Hello,
i really do not understand why bitcointalk user with long existence on the forum (e.g: more than 3 years), are not been given automaticaly a higher grade within the forum ?
Cause they have been part of this community for severals years already...even if they have not been posting actively...a junior grade member would be welcome...

Don't you just love the idea? Compare their activity to your activity in this forum. You are posting and sharing your ideas, joins discussion and starts or open good threads with great topics while the other just create an account and leave it as is after 14 days forum will automatically grant both activity points and merits. You think it would be fair to you? Its a great concept, you get rewarded based on your activity.

Why should they automatically get a higher rank when they haven't even been active? Isn't the date registered enough for that? Not much point in giving something out merely for date registered or all these old hacked newbie accounts with only a few posts would be Legendary (or whatever). That's why the current activity system is a good indicator because if you haven't been actually active here date registered means little.
Agreed. They should actually be ashamed. They have been members for years but haven't acquired higher positions because of their inactivity. Members who are active, give quality posts, given merits even if their accounts are months old should be given higher ranks. It also means that they are not really serious or they are not into this forum.

I think if you're part of a forum. You should make some contribution to the forum. Don't think so much about the others. You're going to do it yourself. Don't care about other people's accounts.

That would encourage people to create 1000s of new accounts just for the sake of creating accounts.

You and a lot of others here are lazy and feel entitled to shit you don't deserve.   Hilariousandco is absolutely right.  You need to actually contribute something to rank up.  That's the way it is and the way it should be.

Why should they given the privilege? They are not helping anyone or contributing in anything so the account not deserved to rank up, if OP rules applied, there will be a lot of farmed account being created everyday and they will just left it to rank up, so I am sorry but it is a stupid idea

Well explained.
At the first place rules are made for the synchronization of everything in the forum.
The activities and being active will determine and will be the one to permit rank up. And with the help of mods spammers, scammers and other criminals are handled manually.

People who farmed dozens of accounts in the early days could sell multiple Legendary accounts & make a lot of money for doing very little to deserve it.

Sorry OP but I think it’s a stupid idea. You just need to be active to rank up, only way sorry.
