yeah, I think its good for us.

People awareness regarding bitcoin and its potential will increase
and also, since it is introduced in a comedy show, people will have a positive feedback over the material(bitcoin)

Big Bang theory is a world wide watched show and needs no introduction, a while back they featured a show in which they talked about bitcoins, not only did they explain it, they even played real life scenarios of so many people who mined early on but forgot or lost them.

We often speak about getting this on television, theatres and boys and girls we have made the big jump, as and when people will see bitcoins shall get more and more publicity.

What do you'll think will this show help bitcoins grow? My view yes I'm bullish on this.

Personally, any sort of introduction of bitcoin to the world will help spread awareness, especially in the television industry. I like this show and I'm glad that they dedicated an episode to bitcoin. I am definitely going to go find this episode to watch and if it is a fair representation of bitcoin then I will most certainly be sharing this episode with others.

I suppose it was one of the few mainstream appearances where its usage in the plot wasn't tied to criminal or subversive behaviour.  But that episode by itself probably isn't enough to incentivise many new participants.  Plus, it probably wasn't particularly beneficial for adoption to show how easy it can be to lose your coins if you aren't mindful of security or the risks involved with trusting other people.  But then they have to be seen to remain "impartial", I'd assume.  I doubt TV executives would allow them to show it in too positive a light while it's still largely misunderstood.

well i think it is not such a bad thing to not show it in a completely "positive light", because all those risks about losing bitcoin and regarding security, even the criminal stuff and the "negative light" are all a part of bitcoin an nobody can deny it. in the end it will come down to which part of it they are going to focus on and make bold and how much of the information they are going to give is FUD.

I was also able to watch that episode and funnily enough those skit that they did actually is the summary of what and how bitcoin is viewed by other people. THey mocked it at the beginning but when bitcoin was slowly and steadily going up the price ladder and the cryptocurrency market then people started to flock to it and trying to buy or mine and sell those that they have already mined. Only when thhat person gets the result would thyh be able to believe the greatness of bitcoin

I was able to see this episode, I think Bitcoins price  back then was already at around $3000, when they aired this episode. This is actually one way to promote Bitcoin. There is no FUD created on this episode. As far as I remember they are just in a comic book shop and the comic book shop owner needs money. then the guys remembered that they mined Bitcoin when it started.  I will stop there to avoid spoilers.

Anyway you will see that Bitcoin is getting popular as it was also mentioned on a TV series Z-nation. There is one episode where a city uses Bitcoin as their currency.

Looks like we should have taken the words from Sheldon Cooper in serious way but the comedy serial left us out of no where! Lolz! Nobody trusted it in the first isn't it. That explains we need to do the televisions marketing at proper channels and to be honest news channels are already doing this out of there own publicity stunt. I have seen many analyst speaking over the crypto currencies in CNBC but that doesn't really mean anything anyway. What happens in that process is people start to know that there exist the crypto world and no matter what they invest into it or not but they do go online and check that out. So may be it could work if it goes on the TV's.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages of it, the program is like a double-edged sword, if used well, you can promote bitcoin. However, reporting negative public opinion could cause people panic and the bitcoin price to fall.

It's one of those situations where popular culture is using bitcoin as it is something that people that watch it would probably already know about it. I can remember seeing a law and order that had bitcoin and the criminal aspects of it.

I think it helps bitcoin's growth but it can also help to create a bubble so we all don't want excessive growth at all. That would be good for early investors but mostly bad for public.

I am currently watching the show and I have not gotten to that episode yet and would want to see it which I hope it would be potryed in a good light compared to the shows I have seen talked about bitcoin. The last one I watched was the last parr of Major Crimes and bitcoin was mentioned and what it purported to make happen was out of it and made me feel sad about it make the rating I had for the show really dropped.

Those people who watch that show are already investing in bitcoins in my opinion. How much was it covered ? Did they stressed on the returns being given for bitcoins ? It can bring more women investors to bitcoins for sure as the TV series has got good number of female viewership.

By the way, it is one of my favorite shows and now that you have made me aware that the current season has started or is running, I will certainly wtahc future episodes. Can you also tell episode number in which bitcoin was mentioned ?
It is season 11 episode 9 and what I really enjoyed about it was that they didn't paint the industry as a bunch of drug dealers, pedo, and illegal terrorists. That was a bonus and I won't ruin the episode for you but they did a good job on showing how security is paramount too. Well done episode for sure, my outlook for people watching that show would be bullish as well. If not at the very least they will look into Bitcoin (which will in turn peak interest to invest and learn about Bitcoin more=win win Grin).

I remember seeing that episode a few months ago where Stuart ends up selling the Batman flash drive which had the private keys. The episode also tells the users about bitcoin mining and its value. It was a fun episode no doubt and did help in advertising bitcoin to the masses. Big Bang Theory is one of the top rated shows and bitcoin being featured in such a big show definitely helps.

Going to have to see it for myself I guess. I saw the Daily Show (hate it but my kids watch it) a few weeks ago talk about Bitcoin, but it was perhaps 10% serious, with the rest of it poking fun at how poorly the developers they spoke to seemed to be able to explain the tech (I believe it was Ethereum related) to the normal user - but probably all taken out of context for comedy.

I've a feeling this year we'll be surprised by a big budget Hollywood Bitcoin movie - probably more spy than drugs and paedophilia though. Maybe related to North Korea.

We cannot make some assumption that it will help or will just wreck some beliefs.
In fact, some may have thought of it like just one part of a joke. It is not easy to please all people around us. IF they dont want it then let them be, if they are really willing to learn then give them pointers.
That is all I believe in that can really help get more people be a part of this bitcoin technology.
