It looks funny when the forum creates its own token. But I'm sure that the token can grow in price, because the project has a large number of users from around the world and the price of the token will grow with the number of new users!

Seems like a scam. Forum staff or admin should clarify and delete such thread if it's a fake airdrop. Please report such spamy post to moderator.

I think it's a real token in the technical sense, but the creators made it clear that they just did it for fun and to show how easy it is to create an ETH based token. They also made it clear that they are in no way affiliated with BitcoinTalk moderators. I try to avoid ETH tokens as much as possible so won't participate, but I'm pretty sure if you followed their instructions, you would receive the tokens. They wouldn't be worth anything, but you'd have a lot of them.

I think If such a token appeared, the moderators would put this news in the header of the site (this is clearly a scam)  Smiley
p.s. and maybe you should create such a token?  Cheesy

I think it's not scam, it's the way the company use to increase investor's awareness of this coin.

I don't know about this particular coin. I'll have to check the link to the ANN.

As a concept, though, I like it. I think it would make perfect sense for there to be a blockchain token that is somehow related to activity here on this forum. I'd love to award merit by sending someone an actual coin. A forum coin would actually have plenty of real world applications. I will definitely check it out.

Look like this token isn't even announced here on bitcointalk or any other community. If bitcointalk were to make a token it would most likely be everywhere here in the forum with multiple topics a day about it. So yeah, 99.9% chance that it's a scam.

Airdrops are sometimes waste of time but if you found a good one then it is worth it. Joining airdrops only takes few minutes of your time and most important that you do not send your private key to any registration form. Speaking of bitcointalk token, just give it a try maybe it has a value that you'll regret after seeing it being pumped.

I have seen airdrop on telegram for bitcointalk token "BTALK token" it's  true or scam?  What did you think guys??

I also saw the airdrop bitcointalk token that I lost it if it was legit. At the present time many of the airdrop tokens are hard to trust but sometimes it is ultimately to blame if it is legit or not. But if you are not lover airdrop flatform just avoid it to secure your information they all know about the airdrop if you join the airdrop you gave your infornation much better follow your hearth if you have more funds especially..

Never heard it before, i try to search some information in google and found nothing. No website, no full information, no ann thread. Looks like scam Undecided, better avoid it.
Also, this should be on altcoin discussion instead of bitcoin discussion, IMO.

There are many people that interested on that coin.  And also say real airdrop.  By the way thanks for the information.
Check this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/we-created-the-bitcointalk-token-for-fun-3205953
Based on that thread, the token is worthless because he created it just for fun, as he said on his topic
Like 99% other ICOs, BTALK has also no use and no value...
But yeah, the airdrop is real.

Edit some typo.

I tried to look for information, and found little useful. Looks like a scam. But if it's not a scam, the benefit of the token is not clear. It is better to develop the topic with merit and make a separate token out of it.
