Hey everyone. I'm looking to implement a new method for securing a bitcoin wallet. I'm not sure how to build a dev team or where to start. Or would it be better idea to find a dev team already building.. Any suggestions? Thanks

Just a question though, I hope you don't get me wrong, how can you build a method of security a bitcoin wallet when you yourself don't have a experience during coding? (I presume?). And you don't know that maybe the dev you are going to hire will just give you a half baked program? or even some backdoor? I guess it's better to get dev's near your place, at least you can easily monitor them instead of hiring someone who is anonymous?

I have experience with Linux and sql. I worked for AT&T mobility where we test device packages for every device on the network with encryption. Blockchain is not my expertise. But I always see people on this site trying to discredit others, so I'm not at all surprised with your comment or the joke who replied before you. Thanks for advice maybe local help will work

i dont think OP is capable for this even with or without escrow.
by his statement looking for team, its enough for me OP is just want to start project without spend money, and likely other project. To start project even just new wallet project you need to spend $100k or even more.

is the final result going to be some sort of product or service that you would be "selling" to people? if so then go to services board and post what skills you are looking for and hire developers to develop what you want. find an escrow and put their payments with that escrow until they finish the job and the escrow releases their payment.
The difficulty here lies in how to define the escrow? Is it a guarantee to deliver the code? How to verify that it is safe? Without any backdoors? How to develop the project in the future?.
I do not think that relying on anonymous people to build an idea or develop a site/app will be feasible in the long term.

usually when someone does something like this, they themselves have coding experience. the problem is that they either don't have the time to develop things themselves or not enough experience to do it right. so they hire someone to do it better (after checking their resume,...) and then only check the code afterwards to make sure it is safe, etc.
as for escrow, there are obviously complications involved but there is no bette ralternative. trust should work both ways.

Gathering a team for a legitimate project on Bitcointalk is easier said than done. I tried to low key recruit some people for a simple website related to altcoins and I could not find a proper help here. All the serious developers are too rich or too busy to work for small fish like us.

Best is you try some recruitment platform or even Linkedin, that should help.

The idea of an open-source project is the best solution but I think you need to forget the business segment.
Ideas do not bring money, you need to develop your skills more than that.

Thank you that is such a good point. I did not want to potentially have anonymous or several different devs to plug and play with the code. I may need to develop the skills. Thanks and open source is making sense

We have the Services board here where you can post something like you are looking for devs to help you out building your project. But just be cautious though as there might be newbies pretending to be a good developer, so just filter all the applicants.

On the service board many offer themselves to developers on projects I think there are many experts and experienced in their fields, but to secure a bitcoin wallet with a new method I have never seen I think the OP should look for it in service.

Any budget though? usually great coders requires high pay, so you have to look at that as well. I guess it better you build your own team, at least you can have total control of everything, as the mover behind the project, best of luck.

otherwise, either post the idea here and see if anyone is interested in joining the open source and free development of a new method or start developing it yourself by opening a github repository and post about it on the internet (this forum and reddit would be a good start) then if the idea was really interesting you will slowly get contributors.

New method to secure bitcoin wallet will be a great idea. Will it work for other coins wallets also  ?
If you need a dev team to complete this project, all you need to do is to write down all the features you plan to implement in the new wallet.

You can look for other experienced wallet builder by making a thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

You can either recruit paid members or free members interested in your project.
