Running Armory 0.96
Bitcoin Core version v0.16.1 (64-bit)
You're using an old version of Armory. It doesn't play nice with newer versions of Bitcoin Core (0.15+).

Get the latest version (0.96.4) here: https://github.com/goatpig/BitcoinArmory/releases

Note that the new website is: https://btcarmory.com

- Is your Armory showing "Connected" or "Node Offline"?
- What is the number of blocks that it is showing?
- Which versions of Armory and Bitcoin Core are you using?

Thanks for helping  Grin

Running Armory 0.96
Bitcoin Core version v0.16.1 (64-bit)

Armory Showing "connected" with 507830 blocks

Just created an account with blockchain and swept the private key and recovered the funds.

Not sure what armory was doing .. might try it again now it is all up and running.

I sent bitcoins from Coinbase to my Armory wallet, without allowing it to build and scan the databases. Now that I have fully synced Armory with Bitcoin Core, and transaction scanning has completed successfully, I still cannot find my bitcoins in my wallet.
Sounds like Armory has not properly synced. What exactly does it say in the bottom right corner of your Armory window? Does it say "Connected" in green or does it say "Offline" in red? What is the number of blocks displayed? Huh

So, I only have one wallet on Armory, called Primary Wallet. I did not use the Primary Wallet address, instead using the "Receive Bitcoins" option to the left. I have found that the address of "Receive Bitcoins" and the address of my "Primary Wallet" are different. I checked blockchain.info and it shows that the transaction between the "Receive Bitcoins" address has went through.
There is no "address of [your] 'Primary Wallet'"... your Primary wallet contains multiple addresses. Armory generates a new address every time you click the "Receive Bitcoins" option.  You can see ALL the address by clicking on "Wallet Properties", then click the ">" symbol next to the "Unused Addresses"... and then click the ">" symbol next to "P2PKH" etc...

Check that list and make sure the address you sent the coins to is displayed.

I am confused because it says on Armory that bitcoins sent to this address will show up in your Primary Wallet, so why is it not there?
Most likely a syncing issue. Armory has just not found the transaction as it has not connected to Bitcoin Core properly and received the correct information. Again, what does it say in the bottom right corner? Specifically, does it say "Node Offline" or "Connected"? and what is the number of blocks shown?

Is there a way to retrieve the bitcoins from the address I sent to Coinbase
Yes, definitely. If all else fails, you can manually export the private key from Armory (a fairly simple and quick process) and then import or sweep the private key into the wallet of your choice.

Seems like it has the same issue with this old thread: Missing Armory Addresses
Check it out, the link already points to the best reply.

What is your Armory's version?
Did you downloaded it from the official site: btcarmory.com? the other site might be outdated.
Lastly, you may need to move this to Alternative Clients > Armory to find real Armory users and developers.

I am not familiar with armory, but this may explain why armory doesn't show your balance.
Multiple wallets do check each address generated out of the seed one by one. They stop checking further addresses if they have found X addresses without a transaction history (called gap limit).
It may be possible that armory checked your first address, which turned out to have no history and then it stopped checking for further addresses, not showing your balance correctly.

In this case you still successfully received your coins and also can spend them with the corresponding private key / master seed.

I have found that the address of "Receive Bitcoins" and the address of my "Primary Wallet" are different.

This is because armory is a hierarchical deterministic wallet. This means they derive all keypairs from one seed.
Wallets do present a new address each time you want to receive a transaction for privacy reasons.

I checked blockchain.info and it shows that the transaction between the "Receive Bitcoins" address has went through.

This means you have received your btc. Everything went fine network-wise.

You can export the private key of the address which received the funds and export it into another wallet.
But where do you want to store your coins? If you want to store them offline(?) in armory this is not necessary, since they have successfully arrived in your wallet.

If you still want to export the private key: Open the wallet properties -> backup -> other backup options -> export key list

The first to check:

  • Does the address you have used to withdraw your coins to show up in armory?
  • Did the transaction already confirm ? You can check the status in a block explorer. (e.g. go to https://blockchain.info/ and enter the address or transaction id)

If the answer to both questions is yes, it most probably is a connection or display issue.
Which version are you running? Do you have the newest version of core and armory installed?

Is it possible that the bitcoins I sent are now lost in the ether and I have no way of regaining them?

If you have provided the correct address to coinbase, no. Bitcoins can't 'get lost'.
If the transaction has been confirmed (check on blockexplorer) these coins can be spend with the private key which belongs to the public key / address.
And if this address does show up under your armory as a receiving address, your wallet does hold the private keys.

As long as you have a backup of your master seed, you will always be able to regenerate the private keys which are needed to spend the btc from these addresses.

No. The coins should be there.

Are you sure that you send them to the right address? Go to "Addresses" -> "View Addresses Book" and try to find your address there. Then, search it in a block explorer like Blockchain.info to see if the address has any coins there.
