In the recent period of time, demand of bitcointalk accounts has been increased due to certain signature campaigns where buyers want to buy bitcointalk accounts by paying handsome amount of money. But i want to declare that bitcointalk is not an investment product. Yes most of the people including myself may be here to go to higher ranks and earn some money by signature campaigns as it is a part of sustainability. But buying a higher rank account would not help you as that specific campaign would not be here all the time. So dont waste your money where you dont want to contribute. You are deducting a higher rank account from this place. This place is like community not a mere business.
So kindly dont buy bitcointalk accounts if anyone offers you. It is all about earning through contributions.

The problem is not people who tries to buy an account.
The root of this cause are people who actually sell bitcointalk accounts. This portion of people is the fact that bitcointalk is destroyed and try to sell accounts, making it a market.
So if buyers dont sell accounts. People cannot sell the accounts and this all thing will stop.

yea thats a bit right. its not an investment. but its an alternate option to earn some cookies by writing. its a potential earning tool on another perspective. i think you see that too on google adw. some ppl giving ads on cryptomarkets with giving his own referral link. why are they doing that you think? absolutely a potential of earning.

Unfortunately the way that most older members act on this forum encourages it. There's so, so many threads which are so obviously just made as a merit grab. "List of all X's" (normally something to do with merit), some weird thread stating something that's obvious to everyone already, etc, and bonus points if they can come up with an excuse to update it regularly. These then get flooded with merit...perhaps partially due to the fact that a lot of people have trouble getting rid of all their sMerit right now, so posts that aren't amazing get a lot regardless.
You're not wrong... the number of "stats" threads which have received insane amounts of merit is quite staggering...

And then there is all the fairly obvious [TIP], [GUIDE], [WARNING] threads being posted in "Beginners & Help". There are only about 3 or 4 posts on the first B&H page that are actual questions from Beginners seeking help... everything else is people bombarding newbies with "help" hoping to get merits Undecided

These kind of posts just reek of merit-grabbing opportunities.

We get it, people buy accounts to join sig campaigns. But that's up to them and we don't go telling them they're not for investments.

For the above post I don't think he deserved it, but it's your merit to give.  If we were all the same, it'd be a damn boring world.
The goal for me is to give him an incentive to improve his contribution in the forum with real contribution not making some poor post like this. I know most of the times it does not work but that does not mean we do not try it. I gave him a try and possibly few months after we will know if my attempt was wrong or right.

Yeah, all are not the same and this is why this community is interesting :-D

OP, you haven't said anything new. Same shit with account sales is going on here forvyears. And demand for high rank accounts always been big, especially after release of merit system.
As I understand, with this post you're targeting people who try to buy account to join Cryptotalk campaign. But ehen this campaign will end, these people will have chance to try joining other campaigns (if they aren't complete shitposters).
I don't know how much exactly Bitcointalk accounts costs, but I believe it's not difficult to reach ROI with signature campaign.

To be perfectly honest, I don't care what people have been doing with their accounts. If there's demand for it, it can have market value. Beyond that, it's very hard to regulate what happens behind closed doors.

Forum mods should be impartial enforcing the rules on a case by case basis but trying to preach that bitcointalk is not an investment is something that many people would just not listen to. It's hard to enforce so to me just banning spammers is enough. I wouldn't want the mods of the website to be preoccupied with account transfers, going paranoid about such activity. Hunting spam is already a colossal task.

I have seen some similar "insight" from the Altcoin Discussion board in which people discuss accounts, nonpaying bounties, and other fringe aspects of Bitcointalk.

It's good that you outline job security in a campaign, or rather the lack thereof. Something you missed was that if an account has a mismatch between its rank and its quality of content, it's likely that they will not be accepted in any non-alt campaign, and moreover in the case where they spam (which is often) they may incur bans, temporary or not.

Mm hm, that's what I figured.  And since that's true, I'm sure you're well aware of how valuable merits are and that you need them in order to rank up and thus earn more money.  So that's why I think you made this thread, which you probably know reflects an opinion held by many senior members and merit sources who might give you some merits because they think you really believe what you wrote.

I'm cynical, however, and I'm not buying it even though I completely agree with the words you typed.

Very poor attempt but I get it. You should be a member now.

Good luck.

You're message is so touching, it gave me that contradictory feeling of delight and emotion at the same time, which I normally only associate with Christmas.

Next time, could you please be so kind and post your messages directly in the "Wall of fame/shame" thread, thus sparing the community's time and energy of having to copypaste it.
