Fee per byte 123.044 sat/B
2.5 hrs with a 123 sats/byte fee... that's a bit rough... but the mempool seems to have exploded a little today... it popped up to 30K unconfirmed transactions earlier... It has been less than 10k most of this week...

Not much to say really, you got caught out by a sudden surge in transactions (and temporary fee increase)... it happens. At least you didn't have to wait 7 days like a few months ago Tongue

The other balance is sent to a change address. You know how getting change in real life works? It's basically like that. You still own the remainder.

Thanks. Any reason why there are no confirmations on this transaction even after an hour?

I just tried to transfer some of the bitcoin in my local computer to an exchange site. Something I've done in the past with no problem. I wanted to send 0.2 BTC, my balance in my local bitcoin-qt was about 0.45.

When I look at the transaction in bitcoint-qt, it says I sent 0.2 BTC + a transaction fee of 0.00027808 BTC.

However, when I look at the transaction here: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/cbc5a2e905944dd7e0f06e1600f29c979398825af200eb052bcb10095b316788/

It looks like it sent my entire balance (0.45059904 BTC) and broke it out into 2 txns, one for 0.2 BTC and another for 0.25032096 BTC to another wallet.

Bitcoin-qt is still showing that I have 0.25032096 BTC in my wallet.

What's going on Huh As far as I know, I have the latest version of bitcoin-qt (Bitcoin Core version v0.14.2.0-gfc61c83 (64-bit))

Additionally, I'm not seeing any confirmations come through on this either even after an hour. This is the first send I've done since the August 1 hard fork. Is there something I'm missing here?

Did I just lose 0.25 BTC?
