Its a good idea, but I think its a bit not convenient for computer user who doesnt has a web cam, and then how powerful is the security, can it be unlock using image?or print out photo?

i think fingerprint is a better option than facial recognition. it is easier and also the technology is available too. i have not seen any practical usage for facial recognition but my laptop has finger print lock!

I don't think all those technologies that monitor biological traits like your fingertips to unlock your phone and whatnot... will never be as safe as a strong password under a strong algorithm like SH256. So personally I will never risk that a doppelganger of me steals my Bitcoin when the password is good enough.

Bitcoin Wallet with face recognition is something which will give your identification and bitcoin is mainly used for not giving any identity proof, and more it think this will be used only for mobile wallets because for desktop they will be needing webcam to go for face recognition . I think it wont work for Bitcoin Technology
It's good to hear in bitcoin coming with face identification but anonymous is the best part of bitcoin. It's will change some scamming activity by scammers

Face recognition in the future might work very well. Appearantly they can already easily see if you are holding a picture due to specific reflections of paper.

As far as 3d models and masks go, who would go through the effort for only a few btc? For more ok, but also this can be improved with infrared heat readings for instance or iris scans included.

how about someone takes a video of your face and use it for authentification?

Same as with a photo, playing it of any surface gives certain reflections that can be picked up by the camera.

One of the big companies working on facial recognition mentioned that this could easily be detected. Forgot where I read it, but was some tech site.

I don't believe face recognition technology is advanced enough to provide the right security levels I'd like. I could be wrong of course, but holding up a picture or creating a 3D model might be all you'd need.

that's what i thought too. it is not yet that advanced for using. besides i think it might be too expensive to implement a good security with it so it might not be worth it.

and also there are still enough ways to secure your bitcoins with cold storage and hardware wallets that i don't feel the need for any more security measures.

It will be annoying as hell.Image every now and then you have to verify your face ,which takes minimum of 30-50 seconds. Not a good option when they are highly secure options like 2FA or one time codes which expire in the span of few seconds.Finger prints would still be a better option if its as accurate as the Iphone lock.

It looks quite strange and unbelievable that bit coin would adopt such technology but its good in favor of its users to avoid any duplicity and for more better security. Lets hope this would work same like finger print scanning or stuff like that earlier being used.

Nice features as long as it adds more security layer on top of the bitcoin, we could have finger print, eye detector, voice recognition as well.

think so too. and i dont like the idea of scanning my pretty face either  Wink

My face is way too pretty to be scanned Wink

Also, biometric information isn't all that secure at the consumer level. I remember there was some fuss about the Galaxy S5 thumbprint scanner being easy to hack. I don't like the idea of my thumbprint or face being traded as a commodity in the nefarious corners of the world.

What's the issue of getting your face scanned exactly ? If you know that the wallet is open source and you picture is not going/used anywhere else ?

In your opinion , would that be something nice to have ? or It will make it easier to hack people bitcoin's ?
I think It would be something good to have if it's done properly but ... It will be probably for only those who actually care about their privacy etc ... and not for people who share their personal information's (pictures , videos in social media etc) because that could get them hacked . After all I'm not sure how powerful the face recognition technology could be and how easy it could be faked .
