Yes as far as I know the other versions or copy-cats are faster in terms of transactions and has lower fees as compared to BTC. I am just wondering though if there are direct sellers of these altcoins like you can purchase directly a certain altcoin like BCH or BTG without purchasing BTC first then buying BTG or BCH from exchangers.

Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin Gold

Aside from the miners' perspective, what are the benefits of each over the other?

From what I understand, the 2 new versions are quicker in their transactions. But for how long?

Yes, these forks, Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Cash are faster, and as we see, they are successfully traded. However, you cannot compare them with BTC.
This #1 cryptocurrency wins in this competition is all directions.

Hi,

For me the congestion pb is sure a current one BUT won't be in the future thanks to the Lightening Network...

So it's not a real issue.
Moreover :

1) today people don't buy Bitcoin tu use it ! You know many people purchasing with BTC ? No now it's a store of value with also this potential of being a future currency thanks to the improvements.
2) and more important : ask people around you about who just start considering investing in crypto and know nothing about it (99% of the population I would say :-)) : they just want not to miss the train and they just want to buy BITCOIN.

That's my point of view...

I will still choose BTC over the BTCxxx coins, they are just copycats from the forks BTC can dump all the alts if the price surges like today.

With all the congestion in the current Bitcoin core network and the insane price surge which makes fees higher then ever, BCH and BTG are gaining popularity for their increased block size and facilitating faster transactions.
As Bitcoin scales to a higher level with time, problems will start mounting. A big example would be companies stopping Bitcoin acceptance due to volatility and high fees. This would be an ideal scenario for these forked coins to step in and go big as they have already moved past Ethereum in price.
