Most of the websites nowadays require at least phone verification.
You "must" do that if you want to use their service(in this case coinbase)
And increase the security level at the same time which is more important for us rather than sending us spam which i still have not got any yet.

Yea I agree, I got phone verification on all my important services: emaill, social medial, etc...

So that these important sites can be recovered. I use the same phone number for 10+ years so it's worth alot of money Cheesy

If you are not careful also the phone verification can be bypassed by hackers.
For example through social engineering hackers can get your verification code from your phone
And access any sensitive information and data in this case the bicoin wallet.

Thanks in advance

you can use xapo wallet, you can share your xapo referal link and get reward 50bits Smiley
or you can use coinbase wallet, he give some reward too Wink

my best wallet is coinbase Smiley good wallet with sms verification

I hear you man, xapo is pretty neat, they give nice reward for signups i think everybody should join them.

I like blockchain info, because its more privacy friendly, but if you just want money then go for xapo.

I think that to earn this reward you should verify your account.
At least verifying though your mobile number phone, but at least they give reward.
I think that coinbase give reward too, it was 3bits before don't know if it is still available but these reward are nothing, just check which wallet fits your needs and you are ok.

Yea, but they will probably use your phone number to send spam SMS, or if they will sell it to 3rd parties who do that, who knows.

Many companies do that, they collect phone numbers and emails.

blockchain.info wallet is the best online wallet while multibit is a cool desktop wallet i use only them and i dont need any others as they provide everything i need

It's missing one category that is cold storage.  A paper wallet or other's that have been discussed in here.

If storing a lot I highly suggest looking into cold storage.  If done right it's the safest kind.

for me blockchain.com is more trusted to any online wallet and many of us are using blockchain.com easy to use and can recover your bitcoin.

Not really, since they has been removed from bitcoin.org wallet list, a lot people complaint about their wallet, their wallet is too easy to hacked and their block explorer has been broken recently.

There are some online wallet which have good security features than blockchain wallet, check out BitGo.

As a hot wallet i am using coinbase, it is an exchange and as a wallet at the same time.
I don't put large amounts of bitcoins there but it does it job to send receive coins.
The bad thing about coinbase is that they don't provide the private key, which makes us to not controll directly our bitcoins.

For a Newbie who just started in BTC , you should take something simple like Multibit or even simplier like Electrum . and it's pretty secure you can recover your wallet easily a seed of some random words

& Im pretty sure they earn money from donations , there is a lot of supporters of BTC .

Yea but i still don't get how the Wallet Developers earn the money?

Now you're just trolling, aren't you?
Several people have pointed out that wallet developers rely on donations. Other than that, they don't charge the users for anything.

What's the deal? Are you looking to develop a wallet of your own and worried about how you would cover the expenses?

Armory has received a total of 331 btc as donation (https://blockchain.info/address/1ArmoryXcfq7TnCSuZa9fQjRYwJ4bkRKfv) while Multibit has received a total of 54 btc as donation (https://blockchain.info/address/1AhN6rPdrMuKBGFDKR1k9A8SCLYaNgXhty)

Me too. I had Core wallet and the whole block chain was on SSD. I don't know if it has something to do with how SSD manage their space but i had constantly rebuild index or re-download the whole thing.... With Electrum I have no such worries, tasks to do... I love it!

I personally would recommend you to use Either Multibit or Electrum , specially Electrum , pretty safe and they give you a 12 word seed when you start setting it up , you should write those words down on a paper and safe them.
In case on a Computer failure you can recover  your wallet anywhere & anytime with the seed , note that if you import new adresses and you import them ... those adresses won't get recovered from the seed since they are custom

Yes and there is also another use for Electrum. With that 12 word seed you can install the same wallet to other operating systems and use wallet simultaneously on all of them (Windows, Linux, Android...)

Well it is based on your preferences and needs. If you want to feel secured, use wallets that are heavily encrypted or just use offline wallets, take a paper wallet for example. But if you are the spending type and always wants to get his coins moving, using a wallet that is always connected to the internet (like an Android wallet or the blockchain.info wallet) might be of a great help. And regarding the last question, devs don't earn money from that. They usually get something through donations from users.

Regarding wallets, Electrum, Multibit and blockchain.info are the easiest to use for newbies, while Bitcoin core and Armory give you more advanced features. If you want the highest level of security, you can use paper wallet, offline wallet and hardware wallet.

yea i meant how do Wallet Developers earn money
as far as i know they just get donations.
take Electrum for example, there are lots of servers that you can connect to and they just accept donations and the service is completely free

I don't find any donation address for electrum on their site.

On the other hand, Armory has received a total of 331 btc as donation (https://blockchain.info/address/1ArmoryXcfq7TnCSuZa9fQjRYwJ4bkRKfv) while Multibit has received a total of 54 btc as donation (https://blockchain.info/address/1AhN6rPdrMuKBGFDKR1k9A8SCLYaNgXhty)

If you want to start out with more secure and help build the network, you can always get bitcoin-qt.

Despite the great online wallets out there, like blockchain theres some recent history w. stolen bitcoins with the secure 2Fa login. This isnt to frighten anyone, but theres a reddit link within that thread of a long list of people.
