Ok, I though Vietnam has also a hard stance against Bitcoin, if so then they are putting a big risk here. Yes, they can comply to AML/KYC but if the government is very hostile, it will just be a matter of time before they going to shut it up, just saying. Anyways, let's see how it goes, of course every good news is very welcoming to crypto sphere, specially those crypto enthusiast from Vietnam (I'm sure they are many by just looking at their local boards.)

What is the risk that the Vietnamese government is getting into? The trading company is a private company and not owned by the government. I have read back in 2018 that the government of Vietnam seized a trading company for cryptocurrency. I don't know if the policy of that country was change but still, people should be careful and do a research first before venturing in this trading company.

..vietnam government are taking the risk in getting involve in crypto,that's why they creating an online bitcoin trading company which is a good news for all vietnamese who are Bitcoin enthusiast for it is the first step for them to bitcoin to become legal in their country..I hope not only in vietnam would have the place for bitcoin development,but also in all countries.. ..

They are basically taking a risk since the government can interfere at any point of time and shut down their operation completely which is why investors need to be careful when investing in these exchanges.

OTC solutions are better in this aspect.

Even after the Vietnamese government said in February that it didn’t recognize Bitcoin and wouldn’t allow it for any transaction, Bitcoin has seen a rise in Vietnam.

On March 25th, the Bitcoin Vietnam Company Ltd and Israeli Bit2C, announced that they would be opening the first online Bitcoin trading system in Vietnam. According to vietnamnet, the Bitcoin exchange is called VBTC, and it will open at the end of April.

Bitcoin Vietnam: Use of Bitcoin not Prohibited

Bitcoin Vietnam, said that it started the process of opening an exchange in March 2014 by allowing brokerage services for trading, and allowing users to buy and sell Bitcoin.

Even though the State Bank warned about the risks of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Vietnam managers have said the digital currency was never banned in Vietnam. In fact, the managing director of company, Nguyen Tran Bao Phuong, said on Buu Dien that Vietnam would be a fertile ground for Bitcoin development.
