I don't think Bitcoin will end the nation state. People get paid in fiat, not bitcoin.

The state of the nation state is that people are in bondage to the nation. Take a look how the government is making inroads into regulating Bitcoin. It isn't Bitcoin that government is regulating. Rather, it is the people, just like government is regulating everything else in their lives.

This is an interesting point. It is not bitcoin itself which is being regulated by the nation state (I believe national governments understand bitcoin is highly unregulatable). But rather, it is the people, the citizens, who are in contact with this tool that are being regulated. The citizens themselves, not the tool is what is being targeted.

How then, does one make themselves unable to be targeted? Formless and adaptable like water?

Satoshi Nakamoto set in motion the unraveling of the nation state and the end of central banking … two closely related institutions that have directed history since history has been recorded. Will it be enough to alter our conventional political paradigm? Travis Patron makes a case for why bitcoin will end the nation state.

I know that all the leftists are dreaming about "ending the nation state" and a turn all of us to some rootless brainwashed mass what they can use and control. Thanks to God they failed every time when they tried and I don't think bitcoin will change this tendency. Bitcoin never ever will transform governments and central banks. Governments and banks going to tame bitcoin instead. The lack of political power is the price of being decentralized and distributed.

I do not see how any technology can change corrupt human behavior in such a way to end the Nation State.
My best definition for a Nation State is this, "a form of political organization in which a group of people who share the same history, traditions, or language live in a particular area under one government."

Bitcoin can improve The Nation State, but it will never End it. ^hmf^

Yes, financial sovereignty taken from the state and given back to the individual is absolutely the end of this model of national government as we know, it's the beginning of something else, something hopefully much more democratic than the polyglot oligarchy we've had lately.

This is true in the long run.   However,  don't underestimate how dangerous the state can be.  Especially when it is fledgling!   And don't underestimate how easily the masses can be influenced and weaponized against a cause.  It will get worse for us once they convince everyone isis is using it, or that is the cause behind a currency collapse, or that it's the cause of cybercrime.  This is why it  is paramount that we spread the good word of bitcoin before they declare war on it.

Bitcoin will end the coercive, corrupt nation state and crony capitalism.

Honest 'night watchman' states may survive, as they provide useful services for which there may be natural monopolies.

I can always appreciate a Legendary member making Legendary statements. I am probably a little biased, but I can agree to this completely.
This is the hope that I'll spend my young-life working towards, because the direction that the Nation State is taking humanity is wrong down to the fundamental core.

I am listening to this video while I post this reply, but I am in complete agreeance to this statement.

This is very hopeful for the future of humanity many many many years down the road, because decentralized and unified will further humanity to the fullest.
