Bitcoin is a currency and none of the currency depends on any other currency, but their strength is depended on its rate of adoption by the people and its regular circulation among the community. The more people accept it the more strength it adopt. So bitcoin is independent to altcoin or any othe crypto currency.

That is true that bitcoin is independent from altcoin and bitcoin alone I think can survive as long as there are supporters who used it. Bitcoin, the father of all crypo's is the standard in cryptocurrency. But an altcoin, from its name alternative coin, is really an alternative one.

Indeed,  bitcoin could  really stand alone  without  those alts  as you said   its the father  of all crypto and altcoin are  just dependent  in to  it, as you can see those altcoin could  only be exchanged  by bitcoin itself  these means  alts  are  just  alternative , the name  speaks  for itself. Same  as  you said.  Theres  nothing to worry  about  if  bitcoin   would be the  only  one   remains  without altcoins,as long  the adoption is there it wont die.
Yes, some years ago there were hardly a few altcoins like dogecoins and all. So yeah bitcoins alone can survive and sometimes I think would be indeed better because there are people who invest in shit coins and loose money then loose faith from BTC too Sad

Bitcoin is traded a lot against altcoins in many exchanges.
If suddenly that demand would vanish, we would have an over supply of bitcoins on the market and that would lead us to a drop in the bitcoin price.
Of course bitcoin could survive that scenario, since it pulls its strength out if the infrastructure built around bitcoin, but it would not be pleasent.

Good way to think, actually we can see a lot of daily traders, long term investors and for sure "all" this money have bitcoin in the middle.
How it affect bitcoin price?

Altcoins are an essential part of the Crypto ecosystem. But altcoins that exist today can't have any challenge for BTC. Bitcoin is the king of Crypto.
Other than just to scam bitcoin users with ICO of scam/shit/alt coins there are not much progress in altcoin field. The devs usually run away with all the funds invested leaving project in middle and with big promises. I still remember surprise shorting of 25% of vitalik ETH stock few months ago in the name of development funds.

division is something which is being cr3ated by the humans as because everyone has their own choises and it is not complesory to choose only bitcoin there aremany more like it and it depend on us to use which one.now if their is only one curremcy in the whole world then i yhink everyone has to think and demand like same which is quite impossible
But its not possible to have only coin right!  Bitcoin is the best among the all crypto currencies. I feel that we need competition for bitcoin like Doge or dash. By that we can prove that bitcoin is best among the all crytocurrencies.

I don't think other altcoins affected the price of bitcoin in anyway, even if the altcoin claims that they are some kind of improve "bitcoin" even on launch of ICO, bitcoin prices are not affected. Also other altcoins have failed to overtake bitcoin they can't even go near the price of bitcoin. But I guessed when all the altcoins are non-existent maybe Bitcoin price will go up as their will be no altcoin trading that will happen.

Because of the altcoin promoters online, more people have become aware of crypto-currency. Even if it's not directly bitcoin that they are promoting, it still affects bitcoin since it's the primary crypto-currency out there.

Yes, altcoins are far cheaper than bitcoins. It's because there's a huge difference between the amount of people that invest in bitcoins and people that invest in altcoins.

As for the price, there are altcoins out there that are really expensive and I think there might even some altcoins that have a higher price than bitcoin itself but all of them are dead coins. The price of the altcoin doesn't always symbolizes success. Sometimes they just put a high price on it.

Essential role in Crypto currencies is all depends on bitcoin only. I don't where is essential role for altcoins. Could you please explain that.

The role in Crypto currencies is in bitcoin only... but all other alternative currencies play a good role for traders as they help traders to earn more bitcoins using them... otherwise bitcoin can stay the same even without alt coins but alt coins will start dying if bitcoin starts dropping its price...

If Bitcoin has no rival like alt coins then the price of bitcoin must be very high today. The trade market will only have bitcoin and every countries flat money. Besides those alt coins are created to beat Bitcoin. But there are some alt coins that has a unique road map that inspires a lot of users to use the alt coin.

Whatever rate a alt coin may have but it would still not be compared to bitcoin i guess, because alt coins are mostly traded just to generate more bitcoins out of them and that is the reason why alt coins are getting so many users as well, just because of bitcoin.

Yeah I want to hear that too. This altcoins are just copies whichever side you look at it. It is here for creators to make profit of. The others who have successfully gained the trust of many are just here because they are gaining more.
But give those just one big problem and it will all break down.
Let us just leave alts to the definition to where we could make more money.

I will have to disagree on this one, If we speak about MAIDSAFE (being under development in the last 10 years - currently in ALPHA) for example , It's a revolutionary project that could surpass Bitcoin and It's definitely not made for creator to make profit as everyone is able to farm with the resources (Disk storage) they have and It can't get pre-mined or anything like that... I agree that most of Alts are cheap copies but some of them are legit.

Bitcoin don't need those altcoins because it was making its own way to succeed independently. Many people are joining the world of bitcoin because they want to have a lot of bitcoin. Altcoins are always dependent to Bitcoin and it can succeed without the bitcoin. Bitcoin is the source for everything.

Bitcoin were the inspiration for several altcoins some of them has just improved and has several things we do wanna bitcoin to has, but sure bitcoin is the king, but if it fail, some other altcoin will replace it, there is several money into bitcoin, and people dont wanna and will do almost anything to avoid bitcoin fail.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

Bitcoin wouldn't lose its value if all altcoins disappear at once. Also I don't think altcoins could somehow make harm to Bitcoin. They can coexist like they do now, but no altcoin will be ever of a greater value than Bitcoin.

Why bitcoin needs altcoins?

Actually bitcoin don't need any altcoins, the altcoins just use the blockchain(clone or just the idea)...

I think it's good because people can choose what coin to use, if they are loking for something more fast or more anonymous..

i think bitcoin is today at $700 and altcoins had an very important part on this. i have personally tested the deference in bitcoin and altcoin by trading both of them for a month and i ofcource got faster profits in altcoins but more stability in bitcoin
