I think 2015 will see huge advances in the utilization of the Bitcoin Blockchain. I'm not certain about the price of the currency, but that is a long-term play anyhow.

Bitcoin cannot be "broken", so how can it be a make-or-break year?

I am sure most it means in terms of price.

Yeah it has to be in terms of price..BTC It cant be broken physically..! Tongue

If Bitcoin can keep the price staying above $200 in 2015, that's good enough.

It's been a make or break year for 6 years already since 2009.

As far as I'm concerned this math/programming experiment is still in early Beta.

We's stills in the Infrastructure building stage, gentlemens.

So far Bitcoin has only been around during relatively 'stable' markets, what will show Bitcoins worth is how it will operating during a financial crisis like what happened in 2008 and I definitely think that 2015 will be when it will happen, it's already starting since the Swiss have pulled out of the Euro, now we just wait for the other contries to fall.

We usually have this discussion every year, except for end of 2013 maybe .
But yeah, a rough start to the year . Hopefully things get better soon. Mainly the price has bene affected this year.

No, not every year is critical the next year critical... This year BTC will not reach max 500$, buy most of the speculator and bitcoiner has the same thinking that btc will cross 1000$ in next year.

That is what we say every year..! every year is critical in the early adoption of BTC..!  It will probably take a few years for us to get past the critical stage..!! It all depends on the adoption..

Every year can be a make or break year if you want to.

I don't see why 2015 should be special or important in terms of Bitcoin's future.

Year on year Bitcoin is gaining interest from merchants and other services.

Every year is and has been important for Bitcoin.

Last year was an annus horribilis for bitcoin. Its price, once up above $1,200, sunk below $250. The second-largest bitcoin exchange had to temporarily suspend operations after a large-scale hack. And there have been two high-profile criminal prosecutions of bitcoin entrepreneurs. It was enough for some commentators to dub 2015 a make-or-break year for the currency, with experts saying it needs to find a purpose or face extinction. But that’s only one side of the story. There’s also been a flood of venture capital and bitcoin startups, as well as interest from legitimate bodies such as the New York stock exchange, all of which suggests bitcoin is here to stay.
