Bitcoins has created its own history over the years even till now. Bitcoins has become famous across the world however, there several areas that need to be touched as to have a wider acceptance of bitcoins across Nigeria. The economy situation in Nigeria has force every Nigerian youth to discovering the impact of bitcoins.

The religious leaders have also impacted the growth of bitcoins in Nigeria, as some believed bitcoins is demonic , not good for religious people, describing it as betting or Ponzi scheme.

Bitcoin is gradually going viral in our society and it's popularly known by the youths who are the next generation of the country which means that there's hope for bitcoin in Nigeria and sooner or later the cbn is going to be forced to lift the ban on Cryptocurrency when more youths who are Cryptocurrency enthusiasts teach their parents holding high ranking government offices or take up those office in near future.

It doesn't matter what those ignorant religious leaders teach or preach to their followers, the era of Cryptocurrency has come to stay and what will be must be, saying a Cryptocurrency is demonic is like saying money is not useful or shouldn't be used and bitcoin is a form of money and though it's not fully accepted by the everyday people due to ignorance, fear and government regulations but in the near future it would be widely known and adopted because it's an internet money and we all know how wide the internet is spreading in our country, both the illiterate and literates use the Internet and I believe that's same way bitcoin is going to be adopted soon.

The fight of the government against bitcoins in most cases is due to proper comprehension of the mechanism of the system. It become difficult for them to accept.
At a time I felt it was that but omo, no be so o. I git agree with you say, the old men way and women way dey lead us no really sabi but, behind these old men and women, them get people way dey give them advice, people way dey do their research for them, dey present to them the good, bad and ugly way dey for the systems and one thing way go dey of much concern to them be say, them go lose some of there power to control the finance of the people.
On this note, bitcoin no be watin them go like give chance. E cast!

Toh, me I just they see this one here, I neva hear anything about religious leaders talking about bitcoin in this country wey we dey like this, but ahbeg among the two religion wey they most in our country both Muslim and Christian which one among say bitcoin is not good religiously, I dey surprised as I see am for here because me I dey think say bitcoin no geh problem and or anything bad concerning our religions. The fact that I believe nothing bad in bitcoin transactions, investments or let me say everything wey concern bitcoin sha, so how person go con sit down tell us bitcoin is not good both Christian and Muslim, I don't know wetin they see sha, but I dis agree with that.

I know the current administration has not said anything about bitcoins. Only letting everyone know the gaps that need to be covered.

Although I don't know, and the only thing I heard about these current administration about bitcoin is that Mr president said the youth should wait for a news concerning bitcoin which means we haven't yet know the outcome that he will come with it. But I know bitcoin is ban by CBN that's the only thing I know, so for the past administration I thought they stated that they can not ban bitcoin or stop people from using it, but if anything happen  to people funds that is in btc account they don't have anything to do with that, so na only us fit control our funds there, na we go take care of it not the banks.

Dis na wetin you go get when people wey no dey a particular area for life dey give advice on that area. Wetin concern pastor with giving financial advise. No be God dem supposed to they preach about, why we go go hear wetin dem dey talk concerning wetin dem no know anything about. Sha we get two side to a coin because I dun see update of some churches accepting Bitcoin for tithe and offering so this particular matter no dey one sided. Make we no expect religious leaders to help spread the word about Bitcoin. The salvation wey God tell them to preach about dem never fit run am well finish without trying to scam someone of their riches all in the name say make dem sow seed.

Na government wey get major say about Bitcoin adoption because their behavior go determine how people go take understand say dem dey for or against am. Minus joke, Nigeria government no try, I understand say dem no put any ban for Bitcoin but d way dem dey keep quiet as negative news just dey spread around concerning Bitcoin no make sense. When CBN ban banks from interacting with Bitcoin why dem no specify say normal citizens dey allow and na so so side talk dem dey use spoil the image of Bitcoin. I think the responsibility dun come our hands na for we to dey try our best in the best way possible to they educate people as we dey come across them. We fit start from our workplace, school or anywhere wey we dey spend majority of our time.

Wow! I think this is my first time hearing that some religious leaders actually did talked about Bitcoin been demonic and not good for religious people, as never did i saw any pastor or a Muslim Imam making a news headline about such statement.
I read of a popular man of God who kicked against Bitcoin, calling it a rich man's tool used to oppress the poor. One thing is for certain, Bitcoin price is affected by investor sentiment so I think they are free to harbor whatever impression they have of it. One funny question to be answered is if Bitcoin is regarded as demonic, how about the shameless ways pastor's ask for money, quoting only the part of the scriptures that support their words, deceiving the gullible congregation, but not minding this as long as they get to live lavish lifestyles. Is that not to be considered demonic?

What ever they call it, bitcoin is proving them wrong. Bitcoin is completely transparent, but Ponzi scheme is not. But you are not completely right about religious leaders, because people are not thinking the same. People think about bitcoin differently and some religious leaders are learned and would have read about something very well before they see the thing as good or bad.

The fight of the government against bitcoins in most cases is due to proper comprehension of the mechanism of the system. It become difficult for them to accept.
But Nigeria government did not against bitcoin. Even in the recent Financial Bill, 10% capital gain tax has been included for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

In some countries that put some kind of restriction on cryptocurrencies, their central banks are the ones that is mostly against cryptocurrencies, just like Nigeria.

Many person have argued that, in Nigeria we have no problem with government barning Cryptocurrency. They forgot that government can also go a long way to stop  exchanges from allowing Nigerians trade.
But our government did not do anything like that. Our government did not ban cryptocurrencies.

If government ban bitcoin, the adoption will reduce in Nigeria, but some people will move to decentralized exchanges like Bisq .

If there is no voice in the council of decision making , we can expect anything. Bitcoins army in Nigeria, let's rise to our feet
Abegy no for Nigeria wey peso go d rise up for their feet for matter wey concern bitcoin. Nigeria no be country you go come out openly as a civilian to declare your support about bitcoin wey d government no go find ways to locate you or freeze your bank account. Em better as we take the anonymous the trade our bitcoin, and the create awareness of bitcoin give our society and friends. Any other thing apart from that, the majority of Nigerians no go follow because during the EndSARS protest wey see how the government take handled peaceful protesters.
Na better talk you just yan for here my sister @ Marykeller, because better matter such as to stand on our fit for bad governance, increment of minimum wage, poor electricity and bad road in the country and yet nobody don stand to their fit, na common Bitcoin na you want make we stand to our first. Lolz eh dey funny shah.. But secondly, I go like direct this to O.P say Nigerian government no been ban crypto, because you go fit remember wetin been happened during the "Twitter ban" nah, wey even to access am you no fit, but rather na CBN been restrict banks from executing Bitcoin/crypto related transactions, of which till today people are still buying and selling crypto using p2p platforms.

I never see or hear of any religious leader wey talk sae bitcoin na demonic give their congregation. Any pastor or imam wey go yarn like that, no d enlightened for this 21st century. He is way backward from the digital world wey we d so.

Nevertheless, Wetin I don hear some talk be sae, make them d careful when they wan invest in bitcoin because bitcoin to them d like Ponzi scheme wey dem go invest their money go disappear.

In the real sense, em no bam for any religious leader to begin give any investment advice to em congregation whether bitcoin na evil or a Ponzi scheme. People no come church or mosque for that kind gbedu. Wetin people come do na for them to hear the word of God and its salvation. So if they needed investment advice of bitcoin, they know where them go get am.

These our religious leaders needs to understand something, sae no be because them be religious leader, they go expect their gullible members to believe and accept everything wey d yarn. The world is advancing and the people in it are also doing the same. Perdon no need to d always follow the words of every religious leader because it can be deceptive at times.

Many person have argued that, in Nigeria we have no problem with government barning Cryptocurrency. They forgot that government can also go a long way to stop  exchanges from allowing Nigerians trade.
Government can only stop centralize exchanges from working in Nigeria but they cant stop the use of Bitcoin because Bitcoin is decentralized and you can't reviel its user identity.

The truth is that Bitcoin current biggest threat is the government and religion. The government are against Bitcoin because the believe it's a hard to regulate and control the system that's very true and also the religions are against Bitcoin because (1) they don't understand technology and never made room for it (2) is against some religious beliefs that they probably invented and created.
Exactly!
The government find Bitcoin as a big threat because of its decentralization, they have no way to control it that is why they are not willing to accept it.
While religious leaders are calm and don't want to talk about it because they don't also understand the entire system behind Bitcoin and therefore, they rather keep calm and watch how it goes.

Can you please share a link to support the claim that Religious leaders are warnings their congregation against acceptance of cryptocurrency/bitcoin because this is the first time I am hearing anything of such because bitcoin has widely been accepted in the Christian domination to the point of a bishop developing a coin recently even though their report that inventors of the said coin can't withdraw or make anything out of the investment after all, the coin is a shit coin.

So with people like bishop Sam zuga the CEO of Zuga coin who's cryptocurrency project gained popularity along side the cryptocurrencies market in Nigeria, I have not hard in any church where Bitcoin or any coin is call Dominic and I believe this statement is born out of your own assumptions.

I have heard about that in the past in many documentaries on different religious leaders view on the use of bitcoin. But what I saw from all that is that, there’s no exact rule guiding it as long as it can be owned, and use to trade in a transaction, then it could be treated as a currency used for buying and selling. Where some religious leaders have a negative notion towards it is being used for gambling purposes and fiat can also be used for that too.

With this new government we are into now, I don’t expect us to see a decline in bitcoin use but rather the government will enhance its use for the citizens. Before their elections during campaign, they made mention of putting the youths through blockchain technology, if that is actualized, bitcoin will gain more grounds in Nigeria and also Africa at large.

I what areas do you think need to be touch in Bitcoin, Bitcoin was not created to do bad but for good and unique. Bitcoin is the most simplest thing to understand. If government are not accepting the technology that doesn't mean Bitcoin will not be use in the world. Religious leaders see Bitcoin as bad thing not because it is a coin but it is because of what happened before before Bitcoin invention. MMM can to deceive the world and other Ponzi schemes so when Bitcoin came religious leaders see it as one of them.

If the government stop exchange what about p2p. We will use p2p. I will send Bitcoin to you and in return you send me naira.  We are not Bitcoin army Bitcoin is decentralized and nobody can do it anything.

Wow! But moreover, i'm not doubting the fact that some might not have said such privately in their various churches or mosque due to lack of knowledge about what is Bitcoin & how Bitcoin work, and might have mistook it for a Ponzi scheme or gambling, which in most case, it's okay base on their level of understanding. But as an educated person, what you do next matters the most, as it's not everything they tell you you ought to just accept it just like that without making the necessary research and findings, which I think is the mistake most people make.

Yes, it's true that government can go a long way to stopping exchange from operating in Nigeria, and likewise stopping crypto traders from doing their businesses which is mostly exchange centered base, but that doesn't mean that they can stop people from owing Bitcoin (i.e Buying & Selling) in Nigeria, because with the help of p2p market place, all those can be done conveniently, and likewise with the help of V.P.N which we were able to use to bypass the Twitter ban last time.
