It's obvious that some people intention is to scam people, even in same community they belong, is very wrong that a user in the same forum operating in the same wing will scam a fellow user, that is evidence of bad altitude, in fact it deserved a triple red trust, many of them advertising selling of account of bitcointalk community and other numerous social media account are fake, I Wonder while people prefer buying account than growing account that will profit them and also expand their knowledge concerning cryptocurrency network, for me It seems like problem to buy account used by someone because I don't really know what the person committed with account if is positive or negative.

I was thinking sky is the limit, with a dash of naivety.

I didn't expect an honest hustle 5 years in the making to be thrawted by new rules. Watching the fallout of an unknown rule being broken was about as much fun as waiting 5 years to make a few dollars.

No, I'm not going to try to sell the accounts elsewhere. If yal frown upon on here, wouldn't it be frowned upon for me to sell them elsewhere?

Thanks for all the consideration here and maybe yal can have some sympathy on my account but frankly idc too much. Look at my activity, I'm hardly on this forum much these days but have been an honest member for 5+ years so do what yal think is best with such information.

It's good he edited the OP in that thread, but who knows if anyone made him an offer via PM or if he's going to try to sell those accounts via another channel, like telegram or something.  He was asking a lot for accounts that don't seem to have anything special about them, so I'm not sure what this dude was thinking.

Okay now I get it, so basically this Reddit karma is an Internet points that will help you become more prominent in the platform and like any other platform that has clout, you can use Reddit as a type of advertising for stuffs like almost anything
Yeah, but why anyone would pay what OP was asking for a Reddit account is beyond me--I think they're a shitty website anyway, and it's not like you're going to make your money back if you buy an older account with tons of karma points.

Hardly selling my soul for selling user accounts. It's a free market and if someone wants to pay for the accounts I don't see why I shouldn't sell them.

That said, I respect the rules of this forum (maybe admins could tell a user about new rules before punishing them? Maybe?) and have removed the post selling the accounts.

No, my account was not compromised and the reset passwords were done by me because I'm hardly ever on this forum.

I can't believe so much time and energy went into this silly confusion but bless you all for doing whatcha doing.

I knew websites were being to sell Bitcointalk accounts but I never knew users on Reddit were advertising them. Ah well, the problem with some people is if can make money quickly and almost effortlessly then they will be happy to sell their own soul therefore accounts on the forum are a small issue for them, they would have zero guilt when they see the crypto in their wallets.

I found this Full member account (Dazedconfused11) tempting to sell Bitcointalk, Reddit and social media accounts were probably hacked or compromised accounts and asking Ethereum as payment.  And also, this user most likely used in bumping ANN thread before based on the account seller's history.

Another case might, I presume there's no real accounts to be sold and might trying to scam users and those will take a risk would fall on this scammer's trap.

Am I getting it right?
They won't necessarily be more prominent when they get more karma as goal is to unlock access to some subredits and to remove some account restrictions but with the rest you are right; as with any other platform, it can be used (and is used) to advertise business.

But as i said before, it's tricky to advertise there as spam content is removed fast, and even if it stays, other users can downote. Since reddit is very popular, I guess they try anyway.

I understand the reason why they are selling the Bitcointalk account, but the Reddit account? I don't get how it is profitable for someone to buy the Reddit account since I don't see any means to make money in Reddit, I don't frequent in that message board so I don't know if there is one.
Because in order to post in more popular subreddits, your account has to have certain amount of post karma, and in some cases they even ask you that your account is aged etc. So if you want to advertise your business/scam in some of them, of course it will look much better if you are using seasoned account that has been around for quite some time.

In my opinion, those advertising crap on reddit and even buying an account to do so are wasting their time and money, because from my experience there, reddit is very strict when it comes to that and delete the content regularly.

At first glance I tried to read about the use of a reddit account, maybe, this is the reason many people want to buy a reddit account.

/snipped/
Does anyone know if these accounts are worth anything? Is there an equation out there that lets you know how much a Reddit account is worth based on its karma score? Does account age also factor? The accounts are only a couple of months old.
/snipped/

I've tried connecting all replies, namely:
1. Direct selling of a reddit account as well as replied strongly and clearly by kemarit, harizen, crepasta, Potato Chips and yours (You know also the price of a reddit posts and comments)
2. Bounty and advertising as replied by bittraffic, akuser, Potato Chips, bennguyen and Genamant.

I just want to add and re-arrange some replies.

Reddit is similar to other forum accounts that are worth based on:
  • karma score
  • age
  • subreddit member if the account moderate a big size subreddit (lot of member, similar to a group on other social media
Reddit account as other social media account shall be more worth if they are monetized especially by a mass marketing staff. With appropriate strategy, reddit will generate money.

Other reddit account worth beside above:
1. Direct goods/services selling
2. A place to search for information that is very diverse with a variety of subreddits filled by people who have specific interests according to their respective subreddits. The quality and popularity of an information can be seen from the number of upvotes in a post / comment. For example: https://www.analyticsvidhya.com/blog/2015/08/best-ever-data-science-discussions-reddit/.
3. Services business of Upvote, Downvote and increasing of a reddit account reputation e.g: https://www.soar.sh/reddit-marketing-services. 50 Upvotes ~= US$ 15 (Not recommended)
4. Creation of Bots for Upvote / Downvote / increasing of a reddit account reputation (Not recommended)
5. Providing reddit training especially on reddit marketing strategy by online or offline
6. etc

This as information for you and me too.
This is the first time I know its use, don't ask me in detail, because I don't use it.
Learn to ask yourself.

Based on his post history you will see that there was a change of posting habit. From 2018-2019 I can see that this account was used to promoted Valorem and CoinSchedule but during 2020-Present you will see that the user is now more actively posting rather than promoting as well as he have even joined a campaign meaning which just gives justification that the account has indeed have a change in ownership. Probably the account is done with the promotions he has done in the forum that is why he have sold it or someone hack it.

It seems that the sale of accounts was allowed for several years and it seems that for that user have several accounts there were not many restrictions to obtain a high rank, you need to post once every two weeks and you will get that rank.

Posting selling account topic using that account means either that he has a lot of accounts or that most of the accounts were since 2014 and were only active recently. Other accounts can easily be identified if someone has tracked accounts since 2014, which were recently published and the typewriter pattern changed.

I think the main account that post for account sale has been hacked or compromised. Otherwise, a full member wouldn't attempt account sales with activity only. I think he doesn't have a ranked account and that's why only mentioned activity rather than ranks. So I don't think anyone would attempt to buy these accounts at a high price just only with the activity which is worthless to me.

By the way, the account in question has been tagged, account sellers aren't to be trusted IMO.

He posted that from a full member account! So, either, he isn't really aware know that selling/buying accounts is highly frowned upon by the community here, or he has many other farmed/hacked accounts and he doesn't really care about losing this one. He probably chose to use it just to prove a point (I have many of them).

Either ways and with the amount of negative feedbacks this account will get, this is a 0.15 eth less for him.

Looks like hacked account to me so i am going to leave a negative. Password resets were so rampant in the month of May 2020 according to BPIP.org

Type 1 flag should be OK so that newbies and guests will be able to see the warnings on top of the thread.

... to sell Bitcointalk, Reddit and social media accounts were probably hacked or compromised accounts and asking Ethereum as payment.
Well, with my experience in the field, I believe all the accounts he sold were hacked and stolen accounts. Most accounts are inactive for a long time, although he mentioned they had some activity, i believe it was used by him to join the bounty campaign.
Another case might, I presume there's no real accounts to be sold and might trying to scam users and those will take a risk would fall on this scammer's trap.
It is also the case, but the rate is lower. If he just wants to scam, he can create a new account and post, but he used a Full member account. Wouldn't it be a waste to vandalize an account just because of uncertainty scam, right?

About leaving feedback in his account, I think it depends on your personal opinion. Since there are no rules that prohibit the sale of accounts, it just stops at discouraging levels.
18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
I think myself can be an example. I used to buy this account many years ago. Last year, many problems happened and I have admitted that. As a result, I got a negative feedback with the content: Bought account.
Account trading may not be prohibited, but it is discouraged and you have absolutely reason to leave a negative feedback. Furthermore, the origins of the accounts he sells are also questionable, it could have been stolen, meaning more people had been compromised. So you have one more solid reason to give negative feedback.

It's my objective point of view. But from the perspective of someone who has bought an account, I think I'm pretty wicked giving advice about negative feedback on his account.
Many people will hate me when I make this post
