@Odogwu-Blockchain you don't have to go further bitcointalk.com is a dangerous site,if you click the hidden link in my thread you can as well show yourself how the login page of the fake site looks like but I'll advise you not to click it.The sign up/in was disabled maybe due to poor internet connection or it could be your browser, like I said you shouldn't go further, the homepage is quite okay for you to go through.Just incase you want to go through the sign up/in page click the hamburger menu in the homepage there you'll see it.

Looking at the two login pages of these sites is quite different, different interface, different designs. If bitcointalk.com login page looks similar with bitcointalk.org then it would have been easier for hackers to penetrate in. The major work of hackers is to create a cloned login page of bitcointalk.org, so if a user is inputting their login credentials, it would be accessed by hackers on their control panel, there they can do whatever they want with your credentials, that's why it's best to always look out the url when loading a site to escape been scammed.

Most site created before or after Satoshi created the Bitcointalk forum were not fake as we think. Those site were probably made to mimic what Bitcointalk have and not scam or perpetuate the whole idea of a community based platform.

Bitcoingraden.com and Altcointalks.com is another forum which have slight similar interface like the Bitcointalk forum and its no scam.

There are other similar platform, and we cant completely write them off they the intentions is to hack bitcointalk users account. Anyway if don't have anything worth going over there to do i would suggest we should avoid visiting any of these site. The reason is because they don't have any proper moderation and strong reputation compared to the Bitcointalk forum. Also there is nothing you are looking for there and more that you cant find in the Bitcointalk forum.

I started visisiting the altcointalk because of the movement of mixers over there.

This na just big bait as OP talk to take lure newbies for the crypto space to steal from their resources on their device if at all their main purpose is to imitate this bitcoin talk forum and attract more people to their own site. This space tough and e dey more sour to people wey no dey research before them take action on top anything. E better as you bring this thing comot for here for our local members for here wey be newbies to take benefit from am and be more careful of links wey them go dey click around.

For instance I log and open an account on Bitcointalk. ABC for example how can hackers use that to get Bitcointalk. org account? When I didn't have an account on the later. OP I am confused about the message you are trying to pass.

Your Bitcointalkorg account can get hacked if you are careless like clicking on phishing links, joining projects from this forum using your Bitcointalkorg login details. Generally being careless can put your account at risk to hack no by registering on the wrong forum.

Hackers can only get your password if the login page of the fake bitcointalk.com is exactly the same with Bitcointalk.org, but OP didn't show us how the login page of the fake site is. Also, when I clicked on the fake one, they only show the home page but disabled the sign up/in page., maybe because of my browser. If anyone can show us how the login page of the fake bitcointalk.com is, that would be great, let's see how we can protect ourselves.

For me basically, I don't see anything to merit this thread but unfortunately, he gained 2 merits from the confusion he created as a thread without any viable information and way forward for readers here, this is not worth creating a discussion thread on because for sure hackers have several ways that their get at their victims, but the most important thing to do is to stay ahead of them in every way possible so that they won't get the information to use against you, the best way to stay off their radar is to Make sure that you don't log into your Bitcointalk account as frequently as possible and also have the second level of security verification such as the new forum feature that demands authentication code for logging into forum account.

So as cryptocurrency enthusiasts, as you fight to build your portfolio you should also keep learning about the security of both your Bitcoin holdings and your Internet presence to avoid stories that touch, so such as incidents of hacks because I can't imagine how one will feel losing a forum account to a hacker, it's it's to be a hard nut to tite or a bitter pills to swallow so better to always protect ourselves from any possible such feelings.

No be lie u don talk legitimately. Those scamming sites dey like disguise their domain to imitate the real sites so that if newbies com across dem, just go get lost because the name almost look like the real sites domain.
Sometimes e dey be just one alphabet, number or symbol way dey differentiate dem so who no take eyes down no go catch up the trick and before u know dem don sneak into ur privacy and get ride of your account.

I dey create this thread for members of this forum wey feel say every Bitcointalk forum na legit, most especially the newbies. When dem tok say Bitcoin hack dey vast, hackers no exempt bitcointalk.org accounts, the reason why most members for dis forum don lose their account na because say dem go log in and create account for another fake Bitcointalk forum.I no go too blame newbies because dem no know the origin of bitcointalk.org,
Any user on this forum wey don grow to the rank of a Member (i.e at least 10 merits) is ought to have been familiar with the interface of this forum, and likewise when they encounter a different interface from the original despite the slight difference in the URL. But however, its nice as you O.P were able to create this thread as an avenue to enlighten newbies to be security conscious and know that other similar forum such as Bitcointalk exist.  However, one strategy I have always use on my device is by creating a shortcuts of my most visited URL on my home screen for easy access, whereby it saves you the stress of logging into your browser and inputting the site URL before browsing.

If you are using Chrome, Brave or any other browsers, you can tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner and click on "Add to home screen" as shown below 👇.

Probably possible. I have mistakenly typed .com before instead of org. But the website having different user interface. One of the ways people's account are hacked can be through the link in the PM the hacker sent to them. The link has login page which is similar or the same with this forum login page. The user will think his account has been logged out and he would want to login using his username and password, not knowing it is a different website that is controlled by the hacker. Any information he provided there would be known to the hacker and be used to compromised his bitcointalk.org account.

Na who phishing link never do something, go think say him too smart or all the stories him Dey hear about phishing links na whining.
I personally don suffer major lose because of phishing link and na why I Dey do all my best to make sure say I Dey extremely careful while dealing with people and things on World Wide Web.
Na true be dis thing wey you yarn here so, though me neva fall victim to it. I hope I don't anyway. My pattern wey I dey use to protect myself be sey I nor dey click on random links. And if persin (trusted persin of course) dey direct me to a site I dey always tell dem to share d link instead of me searching for the site by myself. Again, if they're on SM and dem preach about something wey I like but no share d link, I nor go bother myself pursuing it further. It's either dem share am or e dey dem profile for me to even try d site. The third wan be, before I download any app I dey make sure to read "critical" reviews on it. Forget the sweet and good reviews on it. Na d critical reviews matta for me.

The information I passed is very clear, just like I said in my thread,Bitcointalkers should be aware and beware of fake Bitcoin forums.Any user's account can be hacked through a fake Bitcoin forum, many users most especially the newbies have lost their account as a result of not been able to differentiate a domain website and a fake one.A newbie on bitcointalk.org that doesn't know that Bitcointalk.com is a fake site may end up logging in on a fake site and lose his account, then reputable members that have been on this forum for long may decide to create an account on fake Bitcoin forum out of greed and lose the account at last. The reason why I said greed is because most users feel they must earn on all Bitcoin forum,if you click bitcointalk.com you'll see a sub-board(earnings) most persons may be vulnerable because they've seen earnings board on Bitcointalk.com.

Made similar mistake of typing bitcointalk.com in the past but when the site opened and i saw that the interface was quite different from the bitcointalk.org interface, was very confused a bit as everything looked so strange to me and i haven't even typed my login details but only for me to check the url and saw it was bitcointalk.com i typed instead of bitcointalk.org, i quickly changed it to org and the main bitcointalk forum's interface appeared, was just laughing my ass out that very day. This also means that the forum requires much concentration whenever you want to log in. Though i have bookmarked the forum's web address such that as soon as i open my browser, i directly click at it without having to type the web address again.
Scammers are really using various tactics to scam people so we should be careful with anything we are doing that involves the forum because any slightest mistakes can lead to tarnishing one's reputation when your account get hacked.

This one go only affect users when never stay tay for the forum or when just de come into Bitcoin forum as a starter.

The user interface of this forum de unique and as someone when don know how the forum de, to check for a potential cloned website, you fit easily check the post from the different boards on the forum to be sure you're on the right platform even before logging in. Another way to take easily access the forum even without searching out for Bitcointalk is to go straight up to the Bitcoin.org website directly on the net or through an exchange, for the exchange, you fit just go to the Bitcoin  dashboard and just navigate straight to the forum without getting into a potential wrong site. This particular site you listed, from a first hand look, nothing go make me sign up on am because e de obvious say e no follow at all. The target of these guys that are trying to steal your login details can mostly work for newbies when no sabi the forum well and for most of them whose account lacks proper reputation on the main forum, stealing such account will appear as a waste of effort.

Though the site op listed above is another web entirely, BitcoinTalk.com is not BitcoinTalk.org... but I can say that it's was actually created to mimic BitcoinTalk.org and probably drive in traffic to their site as most people would just randomly search the site on google. well it's a good thing to always check for validity of a website before creating an account or loggin in. You can check the registration date of a website using domain checkers and avoid any phishing site that may steal your password or data. Again, remember you are online so avoid clicking any suspicious links or visiting sites that are unknown.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Additionally, scammers/hackers use alphabets that look so similar to the original one to confuse people when making fake websites for instance -- Bitcointalk.org then it would be spelt in this manner [/B] Bítcointalk.org [/B].

Hackers/scammers use the following alphabets : ìîïīí - óôöòøōõ -- àáâäãåā -- éèëêē -- úûùüū

When this alphabets are used it doesn't show much so people do fall for it but you just have to be more vigilant.
