I believe it also depends much on the kind of connection we have. I have noticed a lot of speed improvement when I upgraded my Internet from ADSL to fiber optics.

Even earlier anyway, I found the site to be fast and only very occasionally it was slow.

Its not like that to me yet now if its slow there may be the traffic load due to increased activity or interest or the admin may be maintaining or upgrading the server. It may create the problem to post per day.

I sometimes experience this, but not very often though. I can only surmise that it's under heavy traffic load caused by increased activity and interest?

It's fine for now . I can access without errors and slow speed.

Duh, this OP was written in October (2 MONTHS AGO) so clearly, everything has changed today. Why did you post this kind of reply here?

The truth sometimes I get excited commenting, when I have free time and I want to devote to reading first and then commenting on what I like, I must wait ... maybe I'm something new but just as desperate

Yes. I also have this kind of problem. Sometimes pages can't be opened or missing.
Especially today. It's really slow. I think this might be because of server problems or DDOS.
I hope make sure the data safe.

I was wondering the same thing. The Busy, try again (504), is what brought me here lol.
I was honestly thinking its my isp having issues. Good to know im not the only one.
But i been having these issues since a few weeks ago, every couple of days the server seem to be overloaded or slowed down. Sometimes i post and i get the bloody. Im actually feeling paranoid now, that i need to actually copy my post incase bitcointalk server crashs or gives me an error.
Anyone know if this problem will be fixed soon?

I get the impression that it is fixed right now. Already on here for more than 30 minutes and everything is going smoothly without any errors.

Woke up this morning, and bitcoin was right at $6000.

Thus forum is always super slow any time the price spikes.  Every time.  Probably the servers being overloaded by all the new accounts looking to shitpost, or it's people who just want to read about bitcoin.  We'll get back to normal within a day, and probably less than that.

Same here. I totally agree with that.

Maybe the owner should do some maths to see if it is worth increase capacity because if some predictions are right and this keeps going up fast, we are going to reach ATHs pretty often and to have the server like this means a loss of income.

Looks like everything is fine now, I'm able to open pages without error or timeout message but it is still pretty slow comparative to what type service we always get from this forum. Hope, it won't start lagging again because it makes me angry.

And the problem started again, unable to post this post.

It has been all day like this, it is most likely DDOS atack.
Have you noticed... every time we are about to break some Bitcoin record price... this forum slow down to a snail pace. I

think everyone signs in to check what is driving this spike and to talk about the Moon.  Cool .... OR the competitors are jealous

and they want to divert the attention away from Bitcointalk or talks about Bitcoin and launch DoSS attacks against the forum.
Funny but last couple of times it really happened when bitcoin price jumped.
Maybe it is just coincidence but probably not.

Damn we are almost $6000 now and I'm sure this attack came from someone who are really jealous about bitcoin breaking new grounds again. Your guess who is attacking is a good as mine.  Grin. Just sad to see people attacking our friendly forum. Another assumption I can make is that there are really a lot of people trying to get it and celebrate this new ATH and get the sentiments of the forum. Or maybe FUD's wants to create another panic here. They can't really stop people from buying bitcoin, that only thing they can really so is to DDoS us.

Hackers wants to exploit this site. So they can sabotage and modify ICO details and gain from hacking individual accounts. BTCTalk is like an open golden pot. Hackers usually sent DOS attacks to weaken the site's security.

bitcointalk is slow in my opinion as most bitcointalk access and exceeds bitcointalk server capacity, wait a few minutes later to get into bitcointalk, that's what I do if bitcointalk is slow.

So, is Bitcointalk having any issues for just me, or is it everyone?  Every time I try to post/refresh I usually get a cannot connect page and then it takes me forever to get back in.

I have a pretty good ping to the website, and my DL speed isn't that great at the moment(5mb) but still shouldn't be this bad.
Same here. I am using mobile phone and it keeps on saying fatal error the server is overloaded. Maybe admin is making server maintenance this time. My only concern is if I can't reach the minimum posts on my campaign I may not get paid since there is also power outage here in my area due to typhoon but maintenance is needed for the good of the forum and also for us so it is okay. Hope it will be back soon. Let's just wait for it for a little while. It could also be a DDOS attack but I am not a security expert to discuss with it.

This appeared frequently on my browser;
Busy, try again (504)

The server seems to be overloaded right now. Please try again in a little while.

If you are getting this error while trying to post something, press the reload/refresh button in your browser and accept the browser warning. Keep doing this until you get a non-error page, at which point your post will be made. Leave at least a few seconds between each attempt.

It is normal for this error to occur every once in a while. There is generally no need to report it. However, if you get this error so often that it becomes especially disruptive, post to the Meta section of the forum about it.

Yes, it happens for me as well. Many times I get "bad request" or "internal server error". I thought it could be because of increased traffic but that doesn't seem to be the case. Hopefully, will get resolved soon.

maybe the admin is doing server maintenance, or update the server because a lot of posts and many who access bitcointalk .. I was trying to login and only now can access the forum
