I think those websites are not very reliable. 1.6mi looks very low imo for such a big forum.
I don't think it's low. It's only the visitors that have come to the forum during one month, the month of August. Let's not forget that July and August are two months where most people go on holiday. In other months, we may have up to 5% more visits maybe. Either way, I think those are respectable numbers, but still numbers that were certainly significantly higher in the past.

A SEMrush free account provides some basic information. For more in-depth info, you will have to use a paid/pro account, and those are expensive unless you get a shared one.

Traffic analysis using SEMrush for August 2024 shows the following:

Visits: 1.6 million. Up by 37.4k (2.4%) compared to July.
Unique Visitors: 573.8k. Down by 4.48% compared to July.

There are a few other metrics there of less importance.

Ideally, theymos could share cloudflare stats and post it somewhere... this would be the best source of information.

Looking forward to some information.
I believe this thread will draw the attention of the admin to release the monthly traffic statistics of the active members, but if it's not necessary for him to release it now, you shouldn't let it to bother you, maybe he is busy.

I think the best bet would be a DNS based tool.   That will give you exact traffic numbers, but obviously will not tell you where that traffic went.
Theymos gave everything to cloudflare.

I'm far from a cloudflare expert, but I did study the OSI model in depth.  Each individual ISP's DNS cache still has to receive your request to know to send it to cloudflare for DNS - that's what the nameservers are for.

Obviously these DNS servers number in the millions, but I'm sure Cisco or some other popular hardware provider could offer a centralized service.

You cannot view the forum traffic using the cloudflare DNS or hear any DNS-based tool that can give you information about the forum traffic unless you are invited by the admin and have been granted access to cloudflare statistics(All traffic).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

Last update was 10. April. 2013 sadly. Send a PM to the admin for the updated statistics. Your best bet.

I just checked and found that two sections from that page, General Statistics and Forum History (using forum time offset), have outdated information. However, the remaining 3 sections are showing the current statistics. For example, if you look at the Top 10 Posters section, it says LoyceV has 28,154 posts (by the time I'm writing this post) which is accurate if you look at his profile.

I believe the sections showing current statistics are updated automatically, so there must be a way for the General Statistics to become automated as well so that it keeps getting updated once every 24 hours. It's interesting information, and it also lets us know how the forum is doing, whether there is growth or the activity is dropping day by day.

Perhaps, @PowerGlove with the help of @theymos might be able to do something about it. I would also love to see that information updated more often.

Another option is this one

app.neilpatel.com/en/traffic_analyzer/Bitcointalk

This is just a glimpse you need to upgrade to see the traffic data way back and a forecast of traffic in the future

With this stat, Bitcointalk authority is great and powerful; it can rank on any given keywords

Note : Semrush offers different stats on visit because Neil Pattel focused more on organic traffic, which is traffic coming from unpaid sources like Google, Yahoo and Bing The stat is higher if you combine all traffic because some sites links to Bitcointalk directly.

For more traffic stats g00gle analytics probably has more information than theymos  Tongue

Is this sarcasm or you are genuinely funny? Roll Eyes I do not know how Google will have more information about the traffic than the admin of the forum. Google Analytics is only a good source for the admin and not the general public and if you do not want the government to know more about the forum then I think the forum should stay away from Google and its tools.

You can use BPIP website to find stats for most active forum members, but you need to combine this with something else, maybe with most posts to get more precise information.
Ninjastic.space website could also be used for this in combination with information from bitcointalk stats page:
https://bpip.org/Report?r=mostactivity
https://bpip.org/Report?r=mostposts

Does anyone here have information for Bitcointalk active members and traffic statistics? similarweb and other free tools do not look reliable source for information. Maybe theymos can drop us a monthly traffic statistic information where we will be able to learn and compare how many active members we have for the month, how many monthly visitors we receive etc?

Looking forward to some information.

I am also curious to know how many daily visits this forum has. I understand that most of the regular visitors are registered forum members. But I could be wrong because it is one of the oldest crypto forum online and there are thousands of resources available and people even come from search engines. Whoever is working in marketing things like managing campaigns, I guess it is important for them to know these stats and I guess that is the reason OP created this thread. If the forum has a huge number of visitors, it help them to deal with the client showing how big the market could be.

About who is active/online why not check this one https://bitcointalk.org/SSI.php?ssi_function=whosOnline
This page can work in the past but now, it does not give you too good information because many users customize their account profile settings, to hide their active status. No exact last active time, but only displays as Recently.

I believe now the page is affected by this setting.

Small improvement regarding activity / "Show others your online status"

Have you tried ahrefs alternative for similarweb?
website traffic checker from ahrefs is free but limited only for keywords and country specific.

You can also try this one https://www.semrush.com/website/ I sometimes use this to check a website's monthly visitors the only problem is its a month delay.
The free won't give us real traffic it's just an estimation I don't think admin will share traffic stats from their own analytic.

Does not help, you can not make an idea of the overall forum visits per month.
Yes, you can only assume the down and up of impressions and logged in/out users in that page.

For the record there's no information stat for web traffics here unless theymos made out of it, but i'm sure it does take much resources that's why stats is stop thus out dated (some of them).

Analytic sites like similarweb and GA are just estimates and not accurate, most of these can be blocked by ad blockers as well as built-in browser ad blockers knowing there are lot of them using here, unless theymos made a new stat for it. :-/

Aside from ninjastic.space for other forum stats, web traffics like visits and views per page for logged in and log out users, etc. are not available. The only available traffic stat i can only see here is the ad stat https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats
Idk why there are still stats on this til september on how it measures the impressions, etc. when there's no already ads but it looks like it's still working and maybe somewhat accurate.
