Now, Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin Cash, rightfully so!

Roger Ver founded Bitcoin.com has finally made changes to its Webpage. Bitcoin Cash, which used to be shown as Bitcoin is now fixed and rightfully depicted as Bitcoin Cash. The change came amidst the lawsuit reports sought by Bitcoin users against Bitcoin.com and its CEO Roger Ver for defrauding the investors.

I knew this is exactly what he would do because he is misrepresenting the public on what he is sending out. What matters now is the case would either be withdrawn or the judge would throw it out because I don't see any further specific action needed from him. On the part of damages, there is no way it would be proven that anyone suffered direct loss as a result of his action and if he is awarded the damages, who are those that would share it. Its better they let it slide just ensure he signed an agreement not to change the site again to cause more confusion.

True, a dilemma for the new users who thought they are buying the real deal and then suddenly falls for a fake one. Grin

Now it should be cleaned up. But like you said, with the damages it will be hard to prove that you really want to buy bitcoin instead of bitcoin cash. I can say that and anyone can also.
He did get out of that but it should really stop now.
The issue is we may not hear about this for a while until someone goes to sell during a large price jump and they can't sell because they have Bitcoin cash and not Bitcoin but we're sold bitcoin.

I always thought it was a rip-off.
you can not base your currency on the hope that users are wrong to buy it.

Cashback 15%
This would happen sooner or later, and now the question is how much money does this prick made by doing this shamelessly? Even if they changed the webpage, it is already archived somewhere and the evidence is out there, so if these lawsuits gain traction and maintain its pace, we would likely see Roger behind bars or changing his ways for some time after saying sorry to those people he (indirectly) scammed. Honestly, though, I don't see this developing further specially these people can be bribed behind the scenes most likely, but I do hope this puts a lesson to Ver and co. for perpetrating such activity to mislead people.

Good to see, ridiculous the way they had it previously. I wouldn’t be surprised if hundreds, maybe thousands of clueless noobs bought BCH when they intended to buy the real bitcoin.

There is trouble abrewing
we need to treat people like Roger Ver exactly like themselves.
he starts a social media crap about bitcoin so should we. we need to start informing people how scammy bitcoin cash is and how the people behind it are trying to rip off newbies.
websites like bitcoin.com should be avoided at all costs.

This is just a fake news to calm down the bitcoin community. If you visit their website the name remains the same and if you read it, it is still bitcoin.com and nothing changes. If you doubt my opinion then feel free to visit their website and check it yourself if they really have changed the name. So here is the link,
https://www.bitcoin.com/

If you think Roger is going to let go of the bitcoin.com domain, then forget about it. That domain is most likely VERY expensive. Could cost probably 5 or 6 digits in USD. But hey, at least BCH is now listed as Bitcoin Cash not Bitcoin. Though BTC is still named as Bitcoin Core. At least it would make new people think twice though, instead of automatically going with BCH as it used to be named as "Bitcoin" only.

Lmfao. If they dropped it, does this mean that lawsuit actually had legal basis? I mean, they've been saying that for years, and they suddenly drop it now. They must have feared more people going on the lawsuit train.

This is good news either way. I have nothing against Bitcoin Cash as a project, but I always thought that was misleading.

let me guess. you think only america should own dollar.com.. oh and america should own dollar.au and dollar.ca all bcause you may feel only america should use the brand "dollar"

before rebutting with anything that resembles defending core and thinking bitcoin core deserve full and sole ownership of "bitcoin" ask yourself this
1. isnt handing bitcoin.com to one central group (core team) anti-decentralisation
2. replace the word "bitcoin core" with U.S dollar.. "bitcoin cash" with canadian dollar. and BITCOIN with "dollar"
then take a step back and run your argument through your mind.
imagine having that fiat argument about dollar and  america vs canada

P.S
try your hardest to not wear the U.S / core defensive cap when following point 2. instead wear a "bitcoin decentralised" cap

It's not the same thing...
For instance, if someone from Australia buys an item in America and wires the Australian dollars to America, these Australian dollars will be converted to US dollars by a central organisation (bank).

If you send BCH to a BTC address (or vice versa) your coins are gone!!!!
Also if you are selling AU dollars on the internet claiming they are US dollars you are going to get a lawsuit.

BTC is the real bitcoin > real decentralization, nodes, best development team etc. and for ALL PEOPLE.

BCH is a toy made by a couple of rich people.

Nice to see they got scared and will not manipulate the investors now. But what about those who already got fooled by this person, will he compensate for their loss ?

i doubt there is any loss, people who bought bitcoin cash paid under $1.5k a coin

imagine it like
customer: "i want an appple..."
merchant: "thats 50cents... hands customer a fruit"
customer: "i wanted an appple iphone not this apple fruit"
merchant: "well you only paid 50cents so your not going to get a iphone. but you can pay the remainder of 698.50 and exchange it for a full iphone"

EURO customer: "i want an dollar..."
merchant: "thats 0.61euro... hands customer a australian dollar"
customer: "i wanted an american dollar not this australian dollar"
merchant: "well you only paid 0.61euro so your not going to get an american dollar. but you can pay the remainder of 0.20euro and exchange it for an american dollar"

customer: "i want a bitcoin..."
merchant: "thats $1400... hands customer a bitcoin cash"
customer: "i wanted an bitcoin core not this bitcoin cash"
merchant: "well you only paid $1400 so your not going to get a iphone. but you can pay the remainder of $7600 and exchange it for a full bitcoin core coin"

Good they should be held accountable for what they did and this goes to show they were in the wrong. I hope somebody snatched a screenshot of what the website was like prior, pure misinformation.
