitely will be worth more then it was in 2017 but who knows when. I am looking into the longterm and I believe in the technology and stand behind it.

yes I think bitcoin still has a chance to go up high like 2017. Even though bitcoin continues to decline does not mean that bitcoin will crash and become zero. bitcoin has high fluctuations so going down and going up is a common thing we don't need to panic. keep holding on and wait until the bull market comes. and most bitcoin investors are optimistic that bitcoin will pump after being reduced by half next year.

The thing is that as bitcoin market grows so the people getting mature as well. If we think of the massive bull run in 2017, there's a lot of irrational buyers that time that thought bitcoin will go on a parabolic rise. We might see bull run in the future, but I don't think it will be the same as 2017, I mean it might take some time so to be honest I'm not expecting 2020 to be the a bull run year. We might see some increase but we won't touch all time high, in my opinion.
Bitcoin increase in 2017 is not healthy, it's like a game, an increase of 200% then going down makes Bitcoin very feared, including Altcoin which until now hasn't recovered yet, if everyone hopes 2020 will be like 2017, that's not happen

Yes but a game you can profit from. People always focus on the bull and never the bear. The bear sneaks up behind them and mauls them to death. When the price drops you can make profits too. When the price goes down it is a way to increase the number of bitcoins you have. People are still thinking of bitcoin in terms of its USD value and not as a currency.
Yes people think that bitcoin is not a currency but it is the only an asset but tell me where is the place that does not accept the value of bitcoin. We are well aware of bitcoin that all around the world people are buying and selling with bitcoin so in this way being agree with such an idea is really bad. We should buy some bitcoins in a bearish market and hold them until grow as bitcoin is having unbeatable value.

During the fixed supply, there is these variable that affect the value of Bitcoin, that variables are adopting investors, whales manipulating prices and weak hands panicking.  These three affect the price value of Bitcoin and which ever of them is active at a current time will indicate how the bitcoin market will behave.  Then comes the halving, halving accelerate the increase of Bitcoin price value because of the ratio adoption rate : number of incoming supply.  Thus in the end even without the Bitcoin halving, Bitcoin will increase in value due to the demand getting bigger as time goes by due to the fact that the percentage of Bitcoin being mined is far greater than the number of population involved on crypto industry to the remaining % of each.

Reaching and surpassing its all-time high price in the market is still possible to happen and but at this moment we still don't know where bitcoin will go because the price will fluctuate. By just exploring here I have a lot of prediction on the price of bitcoin and take note that some of them tell that bitcoin will reach the 50,000$ to 100,000$. However, the future price of bitcoin is still questionable and unpredictable that's why we should keep on believing as long many people support and invest on it. Besides, if ever there will be a new bull market we might witness a new all-time high price but based on the current state of market there is no any bull run sign.
While bitcoin is going to move in the way it moves regardless of our wishes a price of 50k or even 100k will without a doubt create excitement for bitcoin in the media but I am sure that if we reach that price anytime soon then the price is going to crash at an amazing speed and it took us years to recover from the last one and I do not want to think how many years we will need for the market to recover after such crash, so it is better that bitcoin grows slowly instead of going up rapidly like what we are seeing now.

It's superb and I think those crazy increase made because the demand more risen up when people see the price keep soaring but hopefully we will not encounter only those the same effect but I want to see that after the crazy pump happen the price go stable since if the dump will occur for sure many people will find the halving easy to predict on next upcoming years.

Pray for Bitcoin to move again in the era of 2017, maybe.

What is impossible is all that can happen out of mind, but for now you already have a bitcoin stock value for your future.

If you have a few bitcoins that you buy and store at the moment, you can wait for the presence of a $ 20,000 bitcoin value for the next few years, nothing is impossible, all of that can be possible when you are negligent.

When you no longer care about Bitcoin that's where a situation like 2017 will emerge.

Of course, but we can't really predict perfectly when it's going to happen.

Just make a simple analysis, bitcoin supply is pretty limited and some supply are lose in circulation, and if the supply and demand will play, and demand increase, that means price will follow, in addition, the hype that would create FOMO again is still here, we just have to wait until it's pulled.

It is obvious that the price of bitcoin is going to at some point reach the same value that we saw in 2017 but we still do not know when that will happen and if you do not want to be one of those that miss that opportunity and then regrets not investing in this market then you only have one option, and that is to invest in bitcoin and keep holding your coins until that day comes, this is going to be difficult but it is completely worth it since the profits that you can get are amazing.

Definitely, bitcoin will reach and surpass that value in the future, what it is interesting to know is how long this will take and if you are going to be around to take advantage of the huge profits bitcoin will generate, it is very easy to answer yes to those questions but look at what happened after 2017, when the price crashed many of those that said they will hold their bitcoin for the rest of their lives sold their bitcoin.

And unless you bought at the very top of the market just 18 months later you had the opportunity to sell your bitcoin for 14000 but many of those people were nowhere to be found as they had sold their coins for much less months before.

It could still possibly happened. Bitcoin by nature is unpredictable, and volatile. It may get to the point that the market of it might get quite more higher than what 2017 did. But the thing is, we don't know yet when will it happened though. Also, we better yet expect less than too much. Let us just wait, and do our stuff here.

If everything goes according to whats expected there will be a huge increase in price before this year ends.

The whole reason why people think the price will go up is the halving, if halving doesn't deliver what people think it will deliver I am afraid there won't be that type of increase. So, we have to hope that bitcoin would go up and halving would affect bitcoins price, there are millions of reasons why halving should be increasing the price and many people think the same so I still think no matter what happens the price will go up.

If it doesn't go up now eventually it will, there is no way bitcoin stays low while the cost of it doubles, sure miners could top mining which would drop the hashrate and therefore the cost but when that happens they will restart their machines.

It is hard to tell that it is will happen again, but our hope is still there that btc will reach that 2017 price or surpass it in upcoming years. we should not expect more this to happen so it will bot affect our emotions, just continue to focus btc's current price and in potential altcoins. maybe, 2020 will gave us a slight indication to btc's price and it will change what we expected.
That is the fact at this moment, it's hard to predict and tell what will happen in the future. But still, we are hoping that bitcoin price will comeback as what the price back then in the year 2017 which is we are all happy to see that bitcoin to the moon. Everyone was excited about the result of bitcoin block reward halving and we are hoping this is the answer that bitcoin will pump up the price in the market. Indeed, it's unpredictable and no one knows, let us wait and let the time will reveal the truth soon.

There's a chance but it is still vague if the value of Bitcoin will increase just like it had way back in 2017. We are in a downtrend for now but as the next halving is done we might see a difference I do believe that Bitcoin will be more than that. Massive adoption will be a good factor in order to achieve this amount of price. Just have patience and believe on it I am pretty sure that as a bull market comes there's a chance for bitcoin to grow more than what 2017 does have.

Actually we cannot get a massive adoption if the performance of bitcoins will still continue to act the same since new people will find Bitcoin un good for their investment since the price keeps declining, but hopefully we can see a another good pump the same on 2017 action since if halving will bring up a good market scenery provably we can see a new and old investor will grab back the Bitcoin and altcoins again.

I believe we will eventually see a strong bull run but not this year. I think the next bull run will really begin just before the halving in May 2020 and it will take at least a year for the price to reach a high with a bubble just befor a correction.

Yes, but no one knows when.

Hoarding more bitcoin is the idea.
The demand will easily go up making the value grow more.
You better buy now while its cheap. You will also never know when or how much the bottom will be.
It could be now with this price or tomorrow with just $100 of a change.

Most of us including myself expecting it to happen by next year or 2021 but remember, this is just speculation. Not a 100% guaranteed that it will going to happen by just looking at the history. The market is very volatile, that's why anything could happen contrary to expectations. But if you will think how far btc have reached throughout the years, I guess it's safe to say that btc will set another ATH in the following years.

What is the idea behind this?
You just want history to repeat itself but I doubt that will come soon.
It may take time now and that will be the best for all.
Slow increase is what makes bitcoin more valuable.
If I were you I would not expect too much. If you are looking for profits then better to eye for something else and not just waiting.

of course it is still possible for bitcoin to reach $ 20,000 as of 2017. It will be easy for bitcoin to reach $ 20,000 when bitcoin enters the bull market. right now we are still in the bear market. and also every 4 years bitcoin will be reduced by half which will make the price of bitcoin increase. although currently the price of bitcoin is only $ 6800 I am sure in the future the price of bitcoin will increase to $ 20000. we really have to be patient to be able to obtain large profits.

Years probably. Halving next year will probably trigger the price to move higher. Halving had always been one of the reason why prices are going to appreciate. A crypto user would expect that to happen unless the regulations are going to make it hard for us. A change of things can impact terribly when there are countries banning BTC despite the adoption in other countries.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the platform and a new crypto-currency lover and passionate about blockchain technology. I have lots of ideas and questions about crypto currencies and my first one, could Bitcoin see its value increase as much as in 2017? Thank you  Tongue
Bitcoin is a unpredictable crypto currency so will move rapidly on 2017 so number of investors and countries are accepting the Bitcoin efficient. Blockchain technology is safer and secure platform so future days it will be accepted in entire world. Nowadays market is little lagging so we can't said the Bitcoin value on anywhere and it will raise on further years.

Probably not. Price in 2017 increased from $950 to $14000. That is over 1400%.  I dont see almost any chance we will see a 1400% price increase of Bitcoin in a single year ever again. Closest to this number will probably be year 2021.  2020 will be similar as this year so around 100% increase.

of course it can because a lot of new people and big companies entered the world of crypto. they adopt bitcoin as a long-term payment or investment. then approaching halving bitcoin, of course bitcoin is more difficult to mine. market law is that when supply decreases, prices will rise.

Yes it's great news that the new users and organizations are entering the crypto domain especially bitcoin as altcoin's future relies on Bitcoin's performance as of now but there is a negative side as well because the more new corporates enter the market the more it's prone to be manipulated.

There is a possibility, every year is a possibility that Bitcoin can and make a comeback, it's hard for the price to stand still when there are many more new people coming in to invest, especially now everybody here are talking about Bitcoinhalving, people are exciting on this halving and look we already have a Bitcoin halving countdown.

Halving event can make it happens, but since you just new to this place I suggest you to find more about bitcoin and learn everything about it.

A bit clumsy when I talk to someone who haven't knew more about bitcoin and talking how the price it is in the future. I'll believe that bitcoin will have a high valure just because there is something who can make it happens.

As I mentioned above bitcoin price can easily touch a high price again such as in 2017 through halving event. You may need to know more about the history halving event and maybe you will accept it for sure.

of course I am sure bitcoin can reach $ 20,000 like 2017 yesterday. we just need to wait and be patient. why I am sure because bitcoin will be reduced by half next year. and if we look at the bitcoin graph in previous years. bitcoin will always pump after halving. and we've been in the bear market for a long time. so I think next year is the time for the bull market and hopefully bitcoin can get a new ATH in 2021.

The increase in 2017 was a price bubble and then we had a crash. I think that will happen again but not for a couple of years. Maybe mid to late 2021. I base that on the fact the historically, the Bitcoin price experiences a bubble about every 4 years.

Yes, it could, but the question is when. It isn't really foreseeable right now as to when BTC would actually reach another ATH, like how it was back in 2017, but it would eventually reach so. Plus, it has a greater chance right now with the halving inching closer to us, which would occur at May 2020. Expect a BTC comeback from the recent bear runs.

It can or it cannot be if you are rushing to see it by next year. This will not be easy the next time around because we're seeing the market to stabilize itself and we're actually seeing the true growth of the market.
No bubble so the next peak might be because of the real growth and adoption of the people to it. I advise you to hold bitcoin within a long term period.

There is a good chance and I’d actually bet money on it. the crypto space has been suffering from a bear run for the 2018. It has reached to a ground level after it's historic peak in 2017. Don't forget, we are still in bearish season and the value of various cryptocurrencies has been dropped significantly. Now, as the trend of any financial market, a bull run is expected after the bear run. I expect BTC to become bullish in 7-9 months, as it will slowly start to rise in early 2020.

The bearish market included year 2019 of it's influence to many traders and holders. That's why we're now in continuation with fluctuating and dumped price from November until now as December started. I can't expect any bullrun for now, honestly speaking, that doesn't conform with the reality of the market because if we have to monitor that every minute it has not significant signs. On year 2020, let's see what will be the trend before we finally can say its a kind of bullrun that we waited for years.

in my opinion bitcoin can rise like 2017 and reaching defirent prices compared with before halving and can rise constatly but not like 2017 (big pump) in bad case ; price generally to rise above 100000 usd per btc 2020---2021 . and i think always that it not prices those high level

Bitcoin as a crypto is well known as a bullish coin. Watching from the early release of BTC till now, you could easily see how BTC has grown from then and now. Taking its influence globally, its easy to assume that BTC could still see a potential rise the same as 2017. Besides, the potential of BTC hasnt been spent yet, there are still supplies coming and the end still aint near after all. Halvings are still coming and honestly, i'd be long dead when BTC reaches the top .

I believe it is impossible. because history shows us just what events and trends were like when something was happening. In fact, the price chart also shows that the market is going down strongly and there is no stop. But if the price of bitcoin goes up from now on, I think the price of Bitcoin will grow a lot more than in 2017 because the bottom of Bitcoin in 2019 is 2 times higher than the bottom of 2018.

If you look at Bitcoin’s main use cases
- Money laundering
- Darknet black market transactions
- Speculations
- Maybe store of value in some places (Venezuela)

The black market on darknet (if we put ethics aside) is a 92 trillion dollar business, and BTC covers all of its transactions, BTC’s market cap today is 130B, there’s room to grow.

I don’t have a good grasp on how many are actually using BTC for money laundering, would love to see if someone has data on this.

So yea I think Bitcoin will keep going up

Bitcoin is programmed to increase in price to counter inflation.
So we expect it it to naturally and continuously increase in price. If somehow the price stops going up while demand keeps going up then it's certainly not normal or natural. Also if price remains stable while demand is decreasing,  it's certainly not normal or natural.

you can see it in this forum full of lots of speculation and price predictions, you can follow old threads or new threads there that talk about this, but I can't say much or speculation just say it needs 1 to 2 years if you want it like in in 2017 then happened again

No one knows. It's very possible, but it's definitely not guaranteed to happen. In my opinion, it's just a matter of when. If you can wait decades, then sure I think it will happen. You just gotta have proper risk control in terms of your investments as bitcoin is a very risky asset.

A very good question from you, is that we must be optimistic that such an event will be repeated with Bitcoin. if you don't believe anymore, why would you want to join crypto? precisely because we believe that bitcoin will change. indeed the current movement of bitcoin and altcoin is not good, but we must be optimistic that there will be changes and maybe better than 2017.

I would venture to say that there is going to be a big increase months from now all because of the coming Bitcoin rewards halving since this is already expected and there is more chance that this can be like a self-fulfilling prophecy for the market. Now, having said that, what we can not foresee if there can be the same or even more pump as compared to the 2017 run. The market is now still positive that there must be something good and big coming for Bitcoin, otherwise there would be more discouragement in the market and Bitcoin will really fall out of grace.

Yes certainly as more countries are adopting cryptocurrencies for their daily live payment methods as governments.

Not in a quick boosted way but rather small baby steps you will find yourself looking at the charts increasing (i hope).

You can see from the past events that these speculations tend to cause price change by a lot.
Laws like latest EU's for Germany banks are the ones that motivate these price rise as more people will be interested in investing.

To be honest, I think a question like this is meaningless. The answer is heavily influenced by the user attitude towards Bitcoin and nobody can know for sure. Investment is called speculation because of a reason dude.

If you're new and want to invest, then take a look at the fundamentals by yourself instead of asking people whether they think Bitcoin will have a crazy bull run like 2017 or not.

Bitcoin has been around for a decade now and has made significant improvements over the years when it comes to blockchain. I believe the value will also improve after some time. For now, its great to know that it value never decline since it started so I'm positive that it will remain as valuable as it is today in the next few years.

Sure, my guess is it will happen in around 3-5 years.
Bitcoin is at beggining of its road. It will either die or spike in value very hard.
$100 000 per coin is very possible in next peak, even more. Regular price after next bubble around $35000-$50000 per coin.
