Not starting the betting pool when it was originally planned probably worked in my favor, as the results we've seen from the bigger teams over the last few fixtures have been unexpected. Having said that I would still like to be part of something like this are we still planning to launch this?

For me we can establish a BTC amount regardless of its equivalent value in £.
0.003btc seems the right amount.
I wanted to propose to insert a small contest with bonus points: each user will predict the final standing of premier league (first 4 positions) and only those who guess exactly (the 4 teams in the correct order) will have a bonus of 50 or 100 points add to his final score.

Although, I like the idea of people competing and trying to guess the top 4. It's probably unfair to those who have accumulated points through the rounds. 50/100 points is a lot and could see a user leapfrog over multiple people because of it. I think guessing the scores/results is much more difficult than guessing the top 4.
It's worth the same as 1 correct score, that's not that much.

Yes, it is not easy to guess exactly the first four ranked teams! Except for Manchester City, 99% will win the Premier League, there are 5 teams (Chelsea, Manchestr United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal) for the other 3 positions.

I'm on with anything. Probably best to fix a rate close to the value on the day... marlboroza's suggestion of 0.0025 BTC sounds like the best. Even if Bitcoin drops a further 20% it'll be enough-ish. We shouldn't worry though, by the time the league's over, BTC will be at a new ATH
Mempool won't get any better than this too, so I'd rather make payments soonish, 151 sats/byte looks good enough for a 6-hour confirmation time right now.

It is a reasonable amount and I am pretty sure most seasoned gamblers here can afford this amount for this second round to begin.

Bitcoin has taken a bit of a hit the past few hours so should I still send the address out today or maybe give it a day or two to see what happens regarding the value? If it keeps falling the prize pot might not end up being much and might be unfair to people paying different values as we collect the money in.
I don't think bitcoin will go under $10K(or maybe it will? Who knows... 
). 20 GBP = 0.00237183BTC at the moment.
What do you think about collecting 0.0025btc from everyone? So everyone will send equal amount...of btc.

You could start sending out the payment address to everyone now, but include that if they don't want to pay today, due to the instability of Bitcoin right now they can wait until x deadline.
Otherwise, we could have the issue of sending the payment information out too late and some people not meeting the deadline. So in both instances the pot wouldn't be as big. As long as the information has been sent then it's up to the people involved whether they want to pay now, or closer to the deadline.

I think people are unnecessarily panicking like they always do but I could see it falling more during the day as people wake up and panic which will have a knock on effect, but hopefully it'll settle once the dust has cleared (but you never know with weak hands in bitcoin and I think there'll be a lot of newish investors who bought in with the rally in December who will panic and want out especially with all the "bubble" and "end of bitcoin" headlines that will pop up all over during today).

Hilarious, any news? When you will start collecting money from participants. We still have enough time until next round, but I don't think it would be good idea to delay wait until last day.
I'll start it for the next round. Been busy/lazy and there won't be enough time to get everyone signed up and sorted before the games on Saturday. I'll make sure to get it sorted for next week and very likely PM everyone on Tuesday so we've got the whole week to collect in funds.

I extended it to the next round of games as it wouldn't have left much time to collect the money in and get everyone signed up to the BBC predictor site. I will mostly likely send everyone a message tomorrow with payment details and the pool will then start on the Saturday so gives everyone a chance to get signed up.

I decided to start the pool on Round 20 instead and not the new years day games. I think it's going to be too much of a rush to collect all the money in and get everyone signed up to the BBC site and many people will be hungover or not on the forum new years eve/day so will miss predicting those games most likely. Also, if people sign up today or tomorrow they'll also be able to predict the City and Arsenal games which would mess things up if they did and give them an unfair advantage. So the Pool will officially start on Round 20 on the 13th of Jan. I will start collecting the money in on the 5th after the last game of Round 19 so that gives us plenty of time to get everything sorted for the Saturday games and hopefully get some more players involved.
I think in this way it’s better. It would be a rush like you said. I will try to find some other players asking my friends!

I would accept bitcoin cash as long as everyone else involved was ok with it. I want the pot in all one coin, but I would prefer to stick to bitcoin as annoying as the fees have become.

If I understood correctly when I read the first post, I will get 40 points if I predict the correct score and 10 if I predict which team will win. but if I join now would it be impossible for me to recover? I mean some players have hundreds of points and I will start from 0.
there will be a new pool betting, this will start in January and all players will start with 0 points, so everyone will have the same chance to win

Though I just see this for the first time but having a desire to participating in it and if given opportunities I will like to play this betting too. I have played betting when I was using betonmarket and 24option but have to close up because I lose money in it but now that I have a bit master panicking I can now risk some capital without mush fear of losing.

I hope that there will be at least 25/30 players to overcome the number of the forst pool betting.
Great idea a prize for the best weekly absolute score, so everyone can try to win until the end of the season, even if in the general standings it is out of the game!

I think I recall seeing this thread before, perhaps much earlier on V1. I see much more than 5 players already signing up, so I guess we can safely say that this is a confirmed thing. Please put me down for entry. Thank you! I am not a huge follower of the games, but I play fantasy leagues with my office mates also on a similar system where we all pay an entry. Not very sure how the system you use will look like but I think I can manage. Can I just ask what is the split of the 5 top players?

Hello. I would like to join this game, it seems very interesting with a lot of players! I have some bitcoin to the amount needed. What do I need to do?
Just wait. Save the bitcoin and we will start collecting the money in later this month so everybody pays roughly the same price due to fluctuations. I'll PM all proposed participants nearer the time.
I am very interested in being a part of this when it does launch and I can do a payment near the end of the month as you propose to start collecting it.

Not really sure what you're asking here, but no, it's not free to join. It's a gambling pool. I'm sure you can easily earn £20 by the end of the year from a signature campaign or in some other way. Feel free to create your own league on the BBC site though if you want to play for free/fun.

Since several users have expressed interest in joining the current bitcoin talk Premier League betting pool I have organised here we have decided to try open up a new one for any others that may want to join in but missed out on the action at the start of the season. This pool will be run in exactly the same way as the original one but will start officially on Round 22 of the Premier League games on the 1st of January 2018. This gives us about a month to drum up interest. To join the tournament it will be a flat fee of £20 in bitcoin which will be collected nearer the time due to fairness. The competition is similar to Skybet's SuperSix where you get 40 points for predicting the correct score and 10 for the correct outcome, but over all the games played that week. Points will be counted and tallied up throughout the season automatically via the BBC site and the person with the most points at the end of the league will win the pot. I will create a new league on the BBC's Premier League Predictor website and it will be separate but ran alongside the original.
What I'm wanting is for any players who are interested in joining to state so in this thread. If we can get 5+ players to pledge £20 in bitcoin interested before the end of the year then I will then create a new league.
Here is the current leader-board for the original and most seem to be enjoying it so far and there's a potential pot of of over 0.2 btc which will be split between the top five:
If you're willing to join and pledge £20 then please state so and we can get something up and running for all those who missed out on the original. I plan to do a tournament for every season so you'll all be able to join in the big league next year in the 2018/19 season.
