Same way is using glow code for text.
Just put "Spoiler" tag and highlight the blacken text.
Code:
[glow=black,2,300]hidden hidden hidden hidden hidden hidden[/glow]

Spoiler:
hidden hidden hidden hidden hidden hidden

I saw that but this is not the same “spoiler” tag as OP is talking about.

He wants to collapse a lot of text inside a small “spoiler” tag. When you click it, it shows up. This is helpful on thread where there are a lot of small sections.

By using the glow tag to make everything black, there will still be huge blocks of (black) text in the thread. The point is to organize it better and improve the readability.

There have been suggestions for both spoilers and collapsable quotes and I think they'd be both useful additions.
I am not very aware of this, although I understand that it will be more difficult than just “add”. But the implementation of this tag can certainly be done using PHP tools. Even it would be possible to close eyes if the text of the heading could not be formatted in accordance with the preferences of the user.

Although it would not hurt to add the ability to replace the text to the left of [spoiler] (editing or inserting a small graphic / symbol, which would also open the spoiler). Whatever it is, the information should be hidden before clicking and open when pressed again.

I think this goes with any feature/changes for now. Even the small features/changes that could potentially improve the forum in general isn't being added(as far as I know). Looks like all focus is on the EpochTalk forum. Hope it doesn't take more years for us to migrate to that software though.

That would be cool, but people have been asking for this since 2014/2015 and theymos never implemented it. Just google “bitcointalk spoiler tag” and you’ll see.

Good day, dear forum users and theymos. Join the discussion on proposals to improve the usability of bitcointalk.

1. Choice Voting and Publicity

Currently, during public voting, users can only make one choice, known as "bullet voting", which is not very convenient for some counting scenarios.

  • Proposal: To enable users to give preference to any number of items or candidates during voting.
  • Poll Options: Public, Identification of users participating in the survey, (As below).

2. New tag for editorial panel bbcode:

  • Additions to the standard parameters of the publication. I noticed that the [spoiler] tag is not working, so it would be great if a button appeared that opened or hid text between [spoiler] and [/spoiler].

  • Example: Write tag [spoiler][/spoiler][/b] and it will hide the content on anywhere that you can render bbcodes.

Quote
Code:
[spoiler=Spoiler][img]https://i.imgur.com/jVUIVqP.png[/img][/spoiler]

  • Readability: Reading a massive message causes irritation (attention is scattered). Thanks to this tag, the readability of the text will improve many times, and the user will be able to clearly and compactly convey the essence of the post (for example, image, proofs).

Recently, theymos brought enough arguments about this, so I think that this year we will definitely not see the new software.
